Congrats

Just saw that McDonald's Cycle Center earned its star - congratulations! I am not done with the Pritzker Pavilion peer review strikes, have just been very busy. Will make a small edit there so the bot does not archive it tomorrow. Will get to it over the next day or two. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:07, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks very much for the All Around Amazing Barnstar. I do plan to copyedit Pritzker Pavilion before its FAC. I need to sit down and reread it carefully first, plus I have some other things on my plate right now. Ruhrfisch ><>°°

Tony, Please see the response and then lets carry on the discussion within the categorization talk page. Please review and comment on the use of the admin category, I realize this is a large deviation from the current scheme. I believe the shift has real benefits to the readers/editors as well as Chicago Project members (that part is not as fully documented and will count on the use of the admin category). FYI - for the near future I forsee less wiki time for me. Pknkly (talk) 19:54, 1 November 2009 (UTC) Pknkly (talk) 19:54, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Qwest Field

Thanks! I was feeling a little cocky after GA and Peer Review so it was good that the article got some in depth criticism. I addressed your concerns and asked a question regarding an image at the FAC. Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Qwest Field/archive1.Cptnono (talk) 10:53, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

That makes much more sense. I'll fix it right now.Cptnono (talk) 06:17, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

It would be my pleasure after all your hard work. I should be able to go over it on Sunday.Cptnono (talk) 07:03, 15 November 2009 (UTC) Thanks so for the heads up. I had my head wrapped around compound sentences last night. I can't even tell the difference between a nominal group and a sentence per your FA, though :) . Do you mean the admission tax and stadium capacity ranking? I'll put the detail in on the FA talk page right now.Cptnono (talk) 08:30, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Illinois

You don't need to remove completed AfDs such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Noreen Heron and Associates from Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Illinois. The wubbot (talk · contribs) will do so automatically once the AfD has been closed, and will move it to the appropriate archive. I reverted your deletion so that The wubbot (talk · contribs) can do what it does. -- Eastmain (talk) 01:36, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

WP:FOUR

I didn't think it would be particularly useful to continue the conversation at wikicup, but I just wanted to say that I think GA and WP:FOUR are both great things, and that wikipedia is better as a direct result of them. While we'll have to agree to disagree that every article should go through GA, you are most certainly right on one thing; it's far better that one person reviews an article which needs support to take it further, than for an article to be reviewed by three to five people, fail FAC and then be abandoned. DYK nomination of Stephen Schilling

I do have more to review, and would like to do some cleanup work myself, time permitting. I'm hoping to get to it tomorrow, but as I said at the FAC, I can't make any promises. File permission problem with File:Butch Woolfolk.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:Butch Woolfolk.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 01:25, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

only include / include only / PR / FAC

I can explain how I do it (the diff does not show the full edit for complicated reasons) if you still want me to - seeing that SandyGeorgia reverted the change in the FAC, I am not sure this is still something you want to know how to do though. If so, please let me know, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:16, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

New "Angels"

Just to let you know, you fell for the same mistake I did. The "new Angels" aren't actually new Angels. Victoria Secret mistakenly classified them as new Angels on the company's Facebook page when they meant simply "New faces." Unfortunately, the press picked up the story before VS made the correction, hence the error in sources. I'll link you to the page saying they're just new faces with another page listing the actual Angels as soon as VS's Facebook stops being a pain.  Mbinebri  talk ← 01:03, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I found a different and more reliable source instead. VS's AllAccess main page shows which Angels walked in the show (Candice, Chanel, etc. are not among them because they're not Angels) and if you click on "Supermodels" at the top of the page, it gives you the full Angel line-up.  Mbinebri  talk ← 01:17, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

J. T. White

Tony - I checked a newspaper archive for articles on this individual and came up empty other than passing references in game coverage. It looks like he wasn't all that notable, even in the 1940s. Cbl62 (talk) 06:13, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

College football conference awards

Thanks for the compliments. There actually already is a page for the ACC. I discovered yesterday that someone had recently created an article for the ACC Offensive Player of the Year, so I re-purposed it to encompass all of the ACC awards: Atlantic Coast Conference football honors. I still have yet to flesh it out. I've been thinking about creating pages for the five non-BCS FBS conferences, but I think it might make the best sense to arrive at some sort of standard format for what we have so far before we create more. The Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC, which I created, are bulleted lists. The ACC, Big East, and Pac-10, created by others, employ tables of one form or another. The Pac-10 article lists all of the player awards in one table whereas all the other pages treat each award separately. Do you have any thoughts about a standard format here? 1947 Template

Good work on the 1947 template as well. The one guy on the list who clearly deserves an article is Jack Weisenberger. He's one of the few football players in the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor who does not have an article. I've had him on my "to do" list for a long time, but have not been able to come up with much information on him. The other player from the 1947 team who probably deserves an article is the quarterback, Howard Yerges. Cbl62 (talk) 01:32, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Ernest Hemingway

Hi! I asked User:Modernist for feedback on the Hemingway article. I've added sources to the article, and performed general clean up, though there are several sections I've left alone. In my view the article is too long and needs some trimming. Feedback on how to proceed would be welcome from anyone. Modernist suggested you'd be a good resource in this response.
