Ways to improve Chris Thompson (drummer)

edit

Hello, Tyman9348,

Thank you for creating Chris Thompson (drummer).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

References are primary. Article does not meet WP:BAND

This article needs more references to satisfy notability for biography of living persons. What is needed are references giving significant coverage about this person, and independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are reliable - WP:RS; that is your guide.

You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mason Mitchell Motorsports, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lucas Oil 200. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

2022 Henry Ford Health System 200

edit

Hello! I noticed you copy/pasted the lead from Michigan International Speedway. If you do that, you need to attribute it to that page to remain in compliance with the content's license. Also, it's likely unnecessary to include content from the MIS page; a link to the speedway is enough, instead of directly including content from that page. Best, Vermont (🐿️🏳️‍🌈) 02:42, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

So...I noticed this has happened on a lot of other pages. If you copy content from another article, you need to attribute it to that article. I recommend using Template:Excerpt in the future instead of direct copy/pasting. This allows you to transclude the lead from the target article without manually copy/pasting it, and it would mean that it stays up to date. Vermont (🐿️🏳️‍🌈) 02:47, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Milwaukee Mile into 2022 Sprecher 150. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:41, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

2022 Rust-Oleum Automotive Finishes 100 moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, 2022 Rust-Oleum Automotive Finishes 100, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. November 2022

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into David Gilliland Racing. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (c/t) 21:39, 8 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Category:2024 ARCA Menards Series indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:42, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
