Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Cmsv wikipedia", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing this form, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. ElKevbo (talk) 21:02, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Renaming request

edit

Your request has been rejected because an account must be personal and not promotional. The chosen name cannot reflect any organisation name, group name, web site or brand name neither a personality name (dead or alive). Please pick another name. Refer to your local policies. However, you are permitted to use an username containing that kind of name if it identifies you personally, such as "MyName at MyCompany" or "FoobarFan87". Thanks for uploading File:College of Mount Saint Vincent seal.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:25, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

Thank you. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 17:44, 31 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I want to change the username to not include wikipedia sorry about that! Don't want any of the content to be lost. Cmsv wikipedia (talk) 19:16, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

That username still includes "wikipedia". Additionally, you will be expected to abide by WP:COI once unblocked. Yamla (talk) 19:28, 31 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cmsv_wikipedia should be renamed to CMSV_web -- is that possible?

No. You need something that identifies you as an individual. It doesn't have to be your real name, but we don't want a "role" account. See WP:USERNAME. We want an account that clearly belongs to just a single person. Remember, you'll be expected to abide by WP:COI once unblocked, so you won't be writing about the College of Mount Saint Vincent. --Yamla (talk) 20:47, 31 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ok! What about Vinny the Dolphin? Otherwise please advise what type of account name the web person at Mount Saint Vincent should have to curate the College of Mount Saint Vincent wikipedia page? That's all I want. Thank you so much!

Renamed, so I've unblocked you. I say again, though, WP:COI applies. You are expected not to curate the College of Mount Saint Vincent page. You may be blocked if you continue to violate WP:COI. Stick to pages for which you have no conflict of interest, please. --Yamla (talk) 21:30, 31 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much! But if I can't curate the College of Mount Saint Vincent page, how does Yale University update their page for instance? I can make whatever credits necessary. Should I add Template:connected contributor to my user page? Or this Template:connected contributor (paid)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vinny the Dolphin (talkcontribs) 21:34, August 31, 2020 (UTC)

Editors who have a conflict of interest with a subject should avoid editing that article directly. Instead, you should make requests or suggestions in the article's Talk page so that other editors can evaluate and possibly carry out those requests and suggestions. ElKevbo (talk) 02:32, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! Does the note that I added to the top of my contributor page work?

Stop! Please revert the last three edits you made to College of Mount Saint Vincent. You are welcome to suggest edits on the article's talk page, but shouldn't be directly editing the article. --Yamla (talk) 15:47, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ok then do I go to the talk version of the article and say that I would like the following update and say what the update is? Who is going to make the actual edits? Thank you!

You can suggest edits on the article's talk page, being clear that you have a conflict of interest. Maybe nobody will think the edits are appropriate. If so, the edits won't be made. However, you hope to be convincing enough that someone without a conflict of interest will wish to make the edits for you. Again, though, if your only goal here is to write about the College of Mount Saint Vincent, this is basically the end of the line. We expect you will primarily contribute in areas for which you have no conflict of interest, as has been repeatedly pointed out to you. --Yamla (talk) 17:52, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to College of Mount Saint Vincent has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 15:50, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Could someone approve this addition? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:College_of_Mount_Saint_Vincent if not, how can I get them go through? Thank you!

Remember, we aren't interested in you if your only goal is to write about the College of Mount Saint Vincent, as appears to be the case so far. WP:COI tells you how to suggest edits. There's absolutely no guarantee that your edits will ever be made, though. --Yamla (talk) 15:13, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
