M. Macha Nightmare Deletion Nomination
Just FYI: The link you provided to the talk page for the 2nd deletion nomination, the one that just closed (2012), appears to lead to the first nomination instead (2010).Rosencomet (talk) 23:48, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Other Deletion Nominations to Close
I was a contributor to these, so I don't think I should close them, but they appear to be no-brainers and a week old. Could you give them a look? Kenny Klein, LaSara FireFox, Luisah Teish and Trance Mission. Thanks!Rosencomet (talk) 00:11, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

- My views exactly, Qworty. Rosencomet, just give them some time. —Theopolisme 01:59, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- OK. I don't understand what I'm supposed to have done wrong, but I also don't understand when a Nomination gets the attention of someone who can close it when the time comes. Is there someone who takes it on when the nomination is made? Really, I don't know much about that side of Wikipedia. I'm not trying to violate any of the MANY rules and guidelines and just plain essays that seem to exist here, and it doesn't help that Qworty sort of dogs my heels and jumps in with an accusation of wrong-doing whenever I try to have a conversation with or make a suggestion to anyone. If I'm crossing some line of protocol, just tell me; believe me, I'm not looking to cause any problems. Rosencomet (talk) 02:41, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
I see you relisted this for debate. You realise, don't you, that the merge has been done, and so "keep" and "merge" are equivalent in this instance - hence, everyone has basically agreed. Relisting would seem to be a waste of people's time. StAnselm (talk) 00:48, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Revision of Mona Charen Article
I do not remember what I wrote in Mona Charen's article that you felt compelled to remove; however, it is entirely possible that it was indeed, as you put it, "not constructive". However, given that nothing Mona Charen espouses even remotely approaches the level of "constructive", I felt I was well within my rights to talk about her in precisely the same manner that she talks about others. In fact, given the drivel that she routinely spouts, what I wrote was probably a good deal more constructive than her standard faire. With this in mind, you might want to reconsider your decision. 70.140.185.205 (talk) 01:53, 20 November 2012 (UTC) How do I sign this? I don't have a handle. List of past committee members of the De Montfort University Rowing Club
You recently invited User:Joebrunton/ User talk:Joebrunton to the Teahouse, where you are a host. Joe Bruton has has created a new article List of past committee members of the De Montfort University Rowing Club. This article is not notable. I see that he is creating an article in a sandbox on the rowing club, which is likely to be notable. Perhaps you can help this newbie, or find someone else to help. I review new articles, but I cannot shoulder the responsibility of non-notable articles created by new users. --DThomsen8 (talk) 12:33, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Dthomsen. If you look at the history, you'll notice that I actually didn't leave the invite--it was User:HostBot (the whole specific editor signature deal is part of a study by the Wikipedia folks/etc). Regardless, I'll give it a look. —Theopolisme 17:19, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Malik ibn Anas
Hi there,
I understand my edit was removed due to its apparent lack of constructivity (the "peace be upon him" addition). However, I have a basis for adding "peace be upon him" after the mention of the Prophet, which happens to be explained on Wikipedia too:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_be_upon_him_(Islam)
It's basically part of how Muslims have been instructed to address the Prophet whenever he's mentioned (peace be upon him), so I thought it'd be helpful to teach Islam with an Islamic understanding. Perhaps, I should have hyperlinked my addition to the article above? Please reconsider.
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.182.108.230 (talk) 15:48, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi there 58. Thanks a lot for getting in touch! There's actually a Wikipedia project page all about your question — take a look at this. Let me know if you need further clarification. —Theopolisme 17:41, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Can you explain your rationale for closing this? There is, as far as I can see, no clear consensus. §FreeRangeFrog 23:18, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi FRF. All of the delete votes were made before the addition of new sources--if you take a look around the bottom of the discussion, you'll see a strong shift in views once the new sources were added...sufficient enough (especially given the specific sources) to warrant a 'keep' closure. —Theopolisme 23:24, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Not gonna make waves about this or anything, it just seemed arbitrary at first glance. I understand what you're saying, but usually people have to retract their !votes and so on, the discussion might end up as no consensus, etc. Anyway, thanks for the explain. I had never run into that before. §FreeRangeFrog 23:29, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, I totally see where you were coming from. No worries, and you're quite welcome! :) —Theopolisme 23:34, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- May I note that people did retract their !votes. Following the November 12 relisting, delete !voters Huon (although he made his change in the upper section rather than below the divider) and Adam.steinbaugh both changed their !votes, and the original nominator (who never had a bolded !vote to change) himself suggested that the threshold may have been passed. One does not require all !votes to be changed, as unanimity is not the measure. In the face of changing status, one cannot count on all previous editors revisiting the question (and in this case, at least one of the "delete" !voters had earned a block and would've been unable to retract his !vote). No editor who evaluated it in the light of the new sources opted for deletion. --Nat Gertler (talk) 23:46, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for extending upon that, Nat. —Theopolisme 00:02, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

