Thomas clough
editThe article Thomas clough has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Also, please don't cut and paste copyrighted text from other sources into Wikipedia articles. About Thomas clough
editCheck out the WP:COPYREQ page: it's not enough to get permission to post content just on Wikipedia, the content itself must be released under the "GFDL". The page was deleted by User:NawlinWiki for the following reason:
- a7, large amount of copyrighted text too
This refers to the text that a lot of the text was copyrighted (see Wikipedia:Copyrights), and also WP:CSD#A7, the 7th criterion for article deletion, which states:
- Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If the assertion is likely to be controversial or there has been a previous AfD, the article should be nominated for AfD instead.
Not everyone can have an article about them in Wikipedia, and apparently Nawlin didn't believe that this article was notable according to the person standards for notability. Hope this helps! GracenotesT § 19:22, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
It may not have been your intent, but a recent edit to Wikipedia:Help desk added a huge amount of previously archived material which made a real mess of the page. If you need help learnign how to edit or use archives, leave a message here and I will respond. —Dgiest c 19:24, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
