Wiki Syntax
editIf you can, please use proper Wiki syntax when making edits:
Thanks, Rubyaxles (talk) 05:42, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
My apologies. I didn't know there was a protocol for this. I'll use the proper syntax going forward. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. The Sports Gnome (talk) 18:08, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- No need to apologize. Almost everyone (myself included) have been editing this way for a long time and Wiki just corrects it under the covers, so it ends up looking okay... But it's always a good idea to use proper syntax. Thanks for doing it right. Rubyaxles (talk) 18:45, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Minor edits
editThanks for your edits! Just FYI, "minor" edits are things like correcting a typo, spacing, or fixing a formatting issue. Any edit that changes the data in an article, even small edits like filling in the scores for a tournament, would not be classified as a minor edit. Be sure to check out WP:MINOR. --JonRidinger (talk) 21:04, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. I'll proceed accordingly going forward. The Sports Gnome (talk) 21:22, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
FYI
editNational seeds (committee seeds shown in the previous section of the article) are supposed to be the rankings used beyond Regionals. See previous years' articles for guidance, keeping in mind that we now have 16 national seeds as opposed to 8 in previous years. Benhen1997 02:12, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- My bad. Thanks for the fix and best of luck to UF going forward (my UConn Huskies just got eliminated, so I'm without a dog in the fight going forward). The Sports Gnome (talk) 02:16, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. Really hoping tonight's game is called so I don't have to stay up until 3 at the stadium... Benhen1997 02:20, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

editThe article Tre Lamb has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. – UnnamedUser (talk; contribs) 22:47, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 16
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kyle Edmund, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page New York Open (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

editHello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Trafford09 (talk) 04:37, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

editHello The Sports Gnome!
- The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
- We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
- If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!
