Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Career Developed: Utilising the Digital Space, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. --Animalparty! (talk) 16:39, 25 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

The article Career Developed: Utilising the Digital Space has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Personal essay, not an encyclopedic topic. Wikipedia is not a self-publishing platform.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Animalparty! Appealing my block

Hello! I belong to Wikipedia Fan Club University of Ilorin. I was recently alleged for having more than one account and I was blocked. I am appealing my block as the accusation levelled against me is not true, I have no knowledge about the existence of the said account, as I am aware and committed to upholding the ethical standard of the Wikipedia Community. I will be glad if my block is reverted.

Undisclosed Paid Editing

edit

Hello Tomori Uriel. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Sidmach Technologies, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Tomori Uriel. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Tomori Uriel|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. An unblock is a privilege & it’s very rare also, it’s an opportunity given to very few to prove they are of value to the collaborative project and can be trusted once again, so believe me when I tell you UPE is definitely the antithesis of showing character reformation. Celestina007 (talk) 20:50, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I do not have an unblock privilege, my response stated I was unblocked by an admin. Also, I have never been involved in paid editing, as I have been aware of the ethical guidelines of the community since I was in the University. This article was created as a result of my research on the role Technology companies are playing in Africa, and especially during the pandemic. We do not have enough of such articles in Africa. All of these can be verified if you do the same. Tomori Uriel (talk) 20:59, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I tagged it with a G4 so if it doesn’t “match” the old one it wouldn’t be speedy deleted. Furthermore this is blatant UPE & I wasn’t born last night. Lastly, I did do a before and nothing substantial was observed. Celestina007 (talk) 21:16, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Okay, like I said earlier. I got the content from my research online. And other mainstream media while using similar Wikipedia pages as examples to avoid discussions such as this, but here we are. Also, I wasn't paid. I understand that it's easy to doubt people, but it's unfair to undermine their efforts based on past experiences with other people. This is discouraging, I must confess. I can never be a part of paid editing, my community knows this. Tomori Uriel (talk) 21:24, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

You just somehow managed to recreate an article that was deleted because of UPE concerns & non notability? Celestina007 (talk) 22:14, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

For the record, I did not know of the page being involved in UPE, I am only documenting profile of tech companies in Africa. Assumptions are wrong, and bias without adequate fact checking will truncate the growth of this community. I understand this community has a thing with some editors in some parts of the world, I have argued in the past with my immediate community here that it isn't so, but here we are. You had accused me of being blocked without checking my talk page, which was wrong. Blocked or banned editors cannot edit. You haven't been fair. Some of us joined this community out of the passion to add knowledge to others from our previous communities. It is wrong to assume. Tomori Uriel (talk) 04:49, 16 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sidmach Technologies moved to draftspace

edit

Article meets WP:DRAFTIFY as per UPE concerns coupled with article falling short of WP:ORG. Sources used in the article are almost all primary sources thus are of no value.

Sources cited in this article meet WP:ORG requirements in this region. This can be confirmed from other Wikipedia pages related to the country. The sources are not primary as claimed but are credible platforms with printed dailies selling thousands of copies nationwide. The links are from their online sites and were carefully researched and verified on Google news and other objective channels independent of Sidmach Technologies. I'm glad you dropped the "blatant UPE" allegations in your use of words. And your interest in this page is noticeable. The sources referenced in this article are credible mainstream media platforms with a wide online presence, not mere blog posts, but are the same used for other pages (This can be confirmed by checking this page's coverage under the News tag in Google search). I appreciate your efforts towards upholding the values of this community, but not all editors have the wrong motives for creating pages as you wrongfully assumed in my case. Speedy deletion nomination of Seyi Tinubu

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Seyi Tinubu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Seyi Tinubu. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
