Am I OK to Resubmit for Approval?
Hi, thanks so much for the time you spend helping us "Wikipedia newbies" learn the ropes. I had received some comments from you and another editor for my draft (Positive Grid) that I believe I've now addressed, but wanted to be sure you agree before I resubmit for approval. 3 quick items of note: 1) You had both explained that even if I'm not getting paid to submit a draft, if I'm an employee of any type, I need to declare a COI using the suggested template that was kindly provided to me (which I've now done on my user page).
2) I also saw a note from you about one particular sentence in my draft: "Comment: Positive Grid products are used by top artists around the globe= clearly not neutral tone Theroadislong (talk) 21:33, 21 January 2021 (UTC)" Thank you, I've modified that sentence, as well as a few other that may be deemed similar in tone.
3) What I'm still unclear about is the general reason for decline I saw: "This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed." I modified a few sentences, and have 19 references, all of which are independent published sources. Is there anything else you feel I should amend before I resubmit my article? I wasn't sure if this note mainly referred to a few sentences like the one in example #2 above, or if it was a more widespread comment?
Thanks again! Guitarfan21Guitarfan21 (talk) 15:25, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, you can re-submit, it still reads in a promotional manner though for example " offer integration with computers and mobile devices for a modern music-making experience" is pure marketing speak not a neutral encyclopdia's voice. Theroadislong (talk) 15:31, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your guidance; I've addressed your note above, as well as a few additional places to make the tone more neutral, and have re-submitted. Best, Guitarfan21Guitarfan21 (talk) 15:15, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
Help to improve draft
Hello
Thanks for reviewing my latest submission
Can you please tell me how can I improve it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Art&football (talk • contribs) 16:03, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
I need your opinion on this
If a draft article on a notable subject is created by an editor who has a possible COI or who is suspected of undisclosed paid editing has submitted an article for review is the perceived COI or UPE enough reason to decline the article? Celestina007 (talk) 19:04, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yes I would think so because it's against policy not to declare any conflict so until they have responded, best to decline. Theroadislong (talk) 19:15, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. Celestina007 (talk) 19:34, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

Request on 22:44:20, 23 February 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Rcr203
So, the wiki page submission has been rejected a couple times. The first time, it was due to sources. After adding sources, it was said to read like an advertisement. Which I'm puzzled by, because it's just details about the organization (which is a non profit, non commercial org, so it's not like it's advertising or trying to sell something). I asked a couple independent, unrelated people to edit it the last time to remove anything that sounded promotional versus informational, as well as add more citations, which they did and is why I resubmitted it.
I have contributed to some other pages in the past, and I read the guidelines multiple times, and looked at comparable examples, and I'm not seeing the exact problem, or how best to fix it.. (see something like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Object_Management_Group for example. I appreciate any feedback/guidance on what to do to amend the submission. Thank you./

Hiya- I am not compensated in any shape or form (directly or indirectly) for my edits. I have written this article independently, through my own online research. I noticed an attempt was already made earlier, so I ensured that the reasons for rejection weren't repeated- not having a neutral tone/referencing. Can you please let me know what changes to bring to make it better (and get it approved) :) xx Moichatterjee (talk) 11:50, 24 February 2021 (UTC)M

User:Theroadislong It seems you are the only one who can help to make Draft:Nyerere Ogbonna pass the next stage. This is taken too long with any sign of success. All I continue to receive is "may take up to four months" "and there are about 4324 or so articles waiting to be reviewed". I am damn sad about this. Can you just assist?Nwachinazo (talk) 12:03, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- There is no urgency? There are millions of other articles that require improvement in the meantime, why are you fixated on this one? Theroadislong (talk) 12:06, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- Indeed; Nwachinazo there is nothing that you can do to speed this up. You say it has "taken too long" but Wikipedia has no deadlines or fixed timeframes, so the only one it is taking too long for is you. Why is that? 331dot (talk) 12:11, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
I may not be able to do anything to speed it up. But I know that one good turn deserves another. I think Wikipedia should review its policies to accommodate automatic placement for articles that have met its requirements. I suspect that some tags are just there to pin down articles and I am not happy about it. This is the worst delay I have ever recieved since submitting articles on Wikipedia. Millions of articles every day, it is said. But how many articles are reviewed each day. A lot needs to be done, sirs.Nwachinazo (talk) 15:58, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- We are all volunteers here, I review around 30 articles every day, I have already told you multiple times that I am leaving the review of your draft to another editor, please stop posting here. Theroadislong (talk) 16:14, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
Yessah, it is well. How could any editor/reviewer interfere in article you place a tag of decline on? From experience, I cannot remember any of my articles which are declined initially and accepted later that were reviewed by another editors. I believe only you can consider to do something better to Draft:Nyerere Ogbonna. Well, Well, Well. I HAVE FOLLOWED YOUR ADVICE ON THE NEED TO IMPROVE THE ARTICLE AND I AM DAMN SAD. IS IT NOT BETTER I RETRIEVE IT?Nwachinazo (talk) 16:46, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Nwachinazo, Do what you must, but I have outrightly rejected the article which is worse than a decline I feel Theroadislong has been mature, patient, understanding & polite with you but I on the other hand, do not have the patience Theroadislong has thus the outright reject I placed on the article. I also noticed from your conversations with them that you have been rude to them lol what a colossal error on your part to be rude to a master afc reviewer. Good luck. Celestina007 (talk) 23:19, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
I was never rude to anyone. Since you have outrightly rejected it and still mock me more and more, I find no reason you bringing up the case. It is better you reject or decline a draft on professional grounds than on the basis of "rudeness". Wikipedia policies and guidelines do not give you such privilege. Goodbye! Rejection is not the end of the World.Nwachinazo (talk) 00:41, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

