Cabin Pressurisation
editI don't understand your comment about pressurising the mask. The mask is never pressurised, only the cabin. Pressurising the mask would cause barotrauma. The mask pressure can never exceed the pressure acting on the lungs. Probably you did not intend to imply this but I misread your edits and many others will also do so. You might like to clarify this. Ex nihil (talk) 11:48, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Roulers
editThanks for changing the spelling but there are at least three Belgian (French, Flemish and German) and one English version so I used the Official History spellings.Keith-264 (talk) 23:44, 25 January 2013 (UTC).
'Roeselare", the Dutch name, is the ONLY official name of the town concerned, as it is located in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium (Flanders). This is set by Belgian constitution, so it hardly can get more official than that. It is true that back in WWI Flanders was completely administered (including its city naming) in French, but that was reverted to Dutch in the 1950's. I understand your scope of using the French names of Flemish towns in consistence with what was official during the historical period considered (WWI), but if you think of it, this is as odd as persistantly, without clarification, using the Latin name "Lutetia" when talking about Paris during the Roman Empire. It also leads to problems when WWI enthousiasts want to reconcile WWI articles such as this one with a modern map (e.g. Google Maps, Open Source Maps etc.) as there is no "Roulers" to be found. Even most Flemish people would be lost, as they have never heard of "Roulers", despite the fact that it is a medium-sized town. In fact, I myself too had to look it up! So, if you have to choose out of the four languages you mention, choose Flemish.
Exactly the same reasoning goes for "Ypres" ("Ieper" is its official name) and scores of other Flemish towns that were significant during WWI and were known only by there French names. Tavernsenses (talk) 11:15, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- Fair enough for Belgians in 2013 but the English usage is conventional in an English article about a mainly British subject - hence Wytschaete etc. Roulers may be a French word but it's the English usage, like Cologne instead of Koln. I don't suppose you have a written source do you? When I looked things up all I could find was the Belgian government website (which I included in a note about nomenclature) which doesn't seem as helpful on this as I assumed. I thought that in our times all the names counted.Keith-264 (talk) 11:24, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Mass killings by an individual
editHello, Tavernsenses,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Mass killings by an individual should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mass killings by an individual .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Hello tavernsenses
You once added the intriguing example of a house in Ieper apparently rebuilt with metric measurements used in place of imperial ones, with comically enlarged results: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Metrication&oldid=534716554
Since then it gained a "citation needed" - can you recall the source of this (charming) info? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.224.212.146 (talk) 21:08, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunately I'm unable to add any supporting reference. Didn't make the story up though. Must have picked it up a long time ago in the Belgian media, or possibly even during a guided tour. House could also be in a Flemish town along the front, other than Ieper (Ypres). --Tavernsenses (talk) 16:47, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

Please attribute or claim media you uploaded or restored: File:DUKW BelgianCoast Propulsion.jpg
editYou uploaded or restored , File:DUKW BelgianCoast Propulsion.jpg, but for various reasons did not add an {{information}} block, or indicate your (user) name on the file description page. Media uploaded to Wikipedia needs information on the SPECIFIC authorship and source of files, to ensure that it complies with copyright laws in various jurisdictions.
If it's entirely your own work, please include {{own}} in the relevant source field, amend the {{information}} added by a third party, ensuring that your user name (or name you want used for attribution) is clear in the author field, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant (if such a license is not already used). You should also add an |author= parameter to the license tag, to assist reviews and image patrollers. You can also add |claimed=yes
and an |author=
to the {{media by uploader}} or {{presumed_self}} tag if it is present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the {{information}} where appropriate).
If it's not entirely your own work, then please update the source and authorship fields, so that they accurately reflect the source and authors of the original work(s), as well as the derivative you created. You should also not use a "self" license unless the work is entirely you own. Media that is incorrectly claimed as self or {{own}}, will eventually be listed at Files for Discussion or deleted, unless it's full status is entirely clear to other contributors, reviewers and image patrollers.
Whilst this notification, relates to a single media upload, it would also be appreciated if you could ensure that appropriate attribution exists for other media you uploaded, You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
It's okay to remove or strike this message once the issue has been resolved :).

editHi,
I've undone your change https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aresti_Catalog&diff=1037768360&oldid=1000498724, because it caused the rendering on desktop to break: the diagram was not displayed and instead raw markup was shown.
