Speedy deletion nomination of Fletcher Moss Rangers F.C.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fletcher Moss Rangers F.C. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://fletchermossrangers.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The Mandalorian character articles

Hey Optimistic One. Thanks for your recent edits to the infoboxes of the various The Mandalorian character articles; your modifications were very much correct. You may have noticed, but I've recently nominated many of those articles for GA. If you have any interest in reviewing them, I'd be ready and willing to address whatever your review turns up. Totally up to you, of course. Thanks in advance either way! — Hunter Kahn 23:56, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

@Hunter Kahn: Thanks for the shout out! Nice work on them articles btw. I appreciate your request, but I don't think that I would be the best person to review them. Sorry for the inconvenience, but best of luck with the nominations! The Optimistic One (talk) 19:28, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

Emilia Clarke review

Hello The Optimistic One, hope you are well. I have been working on the Emilia Clarke article in hopes of possibly nominating it at WP:GAN in the near future. I was wondering, as another significant contributor, if there is any glaring issues that need to be worked on in the meantime. Thank you! -- LuK3 (Talk) 20:09, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

@LuK3: Article looks very nice and tidy. Maybe you could split the career section a bit, the section that's named 'mainstream success (2011-)', might need to be split, 2011 was nearly a decade ago, and a lot has happened to Emilia since then. It would make sense to end the section after GoT ended as that was a massive moment in her career, you could also do with renaming the section as well. That's all I can think of for now. The Optimistic One (talk) 21:34, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments. I've split up the section and nominated it over at GAN. Appreciate your help! -- LuK3 (Talk) 16:10, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Better Call Saul (season 3)

The article Better Call Saul (season 3) you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Better Call Saul (season 3) for comments about the article. Well done! Flack

Please note that this comma is not needed in good formal British English. It's favoured by some non-British variants, but not formal English. And Enfield wasn't her home town. It was where she was born, but not her home town. Please see the documentation for details. - SchroCat (talk) 22:55, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

@SchroCat: That's fine, I'm not British so that would explain the confusion. The Optimistic One (talk) 22:58, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

WP:NOTBROKEN

Please read this before removing/"fixing" any redirect. It reads, "Editors should also not change redirect with possibilities like [[Journal of the Franklin Institute]] to [[Franklin Institute#Journal of the Franklin Institute|Journal of the Franklin Institute]], so that readers arrive at the more pertinent article in the eventuality that it is created." I have restored the character redirect links you removed at Better Call Saul (season 5) because WP:NOTBROKEN also says, "Shortcuts or redirects to embedded anchors or sections of articles or of Wikipedia's advice pages should never be bypassed, as the anchors or section headings on the page may change over time." --Kailash29792 (talk) 03:24, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

@Kailash29792: There's a link to a character article for both shows above the cast, every character that is linked can be found there. There's no need to have a link for a redirect if a simple click can get you everything in the same section. The Optimistic One (talk) 09:06, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) No, Kailash29792 is right. I suggest reading WP:R; this is why redirects exist. For example, a link like Hector Salamanca is helpful because it directly links a reader to the subsection of the list of characters article with one-click. This is helpful navigation. To find Hector Salamanca's entry on the List of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul characters article is quite cumbersome because it is not listed in the table of contents (because it would make it way too long). So, a reader would have to endlessly scroll to find that entry in a massive article or Ctrl+F to find it. Does that not sound cumbersome to you and unnecessarily complicated when we can just do this: Hector Salamanca. On the other hand, a redirect like Daniel Wormald isn't partially helpful since it just redirects to the main Better Call Saul article, but that could be fixed so it links to a better spot. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:38, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
@Drovethroughosts: Just initially thought that having a link to a list of characters in the same section would make character links unnecessary. Hector's entry would be hard found for the average reader. But Lalo's would be found quickly. I do get your point though. The Optimistic One (talk) 20:12, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Lalo Salamanca

@Kailash29792: Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a look at it now. Character probably now has a lot of reliable sources now that he's a big part of the series. The Optimistic One (talk) 16:36, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi The Optimistic One! I'm just checking in because I've been concerned by some of your recent edits. I know you're always a good-faith editor, but I've noticed some questionable edits you've made recently that I have to inquire about, mainly involving unsourced content. WP:V is a policy at Wikipedia.

I hope you don't take offense. I'm simply here to help if you need any or to provide guidance or advice. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:12, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

