Democratic vs. Democratic-Republican Party

I just wanted to let you know that I agree with you that the Democratic Party is wholly distinct from the historical Democratic-Republican Party. Calidum is incorrect about the consensus. However, the article has persisted with this error for such a long time that we will need to discuss it on the article's talk page and achieve consensus in order to make this change.
