Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Password, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ATM. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

re: Football Question

Hi,

What we have to follow is what the sources used for the articles have and as far as I know players dont have to start the match, come of the bench also counts as an appearance. Every player that has been on the field gets an appearance. QED237 (talk) 11:13, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

Thank You @User:Qed237 that was very helpful Zafiraman (talk) 10:06, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

re:Question again

Hi,

No problem, you can ask me anything. I cant promise I will answer evertime, sometimes I am too busy and other times I forget to answer but please keep asking if you have any questions. Better to ask then not ask. If you have questions related to a specific subject you can also try asking a related project such as football project at WT:FOOTY (or Wikipedia:WikiProject Football and their talkpage which is the same).

About the question, from what I know you dont have to have a special right to warn people, anyone can do it. However, when warning people be careful because wrong warnings is not good. People can be blocked for abusing warnings if they are not used responsibly. For example vandalism is if someone instert letters/characters that dont make sense (for example "¤#&/!#%Y%") and/or if they add obscenities and crude humor to a page or illegitimately blanking pages (read WP:VANDALISM). Sometimes people use vandalism-warning without it being vandalism which is not good.

I use something called twinkle, WP:TWINKLE, to warn and report editors in a very fast and easy way. You could take a look at that if you are interested, just remember to be careful in warning people. Warning is not a way to make friends as editors can get very angry (I have been attacked multiple times) but is sometimes necessary.

Also please note WP:DONTTEMPLATETHEREGULARS as they usually know how to edit. Instead try and leave a personal and friendly message if you feel it is necessary.

Try and read the information that can be found on wikipedia (the links I provided) and also search around a bit in search window with WP: and then what rule or guideline you look for.

I believe you will be good in warning others if you are careful and ask questions if you are not sure.

If you have further questions about this or an other subject just ask me or other users, there is no harm in asking. QED237 (talk) 12:17, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

re: New Users

Hi, after some looking around I saw that new user accounts can be seen at Special:Log/newusers. Please read the information on that page, you should be really careful with new accounts as we dont want to scare away new good users, new editors may make mistakes but those are often just because they dont know how to edit. May I ask why you wanted to have a list of new accounts? QED237 (talk) 16:33, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

As a general idea it is better to focus on articles than accounts, I only bring my attention to accounts/editor when I see them doing something wrong on a article. QED237 (talk) 16:34, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

Ok thanks for your help @QED237 appreciate it, if you have any questions for me please don't hesitate to ask :) Zafiraman (talk) 09:25, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Re Wayne Rooney

Were you being sarcastic? If you look in the history section, you can see that I was only correcting the dashes; also, your revert was incorrect as friendlies are counted too as long as they are matches regonised by FIFA. Arbero (talk) 00:28, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

I was not being sarcastic but I was not aware that friendlies were counted in player statistics, I may of made a mistake so thanks for telling me I'll look in too it, Thanks friend Zafiraman (talk) 00:30, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Keith Martin

Please do not over-write disambiguation pages as you did at Keith Martin - if the recently deceased Keith Martin man merits an article (which I doubt) please write that as a separate article. - Thanks ':-) - Arjayay (talk) 16:32, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

@Arjayay: Ok thanks for letting me know, I will make sure not to do it again Zafiraman Lets talk about it 18:20, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Welcoming note - Reply

Hello there ZAFIRAMAN,

thank you very much for your kind message. I did have an account (my user name was ALWAYSLEARNING) for six years, and have been editing overall for eight. However, after serious trolling and hounding directed at me twice (in the second run-in, basically, a vandal wanted to vandalize football-related articles because he is a sore loser with no sportsmanship and I opposed), I asked that my accounted be vanished so that I would leave WP forever (more details on the abuse here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:188.81.115.107).

However, found out that I cannot leave, am sort of "hooked" on contributing and improving articles to the best of my abilities. Don't hesitate to ask if you "wikineed" anything.

Sincerely, from Portugal --84.90.219.128 (talk) 20:00, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

RE: Your Reply

You are very welcome, I understand you do not want to create an account, but if you choose not to, it means there are many articles needing improving which are semi protected which you won't be able to edit, as semi protection does not allow edits from IP addresses and new users, if you did create an account you would need to make 10 edits and be registered on Wikipedia for at least 4 days before you would be able to edit semi protected articles. However it is entirely up to you, either you can create an account or continue editing under your I.P address, whichever you choose welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you will continue to stay and make contributions, also if you have any questions or need any help you can either ask me on my talk page, see Help on Wikipedia or you can visit the Wikipedia Teahouse and ask questions and get help from experienced editors, (I'm not one of them yet)

Once again welcome and enjoy your stay. Regards Zafiraman Lets talk about it 23:18, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Your RFA

Hi Zafiraman, I reverted your edit to WP:Requests for adminship since your RfA is not ready - you have not filled out the form. Also, I have to say that it seems a little premature. Voters almost always require thousands of edits. So either fill it out, or ask for it to be deleted. Yngvadottir (talk) 23:10, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

