Walrus Ji
Sir Many things has happened like barricading, stopping of water, food and electricity. Govt has stopped internet service and also took away portable toilets. Mahapanchayats have come in support too. Kindly keep updating- this is epic and probably the biggest protest in a democracy history of India. Congratulations for writing it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.170.238.171 (talk) 13:02, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

edit Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Republic TV, you may be blocked from editing. — Newslinger talk 11:39, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- Walrus Ji, your edit summary on that page doesn't make sense. The edit you're trying to revert has already been reverted long ago, and all your edit does is removing a well cited descriptor in the lead and moving it under a subsection. Tayi Arajakate Talk 15:03, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Tayi Arajakate and Newslinger:, I have explained my edit already on "User talk:Oshawott 12#Please stop restoring spam and false accusation against me". To answer your question, the edit I am trying to revert has only been partially reverted. Please check using this link. On clicking, and scrolling down the page, you will see an additional descriptor in the subsection. This new descriptor seems to have survived the reverts done before me. --Walrus Ji (talk) 15:52, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I got confused, your edit didn't remove it from the lead but instead from the subsection. The descriptor doesn't need to be removed from the subsection, ideally everything in the lead should be derived from the body. See WP:LEAD. Tayi Arajakate Talk 17:02, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Republic TV, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. — Newslinger talk 14:32, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
- Based on the clarification in User talk:Oshawott 12 § Please stop restoring spam and false accusation against me, I've downgraded the above message to a lower-level warning. However, in Special:Diff/989393149, you removed a citation to a high-quality academic source with an inaccurate edit summary (the edit did not undo revision 988494866), and generated a citation template error. In Special:Diff/989490836, you removed a word and a citation of the same academic source from the article body with a similarly inaccurate edit summary. — Newslinger talk 14:32, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Tayi Arajakate and Newslinger:, Please take a look at this edit when "right wing" was wrongly introduced in the criticism section. The first diff you listed happened when I had faced some kind of an error while undoing the original edit, it seems the content that I had cut did not get pasted and I failed to notice and cure it. In both of my edits that you listed, I was trying to move the word "right wing" to its original location. Please compare the old and the current version of the article in this link, scrolling down to the criticism section you will see that the recently introduced word "right wing" is yet to be removed from the criticism section of the article. I still believe my edit was completely justified, and was in line according to this talk page discussion. For doing the agreed upon edit, you have now given this warning. Do you still believe this new warning is justified? Walrus Ji (talk) 15:24, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for your clarification. I've struck the amended warning as well. In the future, if you ever need to revise an edit summary to clarify a previous edit, the preferred way to do this is to make a dummy edit on the page. I hope this helps. — Newslinger talk 15:39, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you recently removed content from Mohan Bhagwat without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Kautilya3 (talk) 22:43, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Mohan Bhagwat. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Krishna, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Fixed succession boxes
editHi. When using "succession boxes", there should be a {{S-start}}
, one or more {{Succession box}}
, and then a {{S-end}}
. In five articles you recently edited, you put additional {{S-start}}
templates before each {{Succession box}}
and also did not add an ending {{S-end}}
. I've corrected them at:
- Special:Diff/994673576
- Special:Diff/994673716
- Special:Diff/994673965
- Special:Diff/994674072
- Special:Diff/994674167
—[AlanM1 (talk)]— 23:15, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi AlanM1, my apologies for missing the S-end. This is the first time I have used this template. It seems I forgot to add it in some pages but added in others. I will be more careful with the S-end in future. Nevertheless, I am so glad that you were able to spot the error and fix it up for me. Just curious how did you find the error, as it was not visible by looking on the published page. Atleast I could not spot anything missing from the published page. Asking it as knowing this will help me spot the error in future. Thanks for cleaning up behind me.--Walrus Ji (talk) 03:15, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- There's a tool that finds and reports on syntax problems, some of which are not always visible, but have the potential to cause problems in the future. The reports can be seen at Special:LintErrors. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 19:48, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Wikiquote
editI’m curious what your reasoning was in removing the Wikiquote link on University of Missouri article? Grey Wanderer (talk) 17:27, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Grey Wanderer:, I just made a dummy edit clarifying it. Thanks for bringing this to my notice. My apologies for the confusion caused due to the incomplete edit summary. I took care of it in most edits. This was one of those where I missed to add the links. If you believe that the Wikiquote page is useful for the reader, you may re-add it stating the same in the edit summary. I have no objections. Happy holidays. --Walrus Ji (talk) 17:32, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
Is local politicians notable
editSaw your comment on my talk page. When I went through the Notability about politicians, I saw that just being the mayor of a small town does not make anyone notable. Thats why I nominated it for deletions. And about WP:Before, I read about the article yesterday and did a research. And about this edit and this AfD edit, the first one is also a mayor; so I compared these both and went for the AFD of the latter one. I agree with your suspicion. It can happen. Feel free to add your comment at the AFD. Thankyou Shahoodu (talk) 10:08, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Article blanked by the author while article at AfDs
editHi! A page in AfD can be blanked if it has some blatant violation, like copyright, BLP, hoax, etc. But otherwise blanking articles while in AfD is considered disruptive and is no different than blanking any other article. It doesn't matter if the blanking is done by the page author or not, they don't own the article. There is only one G7 case where they really are the only substantial author. But nominating a page for AfD is most certainly a substantial edit especially since other editors have commented in AfD. With these clearly non-notable cases like Aashid, in practice no one really cares if the author further messes with the page or blanks it since no one is going to edit it anyway. But strictly speaking blanking should not be done. This is even written in bold on the AfD template. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 17:45, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hellknowz, first of all the heading on this page should say "Restoring the blanking of the article by the author." because clearly no AfDs were blanked. The current header is misleading and should be changed. I clearly disagree with you when you say that AfD tag is a substantial edit. It is not, it is just a procedural edit. Anything worthwhile on the page is still written by the author. Please point me to the rule if there is one. I believe the G7 reason still holds.
- Yes you are right about the no blanking written in the AfD template. So I have self reverted myself. I hope your concern is now resolved. Is there anything else I can do to help you? Walrus Ji (talk) 17:58, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hellknowz, The admin speedy deleted the page, with the same reasons as listed in the CSD tags. He agreed that the CSD rationale were applicable. Walrus Ji (talk) 05:35, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, it's applicable, I never said otherwise. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 11:04, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hellknowz, ok. Reading your comment I got an impression that you were objecting to the blanking as well as applicability of the CSD tags here. Walrus Ji (talk) 12:27, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

