I'll be in Maui on this Sun, Mon, Tue (21-23 March), staying at the Frank & Theresa Gomes House (NRHP) in Makawao (now a B&B). I've got your earlier requests of Baldwin-related photos, and plan to cover the sites in Lahaina Hist Dist, Makawao, Wailuku, and other West & Central Maui sites, but not go as far as Hana or Kaupo. Mauna Kea Beach Hotel

edit

I have reverted your move of this article. The hotel is a business and structure that is notable unto itself and distinct from the geographical feature of the bay its located on. Feel free to create a new article about that geographical feature.--Oakshade (talk) 21:09, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well I guess it is the most historic hotel within a ten mile radius, but it is mostly notable in its own advertising. Certainly I thought a combined article on the bay mentioning the hotel made more sense than two stubs (as a reader I get frustrated by zilions of stubs that will never be exanded because there will never be more notable things to say). But stand over-ruled. Sigh. More work for me. W Nowicki (talk) 21:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Chiefess Kapiolani's burial plot

edit

In your article you wrote that she was buried in a "burial plot", what did you mean by that? I think I found where she was buried. According to this youtube video she is buried in the buried ground where Pohukaina once stood, at Iolani Palace. I could only recognize three other names: Timothy Haalilio, Keaweikekahialiʻiokamoku, and Lydia Namahana Piia.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 00:24, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was just paraphrasing the source, which is not specific. I think that is what Pohukaina was, right? It was the original burial vault at the original ʻIolani palace, as I understand. When the Royal Mausoleum of Hawaii was built the bodies were moved there. Perhaps what we need is to add that history to the Royal Mausoleum article, since that is what it was called at the time. Perhaps for now have a redirect from Pohukaina to that section. Not clear it needs its own article for now. W Nowicki (talk) 04:58, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes that's it. It was a coral mausoleum build for the bodies of Kamehameha II and Queen Kamamalu and influenced by the British mausoleums that the Hawaiians saw in London. I don't think it needs an article either unless the burial mound, itself, is a seperate historic site that should be seperated from Iolani Palace.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 05:08, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Fantastic job on Pohukaina! I always thought it weird that Kekauonohi died at Pohukaina. Now I know it's the name of the land also. I was also wondering if you know anything about the actual date of final unification of Hawaii in 1810. It's nearing the hundred year aniversary of the Kingdom of Hawaii. I knew King Kamehameha conquered his last island, Oahu, by Spring (some say May) of 1795.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 13:09, 8 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

This was an area which I have wanted to write some articles about for some time, as they seem to be a forgotten part of World War II. Simon Metcalfe

edit

Thanks. I don't know much about Hawaiian history. In fact, I only began to make a page for Metcalfe because I had redlinked him on the Maritime Fur Trade page as perhaps the first American captain to visit the Northwest Coast. I thought I would make a quick very short stub of a page for him--thinking that he wasn't known for much apart from being perhaps the first on the coast and almost being captured during the Nootka Crisis. So I was quite surprised when I did some searches on his name. I just wanted to find birth and death dates and instead found lots and lots and information about Hawaii. Apparently he's most known for the Olowalu Massacre, which I had never heard of! I had never heard of John Young or Isaac Davis either. The story about his son's death in Hawaii and events leading up to it is weird and interesting. And just to cap it off, Metcalfe died at the hands of the Haida, his ship becoming the first captured by the Haida. So my planned stub of a page has grown a bit. I don't intend to work on it too long though, so any further work/integration/etc you want to do would be great. I'll probably move my sandbox draft to a real article later today. Cheers. Pfly (talk) 21:27, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I pushed it over into a real article, Simon Metcalfe. It's rough, needs sections, copyediting, proofreading, etc. I might have made some mistake about locations in Hawaii, a topic I'm not very knowledgeable about. I think I got it more or less right and tried to use locations and place names I found in various sources. But some sources seemed to differ over specific place names, and I had trouble with some place names. Like, one source described a village or town called Kohala, but it appears that Kohala is the name of the northermost district of the island of Hawaii: Kohala, Hawaii. That source, and others, described Kameʻeiamoku as a chief "at Kohala", or words to that effect. But other sources (including the Wikipedia page about the guy) seem to describe him a Kona, or North Kona chief, referring I assume to Kona District, Hawaii. Anyway, I suspect there are other geographic type issues in the text. Hawaiian geography is challenging, I'm discovering. If nothing else I have trouble keeping the place names straight--most of them look like long strings of the letters k h m l w a e i o and u! And after a while I can't remember whether Keawehala Point or Kaukalaelae Point is near Kawaihae Bay or Keaweula Bay, or if Keawekaheka Point is south of Keaweula Bay or north of Kealakekua Bay (okay, I'm being silly, but you get the picture). Anyway, if you feel so inclined, the article could use, well, lots of help! I'll try to do some copyediting, but am a bit out of my element on some Hawaiian-related issues. Pfly (talk) 08:07, 18 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Metcalfe and his son Thomas unwittingly provided Western military weapons and advisors for King Kamehameha I

