{{Re|Barbara (WVS)} BGraphics (talk) 17:40, 11 March 2019 (UTC) It's not actually my facility; it's a local camp that's fairly well known in my community but doesn't have that much written about it.
Speedy deletion nomination of Bethany Hills Camp
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bethany Hills Camp, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Jmertel23 (talk) 13:09, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account. You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below this notice, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:54, 4 May 2019 (UTC)The 5th Dimension of Hades (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am in no way affiliated with, or connected to, the corporation "B Graphics." BGraph, or "BGraphics" as many of my friends call me, has been my primary online alias for 8+ years. I would appreciate being unblocked, and, above all else, I would appreciate it if User:Jimfbleak was warned for harassing other users. Shortly after he deleted my page, Bethany Hills Camp for "unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view," he blocked me from contributing or otherwise editing pages/places on this website. As such, I was unable to contest the deletion of my page, and it promptly got deleted. Please, don't let this happen again.
Decline reason:
As there is a company called "B Graphics", you will need to change your username. Also, the Bethany Hills Camp article you wrote was blatantly promotional with statements including "the magnificent landscape...", "provides a 'beautiful view' of country living", "Participants grow as Christians, returning to their daily lives renewed and responsive to the challenge of living faithfully", etc. Instructions for addressing both of these problem are given in the block message. Oh, and you need to stop your personal attacks on the blocking admin and accusations of a vendetta, as he is only trying to explain to you the requirements of Wikipedia policy. Further similar attacks could lose you the ability to edit this talk page too. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:09, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
COI
editThe block above is because your user name is the same as that as a business, which is not permitted here.
You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:The 5th Dimension of Hades. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=The 5th Dimension of Hades|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.
Also read the following regarding writing an article
- you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
- The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
- significant coverage in
- independent,
- multiple,
- reliable,
- secondary sources.
- Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
- you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
- there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
- you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:56, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

- Please do not remove/edit/overwrite any previous unblock request that has already been declined, as you did here. And please do not request "BGraph" again as it has already been rejected twice. I suggest you choose a name that does not have "B" or "Graph" in it, and then follow the instructions in the block message to address your promotional editing. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:41, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
@Boing! said Zebedee: Apologies; I was trying to clear up the page some. As I stated before, I am in no way connected to or affiliated with the company "BGraphcs." I've used BGraph (or a variant of BGraph, like BGraphics) as my primary alias online for over 8 years. Because there is no company called BGraph, then there's literally no reason for "BGraph" to be rejected. None. Again, I would really appreciate it if we could figure this out (preferably with BGraph as my username). Many thanks. . BGraphics (talk) 16:48, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- You have been told why "BGraph" will not be accepted, it is clearly short for BGraphics. Abbreviating the name makes no difference. You will have to use a different name if you want to edit here; I'm not sure what the big issue is with that. You are free to identify your other online handle on your user page, but you will not be allowed to use it here. I'm sorry, it's the way it is. The internet is big and accessible to billions, it isn't possible for every individual human to have one exclusive username everywhere on the Internet. By the way, pings only work if you sign the post during which you ping. 331dot (talk) 16:50, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- @331dot: And I don't see why BGraph wouldn't be accepted. Since I'm not connected with BGraphics, it should be a perfectly acceptable name for me to have. I can completely understand why you would have banned me for my current username, but refusing to change it to BGraph because it's too similar? That's just strange. Literally all I'm asking is to have a username that I've used, that isn't connected with a company, and that is available. That's it. Nothing else. Zilch. Nada. Again, thank you for helping me out with this; I hope we can fix it. BGraphics (talk) 16:55, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- If you are unwilling to pick a new username, there's literally nothing more for us to do other than lock down access to this talk page. Three admins have now told you that BGraphics and BGraph is not acceptable under WP:USERNAME. We understand you aren't related to that company, but the name coincidentally refers to that company and so is not permitted here. Pick a new name or don't, your choice. --Yamla (talk) 16:57, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- "Too similar" is not the reason; the reason is that abbreviating a noncompliant username does not make it compliant. 331dot (talk) 17:00, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- @331dot: Right, I'll pick something else, but everyone's logic for rejecting my username request is flawed. If I created a company today called "Yamla", would I(or any other person) have the right to get them blocked because their username was the same as my company? Or what if I created a company called "Yanla"? It's not the same as her (his?) username, but like you said about BGraphics, it's similar. Would that warrant blocking them? I think not. The argument that has been passed around this page isn't sound, and shouldn't be applicable in this situation. Again, I apologize for my many rename requests and my numerous back-and-forths between admins, but I'm truly trying to understand why a name that is "abbreviated" (which it truly isn't, as BGraph was the original form of the name) to a company that, ultimately, is in no way connected to writing or Wikipedia, would warrant me being blocked. Sorry, it just doesn't make sense. BGraphics (talk) 17:20, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- Pings do not work unless you sign the same post in which you make the ping. You are free to make your case regarding the application of the username policy in the appropriate forum(maybe WP:RFCN) once you have a compliant username. 331dot (talk) 17:13, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

- "The Dead King" would be acceptable except the system tells me it is too similar to the username "Thedeadking". Please choose something else; no need to make a new request, simply change your existing one. 331dot (talk) 17:51, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- Same problem with that choice. Special:CentralAuth will tell you if a specific name is available, but not if it is too similar to existing usernames. 331dot (talk) 19:24, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
cannot rename The chosen username is too similar to existing usernames or it used to be username of someone else that got renamed: The lost king and TheLostKing.

I'm afraid that's also too similar to two existing usernames. 331dot (talk) 17:33, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Bethany Hills Camp
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bethany Hills Camp, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
