Conflict of interest

Wikipedia is not for writing about yourself or your company

Sorry, but Wikipedia is not a place like LinkedIn or Facebook for people to write about themselves and their own companies. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles, see also WP:Notability (people) and WP:Notability (organizations and companies).

In order to maintain a neutral point of view and avoid promotion, users are very strongly discouraged from writing about themselves or their own companies, or any subject on which they have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.