...which helped him fight successful battles against island chiefs and unify the archipelago into one kingdom? I think the sentence should explain (in some way) what happened when Kamehameha received the weapons and advisers. Now that I think about it, it was the cannon from the Fair America that helped Kamehameha the most, and Young and Davis were able to operate it. Viriditas (talk) 19:00, 18 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai

edit
  Resolved

I'm not understanding why this move was made. Could you explain? Your reasoning says, "moved Four Seasons Resort Hualalai to Kaupulehu, Hawaii: The resort is only one notable thing at this location, so use location as title, not Hotel name." That isn't correct, as far as I understand it. What you want to do is, create a new article called User:W Nowicki/Kaupulehu, Hawaii, matching what you already have. Move the original article back to Four Seasons Resort Hualalai then create the new article in either user space or at the old redirect. The entry for the FS in Kaupulehu, Hawaii then becomes a summary of the FS section, but preserves itself as a separate article, as it should. As it stands, we now have the page history of the FS article merged into an article about the history and geography of Kaupulehu, Hawaii, when by all accounts, the FS article should standalone, separate from the geography and history article. Viriditas (talk) 20:37, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please read more carefully: "The resort is only one notable thing at this location." You moved the page history about the hotel to a new article about the location and history of the area. That's not how we create new articles. Viriditas (talk) 20:44, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

On the talk page. Jezhotwells wrote: "I would suggest an article on the area with passing mentions of the hotels and golf course as you suggest." This means creating a new article and redirecting the old page (including its history) to the new article. This redirect preserves the page history and makes it easy for anyone to write a sourced article about the hotel and allows proper categorization of the redirect in the appropriate categories. Is this making sense? Viriditas (talk) 20:49, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to attempt to fix the problem, but I don't think it's going to work now that the page histories are mixed up. The outcome will be exactly what you have now, but with the proper redirects and categories. Please do not do anything just yet. Viriditas (talk) 20:52, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Outcome: Kaupulehu, Hawaii is now tagged as {{db-move}} to make way for Kaʻūpūlehu, Hawaii (temporary holding title) to be moved to Kaupulehu, Hawaii. I will file a non-controversial move request to speed things up. The page history of Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is now intact. Viriditas (talk) 21:03, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, yes, it does link, but that is a bit misleading. The coffee is grown at about 2000 ft elevation, not in the city. The city is in its rain shadow, which probably led it to be the tourist center, but I do not have a source for that. I can make a few changes. E.g. appostrophes should be 'okina. And why talk about one eruption in one place and the other in the other section? Looks like someone caught a few typos already. W Nowicki (talk) 00:46, 18 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