First things first: your userpage has just given me a very strong desire to visit Gwennap, Chagford and Fotheringhay. I think that displaying those images during lockdown is entirely unreasonable: no matter how much I pour over Gifford, I can't actually see those places, and you are taunting me with them. So :P to you.
Anyway... your 'email this user' facility is disabled, so I've come here to ask whether you have any interest in adminnery. I've seen you around a lot in reviewing articles and drafts, and have formed the impression that you have the interests of the project at heart, and the level of understanding to use the tools properly. If you're interested in discussing this further, please reply here or by e-mail. If you're not interested, please feel free to revert or ignore this note. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 20:45, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm flattered that you think I am suitable material for adminship, I've been asked a number of times, but feel quite happy doing what I do and would probably find admin work rather stressful. I am also trying hard to cut down on my editing in general as it has been impacting real life activities. All good wishes and sorry about taunting you with my photographs! - Theroadislong, fair enough - absolutely, keep doing what you enjoy. Your pictures are smashing, I really do want to get out and about, there's plenty to look at in York but I really need a change of scene now. GirthSummit (blether) 06:44, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Draft article review, possible AfDs
Thank you for reviewing the draft article for Dance Studies Association. Given the decision not to publish the article for lack of reliable source coverage, should the pages of the two predecessor organizations, Society of Dance History Scholars and the Congress on Research in Dance be nominated for deletion? These are the two organizations that merged to form Dance Studies Association. ABT021 (talk) 14:41, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
- They are poorly sourced, I have tagged them for notability, thanks. Your draft Draft:Dance Studies Association has much better sources and with a little more editing for neutral tone could be accepeted. Theroadislong (talk) 16:03, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Thank you Theroadislong for reviewing my draft about Aiwa, I removed the sources you mentionned could you please review my article? I removed it anyway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naufalle Al Wahab (talk • contribs) 18:33, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
- Your draft Draft:Aïwa is very poorly sourced, each substantive fact requires a reliable source, it would need to pass the criteria at WP:NBAND in order to be accepted. Theroadislong (talk) 18:50, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
I had a look at this criteria page for bands before beginning this article, it's a very helpful ressource. Actually this band Aiwa meets several criterias beginning with independant articles from important medias. It has been on many compilations over the world including World Music on Wrasse records 2004 and 2006 distributed worldwide. I would like to add those references too once my article is accepted. Thank you for your help ! Naufalle Al Wahab

Pre-translation cleanup
Hello again! A few weeks ago, you tagged the PolyAnalyst article as being in need of cleanup. I am contacting you now because we are about to translate the article into five languages (Russian, French, German, Chinese, and Korean), and I first want to ensure that the article is clean so that any "dirt" is not multiplied by five. I have improved the article since you last saw it, but I don't feel comfortable removing the tag. Do you think you could give the article another looking-over and just delete any offensive material that might remain? I know that you don't have unlimited time for these things, but any asssistace that you could offer would be appriciated. Sam at Megaputer (talk) 15:31, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
Comment: This is the English Wikipedia, I'm not sure we need so many Chinese translations of names? Theroadislong (talk) 18:05, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the comment. It's pretty standard to provide the romanization and Chinese characters for Chinese names in English language scholarly articles and reference works, at least upon first mention. This often provides the needed specificity for further research into the subject esp. in Chinese language sources. But I perhaps overdid it in a few cases, will check. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaoyoude (talk • contribs) 20:13, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
I think you make a good point from the standpoint of readability for the non-Chinese reader, esp in the cases where the Chinese name can be linked to a Wikipedia article that provides the necessary romanizations and Chinese characters. I've edited those in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaoyoude (talk • contribs) 21:22, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

