Template:Infobox Cape Verde Municipality
editHi there, Tanketz. You’ve had some good contributions untill December and then you have suddenly stopped. Everything O. K. with you?
But what I wanted to talk to you about is another subject. I intend to replace the infobox about Cape Verde municipalities, and I prepared a scratch. Then, today, I accidentaly stumbled on this. The template I prepared looked like this:
{name} | |
name of inhabitants | {} |
Island | {island} |
Seat | City of {seat} |
Parishes | {parishes} |

es:Plantilla:Municipio de Cabo Verde pt:Predefinição:Info concelho CV
What do you think? Choose one? Merge the two? See you later!

- Hey, sorry I haven't been around. Vacation for a month, and then lately I've had a lot of work. I had just started that infobox for Praia, because I don't like how hard it is to read/edit explicit table code. I had stopped because I saw what you did for Praia on the Portuguese wikipedia and realized the page should be mostly rewritten anyway, probably from your work on the pt page. Great to see that you've started that already! Feel free to pillage from that infobox I was working on if there's anything useful. Hopefully I'll find some time to help you with that translation, but no promises right now. Keep up the good work! --Tanketz (talk) 08:47, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- My God! Why did you answer to me in your talk page? Don’t take me wrong, I am deeply sorry if I haven’t said anything, but I have just noticed it today! Please, next time answer to me in my talk page, it is the only way for me to immediately notice a message.
Changing the subject, by this time, you are probably aware of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Cape Verde, and what we (specially Waldir) have been doing. See you! Ten Islands (talk) 19:30, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Escudo sign
editI saw and reverted the edits by User:Bluesclues100 (who, contrary to what his name suggests, doesn't seem to have much clue). He's been adding currency signs to lots of articles (see his contribs) and I am not sure where he's getting that info. The d-like symbol he used for escudo was from a private area of the Unicode spec (U+E00A) and even with that reference I couldn't find anything online to back up his edits. I hate to say this but I suspect he's trolling, and probably should be reported to the appropriate venues. What do you think? (please reply on my userpage) --Waldir talk 17:21, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think he was trolling. I am assuming good faith. I believe he was geniunely trying to create articles about currency symbols, albeit, a little misguided. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 19:55, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
- I also would guess he's being sincere, just jumping to conclusions about what is true based on information he found. Hopefully he'll come around to noticing Talk pages and editing for quality rather than quantity. (And of course, Unicode names are not a reference as to their actual usage, if that's his idea.) But I am a little afraid of not spreading the word when there could be similar misinformation in some of his other edits. --Tanketz (talk) 20:35, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'd much rather assume good faith here, but (1) no matter how much I search I can't find any reference to the escudo sign he's using (at best it could be a historical sign but without a reference, I don't think it's wise to accept it), and (2) he hasn't been responding to messages left in his talk page (and he did edit after getting them), so I am also not comfortable letting him keep up with these edits without having the situation cleared up. Any suggestions on how to proceed are welcome. --Waldir talk 21:34, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
- I say give him time to notice the talk page. The account is very new. Just revert things that are clearly wrong and unsourced. Looking over his logs again, I don't think he's a huge problem, so we don't need to assume he will turn into one. Cross that bridge if we ever come to it. I'm trying to make sure related articles are in my watchlist. --Tanketz (talk) 02:48, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. let me know if you need anything related to this. Cheers, Waldir talk 03:31, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa
editHello,
I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabell doualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahf africacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.
If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/
Best regards, Islahaddow
