Worth restating here

edit

I included this in my post at AN/I, but it's worth repeating here:

An encyclopedia isn't intended to be a collection of every single thing that may be related to a subject. It's suppose to be something that one can read for a quick overview of important facts about a subject, a starting point for research.. at this point the Akron article is almost TL;DR. --Versageek 17:47, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Something new to work on..

edit

How about something that fits into Category:Lists of butterflies and moths of the United States? Like a list for Ohio? I found a good starting source:Ohio Lepidopterists. Be careful to avoid any accidental copyvio, it's sometimes difficult when you're dealing with brief descriptions. --Versageek 18:15, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ok ima get started on it. Yeah i know what you mean from past experiences.--Threeblur0 (talk) 04:46, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

your text editor & non-Latin character sets

edit

I'm not sure what you used to edit the text for this edit, but it trashed the interwiki links at the end of the article that used non-latin character sets. I fixed it. Please avoid including the interwiki links in your edits if you aren't sure what is causing the problem. --Versageek 06:59, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oops, that came from wordpad, i think, thanks and it wont happen again.--Threeblur0 (talk) 07:03, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Akron, Ohio. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:53, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:AkronSummitCoOHsk.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:AkronSummitCoOHsk.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:40, 27 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 14:40, 27 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:TheAkronArtMuseum.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:TheAkronArtMuseum.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of File:DowntownAkronOhioSkyline.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:DowntownAkronOhioSkyline.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. edit

Thank you for uploading File:AkronNeighbor.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MGA73 (talk) 11:23, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Akron Ohio Flag.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Proposed deletion of File:AkronInNorthEastUS.jpg

edit

The file File:AkronInNorthEastUS.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Claims to point of Akron, Ohio, but does not. Orphaned.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
