Notifying users
editHello! Last week you nominated the (now deleted) article Andreas Dahlström for deletion. However, you never informed me, so I wasn't aware of the deletion nomination. In the future, when nominating something for deletion, please always notify the author and the substantial contributors of the article. Thank you. HeyMid (contribs) 15:02, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
The article Anton Blomqvist has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Junior/Minor league hockey player who has not yet established himself to meet notability requirements per WP:NHOCKEY. Wikipedia is not a Crystal Ball
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dolovis (talk) 00:41, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Diacritics
editHi. Concerning your last edits on 2009 NHL Entry Draft, please be aware of that per Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey#Wikiproject notice all North American hockey pages should have player names without diacritics. Cheers Tooga - BØRK! 17:30, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. CheersUSA1168 (talk) 03:37, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
Proposed deletion contested: Philipp Grubauer
editI have contested the proposed deletion of Philipp Grubauer, as per WP:R it is perfectly reasonable for a subject that fails notability guidelines to have a redirect page to a related subject that does meet notability guidelines. In this case the subject appears to be on the current roster of the Kingston Frontenacs, so a redirect is not unreasonable. If you believe this redirect still needs to be deleted, feel free to nominate it at Redirects for discussion, but please look over WP:RFD#DELETE before doing so.
Also, when placing a proposed deletion tag, or any deletion tag, for that matter, it is necessary to retain the page content so that people evaluating the proposed deletion may easily see whether or not the article should be deleted. The proposed deletion tag should be placed on top of the article content, not in place of it. —KuyaBriBriTalk 06:14, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have also done the same for 15 other redirects on ice hockey players that you prodded on 19 February, again on the grounds that these players' names are only redirects to related articles that meet the notability guidelines. While I do believe some of these redirects need to be retargeted, I don't believe deletion is the answer. My comment above about retaining article content still stands.—KuyaBriBriTalk 06:37, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Current season statistics
editPer Wikipedia standard for professional athletes, please do not update current year statistics, as you did at Michael Frolík, until end of season as it makes a mess of the edits database and Wikipedia is not intended to be up to the minute sports stat database. Dolovis (talk) 14:06, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have also hidden the current season statistics for 5 other Stat Updates that you edited on February 20th, again on the grounds that per Wikipedia standard for professional athletes current year statistics should not be updated until the end of the season. There are many player articles that would benefit from the creation of a "Stats" section, and you are advised that your time would be better spent to create and update statistics for those player articles that actually need them. March 2011
editThank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article, specifically Ilya Kovalchuk, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. —KRM (Communicate!) 00:11, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

The article Garret Bembridge has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Stifle (talk) 16:00, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
