I needed to get someone's attention because someone else is vandalizing the article. (SnakeEyesNinja (talk) 02:01, 23 May 2010 (UTC))

OK, you have my attention. What vandalism? Tiderolls 02:02, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Titin redirects listed at Redirects for discussion

I've started a discussion to address the redirects associated with Titin. Since you edited one or other of the redirects at some point, or discussed it on one of the talk pages, I wanted to notify you of the redirect discussion. Carcharoth (talk) 11:54, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Come on, man!

how come you just tatally reverted my edit to twister (1996 film)? I think the article looks much better as "*jason" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Efcmagnew (talkcontribs) 22:32, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

OK...you got me. I thought you were serious at first and I had reverted and warned an established user. Unless...that was your IP...nah, I'm just getting paranoid :) Tiderolls 22:41, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
ha...HA! zinger! happy May fool's day! Whoo! Efcmagnew (talk) 22:56, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
wait... did you say you warned me? (efcmagnew)? if so, I didn't get the msg.
Nah, I warned the IP. You're safe. Tiderolls 22:59, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

This is to confirm that I have rquested a cloak for use on IRC. Tiderolls 23:37, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Nicely done!

I was just examining an article history from an RPP request and about to block the IP causing the trouble, only to discover you'd beaten me to it! Glad to see you're putting that mop to good use! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:24, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

What?

That's not good, I go inactive for less than a month and you start, and finish, your RfA in that time. Oh well, if you didn't know already, I completely support you :) Ajraddatz (Talk) 16:17, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, Aj. Now that you're completely rested up you can get back to helping us :) Tiderolls 16:39, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I sure hope so. Pretty busy on Wikia at the moment, actually. Ajraddatz (Talk) 18:18, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

I keep trying to revert some vandalism, but every time I do, you've already done it! You are Quick Draw McGraw, buddy! Keep up the great work! Maypigeon of Liberty (talk) 00:01, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Per revert...

Hi. I'd just like to apologize about the revert I made. I did not realize someone else had edited, so when I went to rollback it basically rolled right back to the vandal edit.fair ♫ talk to me 00:24, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

I appreciate you coming here to explain, but I've done that too many times to count:) No apology necessary...keep up the good work. Tiderolls 00:26, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Why my contribution is Undo?

I am trying to add new info but why is my contribution show as undo?

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Airwolf09 (talkcontribs) 00:08, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

The first two edits I reverted broke the infobox template and damgaged the page format. The next edit was not in English. This is the English Wikipedia. You can find useful info here. Thanks Tiderolls 00:11, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Thx for revert

im on huggle, so i was about to revert the edit as well, but you beat me there :) Sophie (Talk) 14:09, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry about that accidental revert back to the vandalism diff, huggle was being a bit laggy and the page showed the vandalism diff, and when i clicked revert, it reverted your edits. Once again, I apologize. --Seahorseruler (Talk Page) (Contribs) (Report a Vandal) 00:46, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Opinion

who are you to say its unconstructive? i believe N-town refers more to northcarolina, something i have heard of, insted of that playa garbage that i havent heard of. go away sir.

Thank you Jim Joyce

All I can say is lol! I've already lost track of the number of articles I've crossed with some kind of commentary on the blown perfect game. So much for productive editing tonight... Resolute 01:22, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I'm passionate about Alabama football. However, I can only guess at how much it bores others...so I don't bother them with it. Their guy had a bad break. It happens....that's why they play the game. The outcome is never certain. Tiderolls 01:26, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Heh. I was just noticing you following the same editor around I was reverting the complaints. And yeah, it definitely happens. Pretty much why sport is quite awesome. :) Resolute 01:34, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
They're hitting Perfect game, both teams' articles, the pitchers' articles and user talks of anyone that gets in the way. How much beer do they serve at that stadium? Tiderolls 01:36, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
GAH. So many articles to protect. *bangs head into wall* SirFozzie (talk) 01:52, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
I share the pain. I'm still dealing with the occasional nonsense on Chris Pronger and Dany Heatley for incidents that happened years ago. At least the vandal edits on those pages happens only about once a month now. We might be able to unprotect these articles around August 2012... Resolute 01:53, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
You can do it...I have complete confidence :) Oh, and you may wanna look at Detroit Tigers. It's not a hatchet job like we've been seeing so I haven't stepped in. It looks a touch biased, though. Just a suggestion :) Tiderolls 01:54, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I went looking when you said that the Teams article had been hit. Any others you want me to look at? SirFozzie (talk) 01:55, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Nothing else is showing up Huggle...yet. I'll leave a note on your user talk if I come across anything. I'd offer to help, but I've only had the bit for a bit and am still learning. Besides, this way I don't have worry about cries of !Admin abuse before Independence Day :) Tiderolls 02:00, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Bah! When I got the mop, within a month of earning it, I was handing the ArbCom one of the worst behavioral areas on Wiki. And look where it got me, eventually ON ArbCom. (thinks) On second thought, going low and slow may be a better idea :) SirFozzie (talk) 02:03, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Heh. My hat's off to you, sir. Tiderolls 02:05, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
I honestly don't know how you do it. I had all of these ideas on what I could do with the bit when I got it, and learned within a month that I'd rather just write articles. It's nice being able to smack the vandals down though. Resolute 02:07, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
I have no prejudice against "content" admins :) Tiderolls 02:10, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