What about the 2006 Hawaii earthquake? A lot of sources are mentioning Kohala but by the looks of the charts it's centered on Hualālai. At this point I think that Eruptive activity and Geology are pretty much finished, looking into sources for ecology and human history, got anything to recommend? Ah, ok, thank you. I'm somewhat surprised that Hual has fewer sources then Kohala. I'm going on vacation today/tommorow so my access will probably be somewhat limited. :) ResMar 00:56, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In February you added a citation to a book from the "Webster's Quotations" series published by Icon Group International to this article. Unfortunately, Icon Group International is not a reliable source - their books are computer-generated, with most of the text copied from Wikipedia (most entries have [WP] by them to indicate this). I'm removing a lot of similar references; many other editors have also been deceived by these sources. Another publisher that reuses Wikipedia articles is Alphascript Publishing. Tetrahedral hypothesis

edit

Hello, I was added an article on William Lowthian Green because of his political history, and stumbled across his theory. I tried to expand a bit and use inline citations. If you have a chance to take a look and see if I did any damage it would be appreciated. Thanks. W Nowicki (talk) 20:24, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for doing this, I am really pleased to see it expanded like this. I regret your removal of 'no less a geologist...' - it may be you are unaware of his high standing. I also regret your changes to the plate tectonics bit - the anomalies *are* there, and they *are* unexplained. Plate Tectonics is in its infancy, and much remains to be explained. But I leave it to your judgment & shall not edit further.John Wheater (talk) 14:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I felt that 1) Holmes's standing gave a sense, without POV, of the standing of the T.H. theory. 2)The anomalies referred to are the earth/water ratios in the hemispheres - obviously not explained, but maybe not needing to be, though they had been addressed by the (wrong) T.H. Good Luck! John Wheater (talk) 22:35, 4 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Admin coaching?

edit

I note that you signed up for coaching back in April -- are you still interested? I've seen you around DYK and would be willing to try to mentor you. I've never coached before and I'm by no means the world's most active admin, so feel free to decline, but I might perhaps be able to give you a few hints as to how a content writer can broaden their involvement in the project. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 17:58, 4 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Glad you're still interested! It's sad that the admin coaching programme has so few active coaches at the moment, as I'm sure potential admins are being put off at a time when the admin pool is shrinking. The time difference isn't a problem for me as I usually edit mainly at nighttime, so we may well turn out to be active at similar times. (Note, however, I'm rarely online much at weekends.)
The two articles you linked seem to be progressing very nicely; I find the early geology research completely fascinating. Have you thought about working them up to Good Article standard?
I'd suggest that you create a subpage in your user space for coaching (eg User:W Nowicki/coaching), so that we can chat without worrying about other people reading over our shoulders. A good first step would be for you to think about which areas of admin work you might be interested in, so that we can focus on working towards that. It would also be useful if you would opt in to the edit count summary (you do this by creating the page User:W Nowicki/EditCounterOptIn.js with any content), which will make it easier for me to review your edits and for us both to assess over time how your editing patterns are progressing.
Drop any questions you have onto the coaching subpage, and I'll do my best to answer them! Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 21:52, 4 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes thanks, hope I have time to work on these a bit soon. I wonder if the case ties in my recent article on Samuel Mills Damon since his estate sold a huge swath of the big island (entire southeastern slope of Mauna Loa) to expand Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. That is, the case might have implications beyond the one mountain, and maybe Haleakala too. And species preservation was used to buy the Ainahou Ranch in the park. There are all sorts of topics that have no coverage at all on WIkiedpia. An earlier case that needs work is the one establishing public access to all beaches. I think it was around 1973 regarding Kaunaoa Bay Mauna Kea Beach Hotel but have not researched yet. W Nowicki (talk) 17:04, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