My comment was very constructive as surely this is part of his family history. I can provide all relevant documentation to back up the post that I made. Clearly the fact that only 'nice' things are posted about certain people is against the freedom of speech act. People have a right I know that apart from the things he has done in his cricket career he also has family that he chooses not to recognise. His daughter has a right to be acknowledged and you removing this information is not a true representative of Ashley's 'family' situation. Clearly this site is pointless if all facts cannot be listed. This was Ashley's choice and he must live by this. Again I am more than happy to email you the documentation that backs this up. Much appreciated Marie Slater — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.10.213.148 (talk) 08:10, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

- My comment was very constructive as surely this is part of Ashley Wright's family history. I can provide all relevant documentation to evidence the post I made. Clearly only allowing the 'nice' facts to be posted is not a true representation of a persons life. This also does not allow for the freedom of speech.Apart from Ashley's cricket background he also has a daughter that he neither acknowledges or up until 2 years ago supports! It is by his own choice that he does not recognise this part of his life but by no means does this make it untrue or unconstructive. I take offence in the fact that you think this information is pointless. Once again I am happy to email you all the documentation involved with this situation along with the masses of paper work from the CSA that has accumulated over the past 10 years that indicates Ash's refusal to pay for his child. I'm assuming that as this is most certainly part of his family history that my post will be reinstated.
- Hi Marie. If you can give me specific links or publications to back this, then I can reinstate the material for you. Otherwise, I'm afraid I can't help you. See this policy. —Theopolisme 08:36, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Relisting
Hi Theo. How are you? I saw that you made many relists and we need someone to do that however, some of them were crossing the limit. I've been told by an admin, User:Jenks24 and I've seen on another admin, User:Scottywong's talk page that AfDs should not be relisted more than 2 times. Only in rare cases, they can be relisted thrice. Many of your relists were the 4th one. Such AfDs should be closed per No consensus if the consensus isn't clear after even a 3rd relist but a 4th relist isn't appropriate according to what I've seen and have been told. Relisting 3rd time is okay but still of less use . Thanks for helping out at AfDs however, please just cut down the relists made on a single debate (not more than 3 and 2 in rare cases). Cheers Theo! TheSpecialUser TSU 00:17, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi TSU. Thanks for getting in touch. I suppose I don't really have much regard for no consensus, especially when it appears that more data or information might be forthcoming. However, it is the policy--and that's what matters, not my opinions! :) I'll lurk about a bit and take a look at some no consensus closures to see 'what they're looking for' specifically. Thanks again for taking the time to message me—hope to talk again soon, —Theopolisme 01:10, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Dispute resolution volunteer survey
Dispute Resolution – Volunteer Survey Invite Hello Theopolisme. To follow up on the first survey in April, I am conducting a second survey to learn more about dispute resolution volunteers - their motivations for resolving disputes, the experiences they've had, and their ideas for the future. I would appreciate your thoughts. I hope that with the results of this survey, we will learn how to increase the amount of active, engaged volunteers, and further improve dispute resolution processes. The survey takes around five to ten minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist in analyzing the results of the survey. No personally identifiable information will be released. Please click HERE to participate. You are receiving this invitation because you have either listed yourself as a volunteer at a dispute resolution forum, or are a member of a dispute resolution committee. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ANU Research School of Asia & the Pacific
Hi, I wanted to stop by and mention that your close here was strictly speaking not within policy. For an AfD to be closed as withdrawn, both the nominator and any delete !voters need to strike or otherwise retract their positions. In that AfD there is still a delete !vote outstanding (or at least if Libstar had a change of heart, I missed it). In this case, I really don't see any harm in leaving the close alone, as it would just end up with a keep close anyway, but I thought I should give you a heads up now, when its unlikely to cause any drama, so that you are aware of it while closing AfDs going forward. Hope you don't mind. Monty845 03:43, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Monty! Thanks for letting me know--as it looked highly likely to be closed, as you said, as Keep, I thought there would be no harm in noting the withdraw. However, I'll try to be clearer--at least as far as my rationales go, noting both the Keep and Withdraw--in my coming closures. Thanks again! —Theopolisme 11:53, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Facebook screenshot Aug2012.JPG)
Thanks for uploading File:Facebook screenshot Aug2012.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. DYK for Iddo Patt
On 24 December 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Iddo Patt, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that before founding his own production company, Iddo Patt appeared in a remake of the game show Twenty One? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Iddo Patt. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:22, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Question regarding WP 1.0 bot
Hello Theopolisme. I recently created the new Wikipedia:WikiProject Brands and the WP 1.0 bot is (hopefully) being utilized to update statistics on the project's page (currently located here). I manually entered the numbers that are (as of this post) on the page, currently 3 total. I created the page to do so here: User:WP 1.0 bot/Tables/Project/Brands. Is there anything else that needs to be performed? I checked out various pages at http://toolserver.org/~enwp10/, and from this it appears that it should be functioning. Please respond at your convenience, and thank you. Northamerica1000(talk) 03:02, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, Northamerica1000! Yep, there actually is one more step: you need to create the categories for different ratings/assessments. I'll take care of it in the next few hours and let you know when everything's working. —Theopolisme 05:13, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for the reply, and I really appreciate the help a great deal. Thanks! Northamerica1000(talk) 06:12, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay. Haven't forgotten you; just got sidetracked by some bugs with the automated category maker, so I have to do it manually. No worries! —Theopolisme 17:49, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

