Henry VIII of England
editHi there. I've put a note that might interest you at Talk:Henry VIII of England. I think your edit there was exactly correct, by the way. The excuse for reverting it was given as "Unexplained edit": you can reduce such reversions by leaving a brief Edit Summary in the box below the Edit Box. More importantly, welcome to Wikipedia, and Happy Editing! JackyR 19:33, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your kind message. I would really like to write decent articles about the likes of Rohan, Ligne, Hornes, Egmond, De La Marck, or La Trémoille but my Russia-related to-do list is too large to leave enough time for Western European families. Still it's a pity that there is no wikipedian who would take care of these. --Ghirla -трёп- 15:59, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- I concur completely that many of these families need work on wikipedia. I have added a list of some of the most important families during the Burgundian and Habsburg period in the Low Countries on my user page, but I am rather short in my own time as well, at the moment. In the future, however, I would like to add articles about them. Let's see what may come in the future. Thomas Antonius 13:46, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Templates
editHello. I've added the Stadtholder templates recently created on de.wiki; you can see all the ones I made at the bottom of William V, Prince of Orange. Do these look all right to you? Biruitorul 21:52, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply and for the more minor corrections. The trick with templates is always to balance brevity with accuracy: we want them to be informative but not too long. But I certainly wouldn't object to something like this where different symbols indicate different types of stadtholders; in fact I think it would be quite useful. Maybe put the rebel ones in italics. My advice is to do some experimentation and see what works best; you're the expert here. I'll weigh in if needed, but I trust you'll do a good job here. Biruitorul 19:07, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Probably you are right - I certainly bow to your local knowlege of the area. If this town does not exist at present and did not exist in the 17th Century, than for sure it should not have a Wikipedia page (except pehaps as a page for a fictional city - there are some such). I will not dispute the deletion note you put on the page - and I will try to learn from this in the future, not to take fiction as fact - however convincingly put! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