@Drovethrughosts: Hello Alex! Nice to hear from you again! I'll explain the reasoning behind the unsourced content. I haven't had a PC or laptop since September 2019, every edit I make is on my phone or Xbox One or PlayStation 4. I added the part of Prison Break because there wasn't any information about why it was cancelled after the Disney/Fox merger. I didn't add unsourced ratings, those ratings were already added by the editor who removed the redirect on the article. I simply rephrased what the other editor said and added a citation needed tag. Trailer Park Boys ended in 2018, a new season is being made for The Animated Series, which is recognised as a different show. If there is another season being made of the main show, then I didn't see a reference for it. As you may know, I'm currently working on getting season 4 of Better Call Saul promoted to good article status. The reviewer wants more information added to the review section. I'm struggling with this part so if you could help me with the review that would be great. Lastly, the Chuck McGill edits weren't just removing whitespaces. I'm constantly adding content about season 5 and addressing other issues associated with the page. Of course, you have legitimate reasons for being frustrated with my activity on this site but I hope that I've answered your questions well. Thank you! The Optimistic One (talk) 21:29, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the response! For Prison Break, you still added unsourced content because you claimed the series was canceled with no citation. You are right about TWD episode, I misread the edit; sorry for that. For Trailer Park Boys, the very end of the lede states: "In October 2019, Smith revealed that filming had begun on another season.[6]" I understand you were making other edits to the Chuck page, but you still made about 40 edits that were literally just removing double-space whitespace characters, one-by-one. Sorry if I came across harsh or anything, I understand you are editing using limited capabilities right now, so that does explains things. Have you considered using a USB keyboard/mouse for your consoles, would make editing much easier for now. Anyway, keep up the good work and don't worry, anything that needs fixing, I will happily do it for you! Drovethrughosts (talk) 17:22, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Netflix and BCS

I seen that you reverted my edits regarding the inclusion of Netflix's broadcasting rights. Why though? The statements are factually correct for all seasons. The Optimistic One (talk) 00:37, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

I might have been a bit hasty there, as I was in a hurry; I should have left it and just fixed it for you. But, essentially, all you did was copy-and-paste the content word-for-word so it read "season 5 is released..." when the article was for the other seasons. The citation is also about season 5, not the other seasons. I found some other references so I will readd the content for you. Drovethrughosts (talk) 17:22, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Infoboxes

Hi, I'm really sorry but I can't see the value of any of the Middle-earth infobox changes you've made. We may be better off without the boxes altogether, but it's definitely not worth making them larger and longer without adding any value. Please stop until we have a sensible way ahead - I've a mind to revert all the changes but will think about that first. Chiswick Chap (talk) 19:49, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

@Chiswick Chap: What's wrong adding that Faramir and Boromir are brothers? Also, every other box I've seen has first and last. Listing appearances isn't much. I'm thinking about adding colour to them. I was thinking gold like for example the ASOIAF characters (see Tyrion Lannister). The Optimistic One (talk) 19:55, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
Brothers would be fine, if they formed part of a box that actually helped the reader to a noticeable degree. Colours are not required anywhere in the Middle-earth Wikiproject, thanks: they add precisely nothing except to make the articles more garish (at the moment at least the boxes are visually inoffensive). I can't see any point to first..last, especially when we're talking about volumes with names chosen by the publisher within a single novel that Tolkien split into six "books", not individually named. The (slightly) bigger question is what these infoboxes may be for, when they give so very little away to the reader. That's in marked contrast to, say, a species-box in biology articles where the things are clearly informative and helpful. Chiswick Chap (talk) 20:00, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
@Chiswick Chap: Okay, so we both agree that family can be a helpful inclusion? As for characters like Bilbo Baggins, they've been in multiple books. The boxes at the moment don't give much information but I know a few parameters that should be helpful. Origins/Home, so for ex. Bilbo: The Shire, and Aragon: Gondor. Before I add them, do you agree with they're inclusion? The Optimistic One (talk) 12:03, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
Oh, I understood from the sensible silence that you'd decided against it, which I thought a wise decision. Well, if you insist on proceeding, the closest of family ties may be tolerable but it must minimise clutter - it's a thing that can spread ad infinitum to no benefit. The "so we both agree" is greatly overstating the case: I think infoboxes 95% clutter at the best of times. If you add anything clutterish I'll feel free to chop it, and if the box seems not to be saying anything useful, I'll chop it too. I strongly suggest you keep things minimalist. Th Gondor box is already somewhat baroque, with a pointless map/diagram. Aragon is a province of Spain with a large box; Aragorn is a king of Gondor with a box already quite long enough. Bilbo's box was way too big, I've reduced the image size. Chiswick Chap (talk) 12:54, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
@Chiswick Chap: I was silent because I was busy the last couple of days. Those boxes are nowhere near as long as other character boxes I've seen and they only focus on the books rather than the adaptations. The Optimistic One (talk) 15:37, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

Um, could you see the recent edit to Frodo. "Fellowship of the Ring" is ambiguous with the title of the book. I've wikilinked that one, see there for how. Please let's do the others the same way, so I don't have to sweep up after you the *whole* time. Thanks. Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:49, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Checking in

Hi there, The Optimistic One! I've noticed your edits are no longer tagged with "Mobile edit, Mobile web edit", does this mean you're back editing using a PC/laptop? If so, I have a follow-up question for you. Thanks. Drovethrughosts (talk) 16:31, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

@Drovethrughosts: Yes! Although I still sometimes edit on my mobile. Whats your question? The Optimistic One (talk) 16:38, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
Well, I've noticed you have begun expanding Better Call Saul (season 1) for its GA review and you have added roughly 10 bare citations and then tagged the article itself for link rot. So I have to ask, why can't you just add the proper, full citations? I obviously have no issue fixing references for others users, but I mean, it's not like you're not capable of doing it yourself no? Again, please take no offense. Drovethrughosts (talk) 16:44, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
@Drovethrughosts: I mean, if it was one or two references, then I wouldn't mind doing them myself. Ten would seem a bit much, so I just though that it would be easier for a bot to fill them in. No offence taken. The Optimistic One (talk) 16:50, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