GA review of Hualālai

edit

Hi Nowicki,

I was going through the list at GAN looking for articles to review, and picked out Hualālai before noticing that you'd already begun a review of it (the "under review" tag for the article at GAN had gotten lost somewhere). Anyways, since I'd already started by the time I noticed, I've thrown in an additional review at the end of Talk:Hualālai/GA1 that I hope you may find helpful in your own review.
PS. if you don't have the time for a review of the article right now, I can take over (i'm inclined to pass it based on my own review). Just let me know what you prefer. --Xover (talk) 01:09, 16 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Seperate issue: do you think File:MaunaKeaStatePark.JPG is the entrance to the Onizuka Center for International Astronomy? It seems awfuly close to this image. The road differences can be explained with the renovation of the Saddle Road between the 1996 and 2007 photos; otherwise they seem very similar, and I can't find much on Wikipedia on a Mauna Kea State Park.
Further details: the centre is located at 2804 meters (approximatly), and the timberline can be seen in this picture. The timberline is around ~3500 meters or so, so that matches up as well...ResMar 20:24, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been active on the main article so I tried to avoid edit conflict. Alas I never got there myself. But I think the answer is no, it might be the state park on the saddle. I did work on Mauna Kea Trail a bit, and I see Onizuka Center for International Astronomy has been worked on a bit. The real issue about driving to the summit turns out not be "SUV" vs. sedan, although most people say Four-wheel drive, but brakes. That is, many people can drive up the mountain, and although the 4WD helps go when stuck in snow, a more common problem is overheating brakes on the way down. I remember reading this in an article but need to put my finger on it of course to cite. W Nowicki (talk) 00:45, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

The picture seems to be near Bradshaw Field, 19°44′57″N 155°31′35″W / 19.74917°N 155.52639°W / 19.74917; -155.52639 (Mauna Kea State Park) about 6500 feet elevation. W Nowicki (talk) 00:52, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm sure File:MaunaKeaStatePark.JPG isn't HP: I was fooled for a moment into thinking it was, and just an unfamiliar angle, but I showed it to an astronomer who has spent hundreds of nights at HP and was told flatly it isn't. I also think WN is right - everything is consistent for that identification. Awien (talk) 11:07, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Looks VERY complete at first glance ^_- Will try to make a pass at it in detail as time permits. As for astronomy, it was you who found the mother lode with the CMP document - bravo! Hasta luego, Awien (talk) 13:28, 21 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sure, much more complete. Still many nits, e.g. mention Douglas' demise. As to the CMP, credit needs to go to Richard Ha (I had the pleasure of meeting once). It might be worth mentioning more on the controversy, or maybe in the observatory article. See for example this article W Nowicki (talk) 17:04, 21 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but not sure we need a redirect. I could not find any links to it. And a couple mentions refer to other instances. If you web search to get a condo with that name, for example. More important is linking it up. And of course wish we had a picture of the real deal, not the guy. And the Adz Quarry too. So have you also noticed Mauna Kea Ice Age Reserve and Mauna Kea State Recreation Area....W Nowicki (talk) 23:23, 26 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Questions

edit

I've handled everything except for the ahupuaʻa issue, and of course the Recreation balance issue. Can you give me a link to that? As for recreation, the balance is somewhast better now, although its very poorly organized and in dire need of a rewrite. I'll sandbox it tommorow. I love Awien's reaction though. Who knows, someone might have had a terrible time climbing a mountain because of me :) ResMar 03:29, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Annnnd done. ResMar 02:01, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Now that is personally offensive. Yeah, I'm ignoring concensus. More like I'm ignoring bad writing. I'm not sure whether to be bewildered that you tried to sneak around me like that, or angry in your lack of faith with me. Either way, I've rewritten the whole thing. My advice: if you have something to say, say it, and don't slink off like that. ResMar 02:35, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please assume good faith and try to calmly look at what actually happened. At least three editors agreed that recreation should focus on activities that are common (lower down on the mountain) and not start by making sound like the summit is a popular place. Several also thought the article had too many details that should be in other articles, or was just too wordy. When some of us tried to help, you backed out our changes and instead of trying to convince us of your reasoning in a civil discussion, posted angry comments. Nobody tried to "sneak" anything; I was just asking advice as was offered. Instead of ignoring "bad" writing, cooperating with other editors to understand why they did what they did might be a better approach. Peace. W Nowicki (talk) 20:18, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I took everything everyone said in account and completely rewrote the section. In trying to address the concerns, the article became more of a miscinclery then a viable section. I hope the new, condensed version is better. There are still no refs for what is the most active use of the mountain, which is a major handicap, but something the article can live with. I have to ask though, what do you mean by the lead needing to be more of a summary? ResMar 00:01, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I do not know what "miscinclery" is so do not follow that comment.

