Your help requested at WP:Split

Greetings.

I'm a newbie, and I'm wise enough to say so, so pardon me if I'm doing things the "wrong" way or seem to be out of place. I'm trying to learn all I can and practice techniques in my own userspace before attempting to do things in the "real world" and inadvertently causing a big stir, as newbies are wont to do.  :-)

It seems like you were a contributor to Template:Split to a couple years ago. So it seems to me like you may be an excellent person to have in the discussion we're having on how to properly split an article, and then properly updating WP:SPLIT to reflect what we've learned. I think I'm not the only one who's a bit confused about how this template is to be used and what the final result should look like.

I'm actually an old computer geek, myself, and pretty good at writing documentation, so I can certainly help there ... but where we're weak is understanding specifically what the template is calling for.

I'll also be inviting contributors of Template:Split from to our discussion, so we can have a full understanding and agreement on this.

Nomination of Internet commentator for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the redirect Internet commentator is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The redirect will be discussed at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2013 October 18 until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Visual editor

Please review your contributions and check the ones with a tag like "nowiki added". It's not your fault—I guess the broken Visual Editor is wrecking some of your edits, and they need fixing. Sorry and I've "fixed" all <nowiki>...</nowiki> added by me yesterday using {{tag}}. Yesterday I added these <nowiki>...</nowiki> manually, not automatically generated by VisualEditor. Because I thought it would be safer and quicker to use <nowiki>...</nowiki>, preventing some of the element names from yielding real HTML elements by MediaWiki. I don't have a list that tells which tags are rendered as real elements and which tags are not. And I thought it does no harm at all to add <nowiki>...</nowiki> even if it's not needed. Sorry for wasting your time. I have seen quite a bit of nowiki silliness from the visual editor, although not recently, and I jumped to the wrong conclusion. The nowiki is fine, and I use it myself for doing template examples, although for some reason my edits are not tagged (example diff). I suppose {{tag}} is even better.