- Please read WP:REFB for help with correctly formatting sources and also WP:MOS for layout help. Tone is totally inappropriate for an encyclopedia, which is why it is strongly suggested people don't write about themselves. Theroadislong (talk) 21:21, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
- you have mentioned about people writing about themselves but I am not. I am writing about an athlete that red bull have just sponsored. The format is correct for an encyclopaedia I have read those link and I think the article is good and has mentioned with good sources too. Mark Mireles Inquiry
Hello Theroadislong, I am writing you to figure out how I can correct your issue. ” The reason left by Theroadislong was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia.”
As you can tell from my past submissions, I am very new to making a Wikiapedia page. I went really far, pulled it back, then added more, and finally came to just make it very streamlined. But I still seem to be missing the standard. Mark is a very decorated officer from the LAPD, he is also listed on Jean-Jacques Machado’s Wikipedia page as one of the 8 students of his next to Joe Rogan, Eddie Bravo and Chuck Norris. And is linked to his Jui Jitsu Academy on Jean's page.
Can you please help me navigate this to be up to standards while keeping Mark and his accomplishments?
I truly hope this finds you well.
- Your draft Draft:Mark Mireles was declined 4 times and then rejected, it will not be considered further, As you have been told on the draft talk page the draft is written in a promotional tone. You mentioned "blatant" advertising by the CEO as your reason for not approving my page. As far as I am aware there is not prohibition on a company managing its own page. It does need to be factual and neutral which I have tried to make it so. You may not like the fact that I am posting on my own company but I don't believe that is a reason to not approve the page. I have attempted to match the style and content of this page to others including Chime, Wealthfront etc. and to me at least it appears comparable. Could you please point me to where you feel this is not neutral enough and I will be happy to adjust as required. I would ask you to be a little less partisan in your comments.

Review: Draft Oxlade (singer)
Hello Theroadislong, a draft I wrote has been declined; firstly because it was not notable notjustyet and when I was able to prove it meets all guidelines. It was declined by the same editor and it was tagged COI. The draft Oxlade, meets all guidelines as followed; WP:GNG, WP:Band and also WP:Anybio, in addition to this. He’s notability wasn’t inherited because of his affiliation with Davido or Drake for sharing his breakthrough song “Away”.
I read above the review section on your talk page, seeing another editor having similar issues because of the same editor. I will gladly declare COI because I’m interested in the subject and not because I have any financial stake in promoting a topic. The draft clearly is written in WP:NPOV, with no promotional information or hype, but everything is verified from a reliable source. I checked the editor contributions and I found your page, I need your help in verifying this claims and also reviewing the draft. Like I said above, I will declare COI in WP:Goodfaith to please the editor.--JudeJnr (talk) 07:52, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- You have re-submitted without any improvement, that is just disruptive, you haven't "proved" the topic is notable, please suggest which part of WP:NMUSICIAN they pass, sources need to be in-depth not mere listings or passing mentions. Theroadislong (talk) 10:18, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Genvieve de Gaulle
I was merely trying to link a page that already exists and so you have, presumaly, authenticated, to that page, using infomration that is already published on the French Wikipediea. HOwever, I have not axe to grind so someone else can make that link or leave it unlinked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnastasiaSeth (talk • contribs) 17:53, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- The problem was that your edit to Charles de Gaulle was unsourced. Theroadislong (talk) 17:55, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
Muntadher Saleh draft
- Hello
I wanted to talk to you about Muntadher Saleh , who apparently has good authority control panel how do you think about the notability on regard on the article because I didn't wrote it I just added the authority control and the external resources
--Mdpx (talk) 16:32, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I'm sorry I don't understand what you are asking me? Theroadislong (talk) 16:37, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- about the Draft article you just declined about Muntadher Saleh — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mdpx (talk • contribs) 16:41, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I declined the draft because of poor sourcing, IMDb and Goodreads are not reliable and neither is Wkiart. You have added a number of external links, theses might be better used as sources, see WP:REFB for help with formatting sources correctly, but be advised there is zero evidence that Draft:Muntadher Saleh is notable. Theroadislong (talk) 16:47, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- oh I thought he is notable because he has these authority control which are really reliable source of only the people with notability especially VIAF
- Authority control has nothing to do with notability? Theroadislong (talk) 18:13, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't know that could you tell me some strong source that you relay on please like a list or something and thank you for your time --Mdpx (talk) 18:15, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
what edits do you suggest for the article you denied?
HI there, noticed you rejected our page. Wondering what about it you thought wasnt apt for publishing? was it too opinion based?