The lead section should give a general context for the article, explain why the subject is notable, and summarize the rest. Its best to avoid repeating details that are mentioned in the body. For example, I would not even give its exact elevation (or elevation but not total "size" from base, see my comment about "tall"), but state that it is a volcanic mountain, and the highest point for tousands of miles (kilometers? even though the USA uses English units, or say "in the Pacific" or "great distances"). Even worse, right now the name derrivation is the first thing mentioned, which is not in the body at all. I would reverse that: put the name discussion in the body, and avoid it totally in the lead, since it is not the most notable thing about the mountain. Other part of the lead could be compressed, as could other parts of the article. For example, I removed the detail that Parker arrived in 1809 (partly because most sources say 1808), since he was not associated with the mountain until decades later. He ran a farm in Kohala and then a store, as per his article. Also generally the rules for citations are more lenient when summarizing in the lead or other articles that are linked. Mostly only controversial facts need to be re-cited if they are already cited in the body of the article or linked one, although general citations supporting the summarized content might help charges of synthesis. However, if one can look at any non-specialized map and see the parks at the base of the mountain, it would seem to easily meet Wikipedia:Verifiability requirements without citation. But if you need them, getting the sources from those articles would also work, instead of removing the content. W Nowicki (talk) 18:27, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

The linguistics are there because they give context to the article. I'll move it into Human history, as it fits there as well. As to elevation, isn't it elevation that is one of the most notable things about Mauna Kea? Elevation is a fairly important charecteristic an grande, but particularly so with Mauna Kea, which is the highest point in Hawaii, holds several other hieght-related statuses, and is the highest peak in the world by dry prominence.

Yes, but at least to me the relative hieight is important point. If, say, Mauna Kea was 4,204 m it might not be less notable, nor would it be much more notable if it were 4,206 m. But the compromise I suggested was to leave that in but remove the numbers from the Everest comparison. Anyway my guess is that during a review someone is going to copyedit this significantly, so will let them do it and move onto other projects.

Units: the article is written from a scientific perspective, which uses the metric system. There's no "rule" saying US articles have to be written in one format or another, and I perfer metrics, which are much easier to understand. Parker: Even so, his date of arrival clarifies his non-native status, and is an important point even if he wasn't directly involved with the project for some time. That's like saying, "After his work in World War 2, Wernher von Braun was transported to the United States, and would become a central figure in the American space program." The immediate question asked is, when? From where?

Very different, since von Braun was very involved in rocketry in his native country, so the detail might be relevant in an article on rocketry. Mentioning, say, the breed of his dog might not be. Parker was not involved in the mountain until decades later, and in fact A. W. Carter was the one who bought up most of Mauna Kea almost a hundred years later. And in fact many people who did affect Mauna Kea on Parker ranch were of mixed race, since J. P. married Hawaiian. But people who care can always click through to the Parker Ranch article etc. Put it this way: would Mauna Kea be much different if Parker only stayed, say, 30 years instead of 36 in Kohala before moving to Mauna Kea? vs. would the US space program have been different if the Germans had not done what they did? Include only relevant details.

References: Not really. Hamakua Coast for example has only a single reference, and that's only applicable to one sentance in the article, and is a shakey source in terms of reliability as well. For all anyone knows, it could be comepletely synthesized original work. ResMar 02:33, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Glad to see a new article, thanks. Yes, the language has the usual problems with a spoken toungue that is atempted to be encoded by European alphabet; the limited number of consonants makes many words sound the same to us, but I do my best. I took the liberty of clarifying the history there and hope did not get into an edit conflict. I would also suggest linking to feather cloak at some point since the two went together. Also a bit misleading to talk abotu the Bishop Museum's one being "200 years old" since any authentic ones are about the same age. The art was essentially lost when the missionaries came in the 1820s.