lol! And that would be what I meant by not being productive tonight too. Too busy being an admin to be an editor! Ahh well, there's always tomorrow... Resolute 02:37, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Indeed. The one thing I have learned completely is that there is no rush. That's why I appreciate folks, like yourself and SirFozzie who have other talents, pitching in on the maintenance. It does relieve the burden. Many thanks to you both. Tiderolls 02:40, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Question

Why did you delete th lutheran south edit? It is a true statement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.49.225.81 (talk) 01:09, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

As I stated in my edit summary, the edit was commentary. That it may be true does not matter if it is not supported by reliable sources; it is just opinion. Even with properly cited sources, it might not be included. That remains to be seen. I hope that helps. Tiderolls 01:14, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for asking

I am pleased that you asked, as I hoped it would be subtle, but that someone would ask.

First, a very brief bit of background. Like everyone, I grow up, starting with no knowledge of the world, then over time, gradually learning more and more facts. One of the phenomena that fascinate me is when one learns a fact at some age, then later learns it isn't really a fact. The longer the time span, and/or the more ubiquitous the reference, the more dramatic an impression it makes upon me.

Back to the point - one of the things that I learned was the lesson of King Canute - the foolish king who was so full of himself that he thought he could actually command the tide to stop. What a wonderful aphorism, duly trotted out on many an occasion when a little too much hubris is in evidence.

Many years later, I learned a more accurate version—that his sycophantic advisers were treating him with more deference than he deserved. Most rulers would be pleased, but he "set his throne by the sea shore and commanded the tide to halt", not because he thought it would happen, but because he knew it would not, and he wanted his advisers to learn the limitations of his position.

That explanation stuck with me, and I think about it whenever I see a reference (although the reference usually uses King Canute). When I saw your user name, I was reminded of the story, and had to respond as I did. Rest assured, I did not base my support solely on that story—I don't participate in a lot of RfAs because I take them seriously, and try to do an adequate amount of research before weighing in. However, after convincing myself that you would be a good sysop, I couldn't resist my response.--SPhilbrickT 17:33, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Addendum—I try to respect the wishes of user regarding where to respond to questions, and I do prefer keeping everything together. If a Talk Page lurker is wondering what prompted this response, TideRolls wondered about this expression of support.--SPhilbrickT 17:41, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Ahhh...a name related reference. OTOH, if one requires proof of my fallibility we can all gather at the shore. It will be a brief and comic display, so bring lunch and beverages :) Again, Sphilbrick, thanks for your support. Tiderolls 21:56, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Moises Alou reference in fist bump

Why did you remove my post? It is in fact true and he is not the only baseball player who does this Jorge Posada is a more famous one... 12.46.106.19 (talk) 16:49, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

However, that has nothing to do with the article. The source you cited does not support the contention that either player helped popularize the hand bump. Regards Tiderolls 19:04, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

User 5.27.107.234

User 5.27.107.234 has made some disruptive edits again today, looking at this users contributions it looks like he never made any constructive edits... On 26 March 2010 you gave him a final warning that he would be blocked from editing without further notice, I think it is time to execute that warning since this user is just wasting our time. — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me! 19:01, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I agree with your assesment. However, on the off chance that this is another user editing from the same IP, I have given them another final warning. They will most likely follow the pattern exhibited thus far and stop editing for a few weeks before resuming. If you feel it necessary, you can report to AI/V to get a second opinion. Regards Tiderolls 19:13, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you!

CLAREMONT HIGH SCHOOL

you need to look over what i have written and evalutate properly as i have given correct information and if you wish to follow it up i suggest you contact the school and ask if they have made any new structures and how the space is limited and how they do not have enough funding. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.18.241.75 (talk) 10:12, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

That's not exactly how it works on Wikipedia. You seem to be requiring users to disprove the underlying facts of your edit. The addition of content relies on reliable secondary sources that support the facts presented; so the burden is on the individual adding the content. Keep in mind that even with properly cited sources, the content must meet the notability guideline to qualify for inclusion. Thanks for coming here to discuss the situation.