@Yngvadottir: Hi there, may I ask what you mean by it is not ready? Zafiraman Lets talk about it 23:14, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Zafiraman has no answers to any of the questions; it's just a blank form. Did you fail to save your last edit to it? Yngvadottir (talk) 23:17, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
@Yngvadottir: Im currently editing the page so I can answer the questions that is maybe why it is blank. Zafiraman Lets talk about it 23:20, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
OK, that's actually the wrong order to do it in, but if you really want to run - after saving your answers, re-transclude it to WP:Requests for adminship, this time without deleting anything already on the page. Yngvadottir (talk) 23:24, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Zafiraman,
Yngvadottir is being so kind that her message isn't getting through. An RFA this early in your participation here is 100% guaranteed not to be successful. Not 99%, 100%. I fear you haven't read the instructions. Editing for 6 months, and 5000 eidts, used to be the practical minimum, and I can only imagine they have gone up in the last few years. You've edited for a little over 2 months, and have 280 edits.
Please don't answer the questions and re-apply; instead, read WP:NOTNOW, which has some good advice for people in your position.
Thanks for being willing to volunteer to help out, though. --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:31, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Ok thanks :@Floquenbeam: and thanks :@Yngvadottir: Zafiraman Lets talk about it 23:37, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

You're welcome; sorry if that was too blunt, but it looked like you were about to re-add it to the RFA page, and it's been my experience that a too-early RFA can be pretty unpleasant. Would you like me to delete the page, so that when/if you do want to file an RFA in the future, it doesn't look like you have a failed one? Let me know. --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:45, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Yes that would be fine thank youZafiraman Lets talk about it 23:47, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Done. cheers. --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:49, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

WP:Football says nothing about league

I fought to make sure that league was optional. Several members of the project prefer not to list the league at all though. WP:OVERLINK, on the other hand, says don't link common terms or geographic regions. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:00, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

January 2015

Hello, I'm Egghead06. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Morgan Amalfitano, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Egghead06 (talk) 17:42, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

In a recent edit to the page Jozy Altidore, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 22:02, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Ross McCormack. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. JMHamo (talk) 23:21, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Ross McCormack

Hello, 5 + 3 = 8... so Ross McCormack has scored 8 goals this season.. also see 2014–15 Fulham F.C. season#Top scorers. Please revert you edit. JMHamo (talk) 23:32, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

@JMHamo: The article said 8 before my edit so 8 + 3 = 11, the article had not been edited to change those statistics before my edit Zafiraman Lets talk about it 23:36, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Please check reputable football stats like Soccerbase as you are wrong. JMHamo (talk) 23:37, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Please look at Ross McCormack#Career statistics, where is also says 8 and NOT 11. JMHamo (talk) 23:42, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Eight league goals is also confirmed by Soccerway. I have made the correction based on this reliable source. JMHamo (talk) 00:01, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

February 2015

Hello, I'm Redrose64. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Alexander Bain (actor), but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:39, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

@Redrose64:, Does a persons date of birth need a citation?, many such articles don't have them so why does this article need one? Zafiraman Lets talk about it 15:15, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
Dates of birth most definitely require a citation. This is what WP:BLP is all about - within that, see WP:DOB. Just because one article does something is not a reason to do the same thing on another - see WP:OSE. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:27, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Alexander Bain (actor). Thank you. You CANNOT use search results as a reference. See the policy on verifiability. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:53, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Conflict

@Qed237: Were you angry with me about something? Zafiraman Lets talk about it 19:17, 9 Februrary 2015 (UTC)

No. What do you mean? Have I been aggressive? QED237 (talk) 21:55, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
@Qed237: You haven't been aggressive, I just though that when I changed your writing on the talk page by adding the : before what you wrote and in the edit history it says ? why modify MY post, and I thought you were a bit angry Zafiraman Lets talk about it 10:51, 10 Februrary 2015 (UTC)
Okay sorry for that, I may have sounded a bit angry, but that was not against you, I was a bit angry against an other person at that time (if I remember correctly). But in general, you should be very restrictive and not edit talkpage posts of other editors (if not very clear vandalism so it needs to be removed). QED237 (talk) 10:53, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
@Qed237: One was me but sorry about that I wasn't fully aware but I am now so cheers friend Zafiraman Lets talk about it 11:13, 10 Februrary 2015 (UTC)
It was not you, I was angry about something in real life, not something on wikipedia and I am sorry about that. QED237 (talk) 12:36, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Name

@Qed237: Hi, if I want to change my username do you know how? Zafiraman (talk) 22:28, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

You can make request to change username. Read Wikipedia:Changing username carefully first. QED237 (talk) 23:10, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
@Qed237:, Do you have any suggestions or examples? Zafiraman (talk) 23:20, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
No not really, on the page I linked there are a huge archieve on the right with successful and declined namechanges, if you want examples look at them. QED237 (talk) 23:24, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