- Update: I noticed that you have commenced on helping to fix the article statistics for WP:BRANDS, which is greatly appreciated. FYI, the information has been moved on the WikiProject Brands page to within the "Articles" section of the page, at Wikipedia:WikiProject Brands#Article statistics. Thanks for all of your assistance. - Sorry to be bother again and thanks for the help, but for WikiProject Okanagan, which is generally good, "Mid" importance articles are not showing as that on the list, and it just skips from "Low" to "High", for an awkward reason. Could you help me perhaps again? Thanks very much, ₮๒Я∆и∂レ∑ㄚ 17:17, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I've just seen your message (from Oct. 2012) regarding a small change I made to the Olli Rehn article. Wikipedia Version 0.9 offline release
Hi, I'm involved in putting together the offline releases for WP:1.0. First of all - thanks for helping out with our bot, which serves an important purpose for the community. I don't know my Perl from my Python, so I personally appreciate your contribution!
Secondly, we're starting to put together our next offline release, which will be called Version 0.9. One of the lesser known purposes of the bot - its original raison d'etre, is to help is to select articles like this, then use it to create a collection similar to Wikipedia:Version 0.8. I'd like to ask for help from you and User:Wolfgang42 in putting the collection together, with guidance (if necessary) from User:CBM and User:Kelson who both helped with the last 2-3 releases. Can you help? I'd like us to have an open IRC meeting to plan things - if you can help, is there a good time (UTC) for you to meet? Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 23:38, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Walkerma! It's probably best for us to talk on either Saturday 00:00-05:00 or Sunday 00:00-05:00 UTC, if either of those work with you. —Theopolisme 16:23, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I've heard back from some others, and I think it would be good to talk on #wikipedia-1.0 on Sunday at 00:00, if you don't mind a Saturday night meeting! Can you confirm Sat/Sunday midnight UTC as OK? Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 20:23, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm; I'm actually palling around with some old friends that afternoon/evening (Sunday 00:00 is Saturday 6pm for me here in Memphis)—would a bit later work? I hope to have them cleared out by 8pm here (02:00 UTC). Is that okay? —Theopolisme 22:13, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- It's OK with me (US Eastern Time), but it will be a bit late for the Europeans. I'll see if the others can make it then - if not, I'd still like to talk with you for a bit anyway to go over the plans. Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 22:45, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- Wolfgang can make it at 02:00 UTC Sun. Hope to chat with you then! Walkerma (talk) 05:11, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion patrolling
Hey Theopolisme! I just wanted to stop by and applaud your CSD tagging. Just a quick note, when you tag a new article for speedy deletion, can you mark the article as patrolled from Special:NewPages? I saw you tagged Honorata skarbek for speedy deletion and I marked it as patrolled for you. Thanks and I appreciate your CSD tagging. -- LuK3 (Talk) 00:05, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks! Oddly enough, I've been using Twinkle; do you know if there's been some sort of change to the backend that would have resulted in auto-patrolling being somehow turned off? In the past I believe Twinkle handled it for me. Cheers, —Theopolisme (talk) 00:11, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- I brought up the issue at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle, however the script admin said that it's technically impossible to auto-patrol pages that you didn't tag from Special:NewPages. It's a little pain, but I can deal with it :). -- LuK3 (Talk) 00:17, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know: I'll try to get into the one-two-click rhythm. I'm actually quite glad you pointed this out...otherwise, I would have just kept making more and more work for others. —Theopolisme (talk) 00:20, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Working out the details at Wikipedia:Today's article for improvement
The RFC for TAFI is nearing it's conclusion, and it's time to hammer out the details over at the project's talk page. There are several details of the project that would do well with wider input and participation, such as the article nomination and selection process, the amount and type of articles displayed, the implementation on the main page and other things. I would like to invite you to comment there if you continue to be interested in TAFI's development. --NickPenguin(contribs) 02:27, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

How do I add info about an actress?
I added my daughter as an actress in one of the movies (Once upon a time in Phuket) and by doing that she got a personal page where I added some very basic information. This was deleted due to integrity so my question is - how do I add this info?
EricErfo02 (talk) 13:34, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Eric. The issue isn't the info as much as it is your daughter's notability. Take a look at this page for some more info on what I'm talking about, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions! —Theopolisme (talk) 15:12, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
I added the information again and this time I also added references to the movie on imdb and the Swedish filminstitute database as well as a reference to Ellas page on imdb. I didnt manage to change the link though as the text shows her name but the links really directs to the movie itself. I hope this is OK and before I make some more updates I want to see if this is approved.Erfo02 (talk) 15:54, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- I'd like to reiterate that the issue is not the lack of links, it is the lack of notability. Please read Wikipedia:Notability; until your daughter receives coverage in multiple independent secondary sources, she probably won't be covered on Wikipedia. —Theopolisme (talk) 18:42, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
I hear you but the fact that I referred to her personal page on both IMDB and Swedish filminstitute and the moviepage I assumed this fulfilled demands for notability but if you say it doesnt I guess it is so. Erfo02 (talk) 19:06, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
