Would you please stop trying to change the word "killed" to "assassinated" in this article. We have no reason to believe that any political figure died in the ambush, that the gunmen had any particular target in mind, or that the killings were in any way politically motivated. We don't even know whether the gunmen really were FARC dissidents. Unless you can find a reference indicating that the ambush was a political act (it might simply have been a criminal one), please don't even think of changing the word "killed" to "assassinated".
