Media Richness Image

edit

Hi, I'm working on the Media Richness page and came across your diagram. Any way you can edit the language used on it? There was a concern from another user that the word "mediums" should be "media." Thanks so much, and looking forward to hearing from you! --Csmith22 (talk) 21:54, 24 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

No problem; everyone here was new once. :) —tregoweth (talk) 15:30, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

ELT (disambiguation)

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of ELT (disambiguation), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: ELT. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 01:01, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it is better. The page could do with a bit of a tidy-up, though - if you don't mind my saying so. Deb 21:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Attitude Power Trim

edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Attitude Power Trim, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Unusual? Quite TalkQu 21:30, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Fourth column

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Fourth column, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fourth column

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Notability of Jake Edwards (radio personality)

edit

The article Jake Edwards (radio personality) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 17:28, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I just wanted to comment on this, Tntdj. Sometimes people misunderstand the situation above (speedily deleted article) to mean that their subject wasn't considered notable enough for Wikipedia. This is not the case, actually, it's only because the article doesn't establish why the subject is notable. The current version of your article does this quite well; either one of winning that award or being number one in ratings would almost certainly make him notable. However, make sure that you have good sources cited for this, or you will likely face deletion again. (As a side note, the entire paragraph describing "The Champ" also needs to be sourced to somewhere; currently, it sounds like your description of what you've heard on the show. Which is not particularly wrong, as long as you have a WP:RS that says the exact same things. Hope that helps. :)Eaglizard (talk) 06:27, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

See User:Tntdj/Jake Edwards (radio personality). Edit it there and then request a review. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 17:45, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Best way to edit tables in Wikipedia

edit

Hi

I found you on the page about "best text editors" Wikipedia talk:Text editor support. I use Mac OS mainly (but some Windows), and I'd like to have a WYSIWYG editor to edit Wikipedia tables. What do you know of? For example, I'd like to easily add a column in List of natural disasters by death toll. Thanks Tntdj (talk) 20:54, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I don't know about any editor for Wikipedia tables, there may be one if you search for it. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 05:54, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

List of ski areas and resorts in Canada

edit

Since the links you put are official links, it would be preferable to create stub articles for these ski resorts (e.g. "resort x is a ski resort in y, Alberta") and put the official links in each stub's external link section or infobox. It takes a bit more effort but respects the stand-alone list guidelines and the external links guidelines. For ski resorts which already have articles, there is no need to put an external link as it should already be in the resort article itself. There are only 9 red linked entries in Alberta so it shouldn't take long to create these articles. Then the stubs can be extended with the more properly sourced info to establish their notability.--137.122.49.102 (talk) 20:41, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

ETA: I made some further edits to the Alberta section. Since the article is a stand-alone list, the extra details should not be there (because it clutters the entries with unnecessary information), but are appropriate within the resort articles themselves.--137.122.49.102 (talk) 20:59, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The WP:FEED backlog

edit

Hello, I see you made a request at WP:FEED a long time ago, but have continued to be active on Wikipedia and made good edits to the encyclopedia. Since you have posted on WP:FEED in the past, I would like to suggest that if you want please try and help out at the page, as we have a massive backlog. It'd be really great if you provided some advice to other, new users on their articles.

To do this, you'll just need to take a look at their article, which they'll post the link to, and maybe see what perhaps can be improved, like adding sections, references or links, much like you would do with any other article, except you are giving feedback rather than making actual edits. After getting some idea of what needs to be improved, you just need to tell them briefly underneath. It's really simple but incredibly useful to new users and their articles, and helps to overall increase the quality of these new articles.

I hope you will at least consider, thanks. Please send me a message if you have any further questions. Thanks a lot! Chevymontecarlo 13:42, 6 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Battle of Britain Day

edit

The article Battle of Britain Day has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

As discussed Here it has been put forward that an article on Battle of Britain Day is to be created as a separate article from the main Battle of Britain article - this page hinders that process by creating a redirect back to the main article: it is therefore necessary that this page be deleted to allow the creation of an article on "Battle of Britain Day 15 September". Thanks Minorhistorian (talk) 10:13, 19 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Minorhistorian (talk) 10:13, 19 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

The redirect has now been deleted and the page used as a basis for a new article. TIA Minorhistorian (talk)

File source problem with File:Dasslogo.gif

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Dasslogo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lowest safe altitude, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AGL (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of X-board

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on X-board requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Train2104 (t • c) 02:41, 23 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
