License tagging for Image:BC01.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BC01.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:05, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BC01.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BC01.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:12, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

XDM: X-Treme Dungeon Mastery

edit

Hiya! I've added a request for 3rd party sources and a more neutral tone (rather than advertising blurb) on XDM: X-Treme Dungeon Mastery, since Wikipedia is WP:NOTADVERTISING. Many thanks, David. Harami2000 (talk) 14:11, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

We're talking about you

Proposed deletion of DragonHearth

edit

The article DragonHearth has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sign of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sourcing and documentation

edit

Hi Tracy,

Do you have a personal website or personal blog that we can reference which would contain the information in the article about you? Maybe just a bio of some sort that we can reference? I know you know the details of your life, but unless they are written down somewhere, it is impossible to verify them without consulting you directly. Thanks! 129.33.19.254 (talk) 19:45, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi ... honestly, I'm not entirely sure how to utilize this utility and only hope I'm doing it right. My personal website is located at: http://trhickman.com where my blog is also located. You can contact me directly via phone at the skype number listed here (http://www.trhickman.com/contact/personal-contact/) or at my public email address at tracy@trhickman.com. The problem I am facing is in trying to correct the information on my own wikipedia entry I have not means of simply making the corrections and having the wiki editors understand that it is actually me making the corrections. For example, I updated the entry today with new information including a photo gallery but all of that has since disappeared again. There went a morning's work. What do I need to do so that I can make corrections to my own record and history without being flagged every time? Trhickman (talk) 20:18, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Think I'm getting the hang of this. I have included the referenced material on my website (http://trhickman.com) and then referenced it from the wiki. Trhickman (talk) 21:34, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:B-XDM-2.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:B-XDM-2.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:56, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