Resubmission
Hi! I resubmitted my entry, hope you will have the time to re-read it. I tried to take out whatever points seemed subjective and replaced the sources (aside for the links to the IMDB profiles of some artists and movies that do not have Wikipedia pages of their own). Please let me know what else I can change, thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nafvt1999 (talk • contribs) 07:23, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- You are being paid to edit, do your client a favour and spend at least a few weeks learning how Wikipedia works, your draft Draft:The IdeaFirst Company is extremely promotional and stuffed with external links to IMDb, it is unlikely to be accepted any time soon. Daniels College of Business
I work for the University and we have been trying to update this page as it has not been updated for years. The history is out of date, the rankings are and everything else I edited. I'm not sure what else to do as the first time we tried we were told we had to discloses that they have been paid, now that we have we still can't make edits.

- Like any other editor who has a conflict of interest you need to suggest your changes on the talk page using the format Please add X using reliable independent source Y for each fact you want added. The article does not belong to the college and Wikipedia is not interested in promoting you, we only report on what the independent sources have written about the college. Independent, reliable sources on Draft:Will Mancini
You left the comment:
There are actually two independent, reliable sources referenced in Draft:Will Mancini: Baptist Press (note 3) and Outreach Magazine (note 4).
Cory Hartman 23:15, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)@Cory hartman: That is still pretty close to zero: the other 32 sources are by the article subject. There's no way this will be published with a ratio like that. The opposite (2 self-published and 32 independent sources) is more like what we are looking for. --- Possibly (talk) 23:50, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Paper.io Probe
Bit of confusion with this. There's a bunch of these. Paper.io draft is redirect, and Paper.io 2 draft is too. Paper.io 2 is currently in the paper.io article. Doesn't work great, but the paper.io 1 article already has a speedy deletion since it was originaly a voodoo redirect. Maybe the name could say series, or Paper.io 2 could have its own article. Paper.io N.R. was a new version, now a redirect. There were a bunch of changes to make the end. Don't worry, I am adding stuff like references. 109.158.15.212 (talk) 10:44, 13 March 2021 (UTC) 2A00:23C7:5A9C:3F01:11E5:5B74:804F:39F9 (talk) 11:40, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

Review: Draft:Rocket_Science_(company)
Hello and thank you for the feedback on the Rocket Science page. I have correctly disclosed my relationship. I based the draft on other pages on Wikipedia for similar companies eg. Embankment Films, HanWay Films and FilmNation, using layout, grammar and how the films they represent are described. Should I give up? Or go to the Talk page to try and resolve? I am not being paid
My employer is not paying me for this article, in fact I am doing this because some people offered to do it for a certain fee and I know I can do it on wikipedia freely, What I meant in my statement is the duration given by the supposed consultant as passed and the article hasn't been approved so i'm seen somewhat as incompetent. Kristian Smith
Hi Theroadislong,
Thanks for reviewing my page on Kristian Smith. Your last comment states that the references don't reference Kristian Smith. A good amount of them do. Obviously it will only be the career page that has pertinent references. Institutions like University aren't able to publish full alumni lists. I have also added imdb link for Kristian Smith which carries all of Kristian's credits and is verified against programmes, so hopefully is fully credible. I've also attached press articles referencing Kristian. And a link to his company website. I hope that answers your concerns.
All best wishes

- Bimblebuster No I'm afraid that the sources need to cover him in-depth with significant coverage and IMDb is NOT a reliable source and his own website is not independent so of no use. Theroadislong (talk) 22:29, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply, theroadislong. Are you able to advise what references would qualify and I'll add those in. I did add independent press articles. Should I add more of those? Paid editing
Hello Theroadislong. I appreciate your mail, but first and foremost, I wasn't compensated now nor will I be paid in the future either directly or indirectly for editing this article. I don't know the Monarch and I have never met him, his neutral views and natural contribution to national discourse really attracted him to me and I think he is line with my vision of bringing our local communities and leaders closer to the global world to digitize and archive their history...this is huge to be paid for, it can only be done via interest and for posterity. I am an African Culture and Heritage enthusiast, that aim at bringing our local African communities and their leaders closer to the global world through archiving their history and resourcefulness via digitizing via web presence for future generation, research and for other important things. This is a means of keeping our local contents safe in which I think wikipedia should be a better way of achieving this. Majority of African culture and and traditions are going into extinct due to the fact that nobody cares to archive them ….for the future generation, I now take it upon myself to kick it, to try my best for others to emulate.
Theroadislong, if the structure of my article give the impression that it is a paid one, I am using this medium to reiterate that my notion for developing this article is strongly misconstrued, I am not paid to do this and am not in the future looking for compensation from anybody for doing this, am doing this for posterity sake based on my interest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.187.42.68 (talk) 23:31, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

