Source for Neilsen ratings?

edit

Hi! I just wanted to ask where you're receiving your Neilsen ratings source from, because we really need to include that information with the ratings themselves. If you can tell me what your source is then I can add it as a reference myself and/or show you how to do so yourself. Thanks!

Orphaned non-free image (File:File:2009-kevin-skinner.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:File:2009-kevin-skinner.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Ratings for Romantically Challenged

edit

Hi there! I just wanted to point out a little problem with your table of ratings data at Romantically Challenged. You are drawing information from two different sources, with different types of rating numbers. Whether you choose to report the fast ratings or the final numbers is completely your call (since you are starting the table, and thus, setting the precedent), but you need to be consistent about it.

So, for the fast ratings: [3]

viewers: 11.562
A18-49: 3.1/8

While the finals are: [4]

viewers: 10.665
A18-49: 2.9/8
HH: 7.0/11

I realize you are using the second reference for the HH, but it isn't consistent with the other data you have used. Like I said, it's your call which you use, just pick one. Thanks. --Logical Fuzz (talk) 23:25, 20 April 2010 (UTC) Reply

Sorry, please ignore my post. Someone else has already altered the table. --Logical Fuzz (talk) 03:23, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Better Angels.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 03:30, 27 April 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 03:30, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Glee-neil-patrick-harris-matthew-morrison-500.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Melesse (talk) 05:28, 8 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

splitting articles

edit

Your splitting of rookie blue's episode list into a season article was really premature but i tried to build it up to justify the split. When moving a list of episodes to a season article the preferred formatting is to change {{Episode list}} into {{Episode list/sublist|List of SHOWNAME episodes}} and put <onlyinclude> and </onlyinclude> at the beginning and end of the episode list on the season page and to then put {{:SHOWNAME (season #)}} in place of the season's episode list on the list of episodes for the show. That produces the substituted transclusion of the episode list so that you do not need to write out a duplicated table which is susceptible to resulting in difference of content between the two pages presenting information on the same subject. It is also just simply a lot less to type.

Splitting off the episode list for The Good Guys when there actually is a chance that it could get cancelled before completing broadcast of the initial episode order is also premature. The article was not overly long or extensively referenced such to make it in need of a split. There is still a month before the autumn premiere and Fox has not been so forthcoming with press info since episode 7 aired.

Neither article, which i had watchlisted before you created them, has been done fully. Episode list articles should have an intro about the show for the episodes listed on the page. Season articles should have sufficient coverage about the season to warrant a separate article. If you do split articles please ensure that you write sufficient content to fill out the newly created article. delirious & lost~hugs~ 11:17, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Canadian Idol alumni album sales

edit

Can you tell me what the point of this page is? And why it's notable? I was going to list it for deletion, but I wanted to address you first, since you are the editor, and seem to be the only one that contributes. I'm just not understand because there's no other page like that on Wikipedia. And why are there American Idol sales if it's a Canadian Idol page? The article just seems like a bunch of discographies put together on one page. Yves (talk) 00:10, 17 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Because I do not understand its importance. First of all, the page should not have any American Idol sales in the first place, per the article title. Second, this page looks nothing like the American Idol discography. I just don't understand its WP:IMPORTANCE, and why a single page is required for all these certifications when this could easily be turned into a category of discographies, where it has only been viewed 6,388 times since its creation. I am not trying to make "a big deal bout this" or dissuade you from editing or make a negative effect, and certainly, the article is well-referenced, but am just trying to establish proper (if any) notability for the page to warrant an article. FYI you pretty much are the only contributor (91% of edits). Yves (talk) 01:35, 17 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I happen to have come to this page on a different matter.
1) I cannot believe the no. of people who believe there is a crisis when the title of a page and its contents differ.
So what.
You rename the page to match the contents, or you clarify the matter in the opening paragraph.
In this instance, Canadian and American Idol alumni album sales would solve the problem, would it not?
Alternatively, the US material could be spun off onto its own page.
2) The more fundamental question is whether the material passes muster or not.
I haven't seen either show. They hold no interest for me personally. Updated Tiny Talent Time.
But the data is relevant to pop music and TV.
I don't see what makes this page non-notable.
I would, ideally, prefer to see some international co-editors add non-True North content.
But finding reliable people to contribute to your favourite page is hard as hell.
Varlaam (talk) 01:51, 25 October 2010 (UTC) (in TO)Reply
Thank you for that poem. No crisis here, though; don't know where you got that from. I am not disputing its notability—it certainly is notable. It is just WP:REDUNDANT: all this information is repeated in the discographies of respective contestants and winners, whose pages are linked by the Canadian Idol template. CANOE.CA JAM! problem

edit

The problem with using Jam! Showbiz as a source (see your edit for Strange Mercy) is that the website does not archive its charts, which is very frustrating when trying to confirm a source. The website is also excluded from archive.org. Do you know of any archive of the Top 100 Albums in Canada? Thomsonmg2000 (talk) 05:29, 24 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think I figured out how to solve this problem: WebCite. Direct link to archiving page here. Unfortunately, it might be a little to late to cite the Strange Mercy charts. Thomsonmg2000 (talk) 20:27, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Never Gone, Colton Dixon.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Never Gone, Colton Dixon.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Glee plot section separation

edit

Therealdavo2, I think this is a bad idea: these are not two different shows, and the plots overlap enough that forcing Lima vs. New York onto the Plot section is not helpful. I am reverting you on all the season 4 and season 5 articles that you've made this unilateral change: next time you wish to make such a global change, it would make sense to go to a likely talk page and open a discussion there.

If you wish to discuss this one, I'm certainly open to any cogent arguments you wish to make, and I imagine other editors will have their own thoughts. For now, though, it's up to you to make a convincing case. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:46, 9 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Once Upon a Time, Going Home.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Once Upon a Time, Going Home.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Speedy deletion nomination of Love Would Be Enough

edit

Hello Therealdavo2,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Love Would Be Enough for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. CarlosWagners (talk) 00:24, 31 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

FK&C's new album

edit

The idea for not creating an article yet is encompassed in several locations. I have already referenced WP:NALBUM, which relies somewhat on WP:GNG. There isn't anything about this upcoming album that can be verified, save for its name. https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/8456563/for-king-and-country-interview-joy-song-premiereis an interview with the band, not about the album itself, but they do discuss the first single (which may deserve an article, when it starts to chart). The release date is tentative (but I'm sure New Release Today and Jesus Freak Hideout will include some information about the release as well. However that coverage is trivial at best. Wikipedia:TenPoundHammer's Law is an essay that deals with the speculative nature of recordings. At least the album has a tentative name, but no track listing, producer or anything that would help to fill-out an album article. Oh, and the band is technically Australian, so date format should be dmy, not mdy. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:03, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for contributing to the article Gemini Syndrome. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here for how to do inline referencing). Speedy deletion nomination of Come Alive Tour

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Come Alive Tour requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
