Block messages

Do you use twinkle? Twinkle is a lot better at issuing block messages. It is part of the same warning system that you probably have used before. That being said, when leaving a block message, it's generally considered "standard" to use the "sig" parameter instead of signing at the end. This would look like {{uw-block|reason=being a troll|sig=~~~~}}. This puts your signature in the message instead. Not a big deal, but just thought I'd let you know. Regards, Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 23:45, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I use IE, so TW is a non-starter for me (as I understand it). I'll just have to copy the template into my toolbox and take it from there. See ya 'round Tiderolls 03:40, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

what did you dislike about the edit to History of Cleveland?

Thanks for letting me know that you reverted my edit. What specifically did you consider unconstructive? 24.44.14.186 (talk) 00:37, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for reconsidering and reverting the reversion. 24.44.14.186 (talk) 01:03, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Huggle does not give one a view of the complete article, so I had no idea that the spelling of the city evolved. I still don't think the older spelling belongs but that's a discussion for the article's talk page. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Tiderolls 01:06, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Moses Cleaveland did spell his name different from the city that now bears his family name. I have started a new section at Talk:History of Cleveland to draw comment and consensus for a ruling on the appropiateness of the use of the old spelling in the timeline section. 24.44.14.186 (talk) 02:07, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
I'll stop by and take a look. Tiderolls 02:16, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your contribution to my Rfa. I have made a comment about it at User talk:JamesBWatson#Your Request for Adminship which you are, of course, very welcome to read if you wish to. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:13, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Question

Hello, why is it that you are reverting my edits over and over again? This is my information that somehow came on wikipedia and I do not tolerate this unrightful posting. Please leave my edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bravo31 (talkcontribs) 01:03, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

I am not a vandalizer I am a human with his rights. I do demand some respect as you will be given the same. Bravo31 (talk) 01:05, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

You are adding graffiti to the article. please stop before you are blocked. Tiderolls 01:06, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

I am sorry if I am adding graffiti, but please remove those parts of that information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bravo31 (talkcontribs) 01:08, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

If you have concerns regarding article content or ideas on article improvement, I suggest you engage the editors on the article talk page. Your edits are removing sourced and pertinent content. Tiderolls 01:13, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Is it possible that it could be paraphrased instead? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bravo31 (talkcontribs) 01:14, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the reversion

It look like it was done by a third party, not logged in, on my work PC. Thanks for the reversion, and I'm sorry it happened. We have worked out the offender and it won't happen again. Swirling eddy (talk) 02:48, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

my "hooters" edit

You took away "boobs" from products that are 'sold' by Hooters; I wholeheartedly disagree with this. I believe that female anatomy is part of the sales pitch for eating at a Hooters: part of the gimmick is that you eat and gawk at attractive women. If you would prefer, I could put "breasts" instead of "boobs," but again, I feel that breasts are a legitimate part of what Hooters is all about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.79.58.26 (talk) 02:20, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

And fixed here. They do not "sell" breasts literally, whilst your point is valid. {{Sonia|ping|enlist}} 04:16, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for weighing in, Sonia. The "valid point" aspect kept me from further action. Very nicely done on the edit. Watch out...you may develop a reputation as a content editor :) Tiderolls 04:20, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
No probs. A content editor? I wish... all I do is stalk talk pages (which explains this.) I would like to get into content work, but I wouldn't know where to start. Cheers, {{Sonia|ping|enlist}} 04:37, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Your message to Acroterion

Saw your note on Acroterion's talk, and I'd like to offer input — in my mind, there's no reason for your deletion to be undone. G10 applies to all namespaces; you have no less reason to delete an attack page in userspace than you do in mainspace. Moreover, in my mind, all of the revisions to the userpage are deletion-worthy, so it wouldn't help to undelete any of them. Nyttend (talk) 11:51, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your input, Nyttend. That was essentially my take as well. I was just taken aback when I realized it was a user page and not an srticle. It appears the user in question is blocked and their contribs rev/del'd so matters have taken the usual route. Tiderolls 13:04, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Yeah...I finally figured that out...took me a minute. Thanks for the heads up. That's one of the reasons I find find some subpages less than useful. See ya 'round Tiderolls 01:29, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
You may want to redact your post to the former's talk page, if you haven't already. Poor guy's probably wondering what the frak's going on. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 01:31, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
I left an explanation of sorts. The whole thing is making my head hurt. Tiderolls 01:32, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
No worries, no offense taken. The person at fault here is the spoofer/vandal. Unfortunately I was required to create a subpage as my main talk page was protected from the same person, so that guy's finding means and ways of getting around it :P Zhanzhao (talk) 02:10, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
In the event I wasn't clear, I do apologize. Thanks for your patience. Tiderolls 02:15, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Question regarding "List of Mario series characters"

I see that you're an administrator and that you've revert some edits on the List of Mario series characters article. I was curious about the possibility of getting it added to the pending changes trial. Considering the frequency and type of vandalism that occurs, it seems like it might be a good fit, but I don't know if it's a high-profile enough article to be of concern. I don't understand (or at least can't find any information) on how to request such protection, so I thought I'd just ask you; I'm only looking for push in the right direction. Thanks. DKqwerty (talk) 23:36, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Apologies for my late post as I've been AFK. I did a bit of looking around (I haven't been active in the pending changes discussion) and found that requests are being handled at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. I hope that helps. See ya 'round Tiderolls 02:18, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

A favor

If you are an administrator please help me; this jerks are merged an important article, the article of the Batman Forever character Dr. Chase Meridian. Had no right to merge the article to another definition that has a very very short character and this is the deal; I leave alone the user pages if you delete this stupid proposal of merge and do again the article, as it was before. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.84.30.52 (talk) 03:47, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Being an administrator does not give me any special power to edit against consensus. The best advice I can offer is that you approach the editors that participated in the discussion and convey your views/ideas. I apologize for not being able to be of more help.