Importance field

Before you waste any more time filling out the importance field, the reason it is blank in many cases is because it is mostly deprecated in use, both in the project and in general assessment practices altogether. In other words, it should be removed from the template. Viriditas (talk) 01:44, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Huh? It certainly is more subjective than ideal, but was filled in on thousands of articles. Anyway the excercise was not totally in vain, because I found several interesting articles lost in the shuffle. Of course everyone thinks their article is "top". My rough guide is to guess how likely the article will be upgraded to something like "good" status, such as how many different reliable sources it is likely to have. I would suggest to please get a third opinion before throwing it away. Other projects seem to use it. IMO there are other more useful things to do with your time. For example, the documentation of the template had some glaring errors (red links) and I only fixed some obvious ones. W Nowicki (talk) 16:41, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, if I wasn't clear. The importance field isn't used by many active projects as it has been mostly deprecated. I'm not sure why we still have it as it doesnt seem to help us. Not sure what you are talking about in regards to glaring errors and red links, as that doesn't parse. Viriditas (talk) 19:48, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I cannot tell what does not "parse" for you. Other projects I work with such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography and Wikipedia:WikiProject California do use the importance field (or priority field, sigh). All I was saying was that I find that importance information useful, and suggested that a third opinion be requested (beter yet, a project wide discussion to reach consensus) before you remove it. Also I tried to offer what I thought was a constructive suggestion: if you have time to work on project pages, fixing glaring errors in the project pages might be a better use of that time than throwing away information some of us consider useful. For example, these edits removed a few red links from the template documentation, but there are more. At least in my opinion, red links on project pages (except of course for requested articles) would be more pressing concerns. Even the main project page refers to {{WPHawaii}} while the current convention seems to be to spell it out as {{WikiProject Hawaii}}. It still mentions the newsletter, etc. W Nowicki (talk) 17:24, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm active on biography and California articles and have been for some time. Do you have any evidence that those projects use the priority and importance fields to manage their workload? If you don't, feel free to pull out a top, high, or mid level importance set and break it down by table for us, as the assessment pages do it. However, I do not believe this is helpful, and our time would be better spent focusing on topics and article assessment. For example, we have a lot of B-Class articles that can be turned into GA's, and C's that can be turned into B's, etc. I did not say I was going to remove the tag, so I have no idea why you just said that above. I said, it should be removed. Big difference. As for the red link, that's not an error, that's a deleted category.[1] And I'm not sure why you are making these comments about project pages on your talk page when we are discussing this very issue on the project page. There always seems to be a bit of a disconnect when we discuss, so in the future, I'll try to be very precise with my comments to avoid any misunderstanding. Ask me questions if you are interested in anything, and I will be happy to answer. Viriditas (talk) 04:26, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
As for {{WPHawaii}}, somebody has recently enforced template standardization, which is fine. I've made a bot request for a project-wide change to {{WikiProject Hawaii}} along with a watchlist update. Since you noticed this change in the template standard, I'm curious why you didn't change it yourself. Viriditas (talk) 04:43, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kaupulehu, Hawaii

edit

You recently made this edit, restoring the hidden article field. I don't know if that's what you intended, but I'm assuming it was, and therefore, I've restored Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. Viriditas (talk) 02:54, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I thought that was fait acompli months ago: you over-ruled my way of doing things. If you took the time to develop a reasonably well-sourced article, might as well not hide it. Was just trying to finish some loose ends before moving on to other projects. Sorry if it made more work for you. W Nowicki (talk) 16:41, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure what you mean by your "way of doing things" or what that refers to. All the diff shows is that you "unhid" the main article link, making it redirect to the same article. To avoid this, I restored the content of the main link from my user space. Normally, links don't link to the page from where they are linked. Viriditas (talk) 19:41, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Move vs. "merge". You should be able to look in the logs for the May 21 issues and see what I was talking about. Or not, because as indicated above constructive edits might also be a good use of time. Aloha. W Nowicki (talk) 17:24, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Again, no idea what you mean. I've been discussing project tasks on the project page.[2] Feel free to help. Viriditas (talk) 04:27, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