"this will need re-writing in a dry neutral, encyclopedic tone before being submitted for review." I really thought I had submitted my draft appropriately with neutral language. Please advise on how I can improve it and how I will know that it has been submitted properly and is under review. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vegan4theAnimals (talk • contribs) 13:30, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- You need to click the large blue button that reads "Submit the draft for review!" non neutral tone includes "It was founded on the philosophy that meeting the animals who society views as mere commodities and sharing their individual stories on tours and through outreach and education is a powerful way to change the perception of farmed animals as food to individuals with unique personalities and desires." which is basically a mission statement, (not encouraged) "The sanctuary attracted scores of volunteers" "a 336 acre historic farm" "a popular local attraction." other content is just plain advertising and has no place in an encyclopaedia article. Do you have any conflict of interest to declare I wonder? Theroadislong (talk) 13:38, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
I would have, too
In normal circumstances I would AfD or CSD that on sight, but I see no harm in the enterprse and am interested in the (inevitabe?) outcome. I shall not participate in the discussion. Fiddle Faddle 18:00, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

HI
Hi @Theroadislong Why do you say that the Salvatore Ruocco page cannot be on wikipedia? Salvatore Ruocco is on the French, Italian Wikipedia. There is also a source, the reliable solid for the actors: IMDB. You can give me an advice? I think there are all the references to be on wikipedia. I thank you in advance
- It is irrelevant that they are on other language Wikipedias, they have VERY different guidelines. IMDb is NOT a reliable source and as that is all you have, I rejected it, you are welcome to add more sources, in which case it could be re-considered, you already moved it to main space where it was tagged for deletion. Do you have a conflict of interest by any chance? Theroadislong (talk) 16:47, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
Draftification of non-AfC userspace drafts
I was wondering why you decided to draftify a few non-AfC userspace drafts, e.g. Draft:Tamerlaine Sanctuary and Preserve (unsimbitted AfC template was added after the move) and Draft:Nigel Poor? Draftspace is the preferred location for drafts with the voluntary domain of the AfC wikiproject; however, many may choose to avoid both per similar sentiments to those espoused at WP:DUD (and some may luckily avoid them unconsciously). Had the drafts remained in their former locations, they would never become eligible for G13. Now that they have been moved, they will be subject to that (some might call it backdoor) form of deletion after six months of inactivity. I would argue that, practically, that is the only thing that has been accomplished. The notion that drafspace aids collaboration and shines a light on things that would otherwise get dusty in userspace is great in theory, but I would argue that has never, or rarely, materialized within the space in actuality. Thanks, — Godsy (TALKCONT) 19:49, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- I moved them to draft as a kindness, they will need to be submitted and reviewed before being accepted, the alternative would have been to send them to afd? If you disagree, move them back to main space and I will send them to afd. Theroadislong (talk) 19:55, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- They originated in the userspace, i.e. at User:Vegan4theAnimals/sandbox and User:Lcmiller11/sandbox.The alternative to seek deletion would have been miscellany for deletion. As a regular there, I can say that it is unlikely consensus would be found to delete them there. The other alternative (that I personally would suggest) would have been to leave them where they were, which is largely a net neutral. The author may return or someone else may find them and improve them there, but they will never be subject to arbitrary deletion that way.Any qualms if I return them to the userspace? — Godsy (TALKCONT) 20:04, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Sure go ahead. However User:Vegan4theAnimals did request here [3] "Can I now somehow edit the name of my Sandbox and submit it for review for publishing?" Theroadislong (talk) 20:07, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Canadian Musician
You just restored INACCURATE INFORMATION, buddy. Andrew King is NO LONGER editor of Canadian Musician. It is Michael Raine. Some basic Google research will reveal that. And in my edit, I had linked to an article showing that Raine is now the editor. You shouldn't have reversed this. I improved the article with updated information, and you restored old, outdated information. You are hurting the quality of Wikipedia with these decisions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ArthurRobertRobert (talk • contribs) 17:54, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