Grover no 1
editHi Walrus Ji, Can you restore the contents of the page Aashid to a draft. [[User:Grover no 1|Grover no 1]] ([[User talk:Grover no 1|talk]]). (talk) 03:41, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Grover no 1, I have no authority or power to do that. You will need to talk to the deleting admin. --Walrus Ji (talk) 05:19, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Grover no 1, I am curious why you would want to do that? Draft is not a place to keep non notable or deleted articles. It is only a place to improve articles that are notable but need some clean up before moving it to the article space. Walrus Ji (talk) 05:37, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

editA discussion is taking place to address the redirect Capitol insurrection. - There are a few other delete !votes, so I procedurally cannot withdraw the nomination, which is the only thing I could really do there. You can talk to an uninvolved admin about trying to get a WP:SNOW close there. Consensus clearly goes against me, which happens to all of us every once in a while. Hog Farm Bacon 19:39, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hog Farm, I see. If you no longer agree with your nomination, you can at least, strike it off. An admin, may close it sooner considering your WP:WITHDRAWL and overwhelming Keep !votes. Walrus Ji (talk) 20:26, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

- Fylindfotberserk, Is this tabby cat or ginger cat? Does it bite ? Walrus Ji (talk) 17:50, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- A Ginger tabby. Gingers are most friendly and tabbys are most intelligent of the cats. He'll bite you sometimes, but affectionately or if you pat him too much! - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:07, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Fylindfotberserk, Great. friendly and intelligent, sounds like the type of cat for me. Biting for petting
- 😨 How would I know I am reaching its petting limit? and any warning sign before the bite? Walrus Ji (talk) 18:36, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Firstly, tail-wagging (the scale in this case) is different for a cat than a dog. When you continuously keep petting/cuddling them, they start wagging their tails which increases in proportion to how much they are irritated. After sometime, they will bite you softly and lick you (level 1 warning ). If you continue, they bite harder and harder.. may even scratch you... And remember not to touch their bellies (it can be done only when they are sleepy, not a good good thing to do when they are fully asleep), also not their paws, tails,.. basically they only like to be touched on their head, face, upper back. ← Instruction for pet or a friendly cat only . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:02, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Fylindfotberserk, never knew belly rubs were a no no for the cat. Dogs love the belly rubs a lot. Would keep this big difference in mind. You seem to have a deep knowledge of cat behavior. Will certainly consult you when I adopt one. Roughly how much per month is the cost of their maintenance + food etc. Walrus Ji (talk) 20:34, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, those are the general rules. Not to mention, they have quite a character, different individually (obviously). Cats are obligate carnivores, so they do not get much nutrition from plant matter like the dogs, but milk and meat mixed with rice or pieces of roti works in cases. Mine is more obligate than other cats. The only plant matter he eats is grass . If you are a non-veg then the maintenance cost will be reduced to half. For me (non-veg) it is 1000-1200 extra on wet and dry food apart form usual meet and fish (boiled as per vet's instructions). If you are a vegetarian, you've to rely on packaged wet and dry food (many available in Amazon). The cost may go up to 2000/-. Also you can use a little bit of rice to bulk up the meal, but should take care whether s/he likes it or not. (Mine is extremely fussy). Also you can get milk+rice (not every cat likes it tho), mostly liked by kitten and young adults. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:02, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

Jaskeerat2302, I have had some strong disagreement with the way GSS is editing on that page. He summarily reverted my edits and restored fake news and poor sources with defective content added by DavidWood. That said, I engaged with him on the talk page. I found that he is open to discussion and does participate if you raise your concern. It is unfortunate to see that another edit war is going on, on this controversial page. I think it is not appropriate to report right now, please try discussion first. I will suggest that you withdraw your admin report and instead start a discussion on the talk page. I am going to start a talk page thread on Talk:2021 Farmers' Republic Day parade#Death of the protestor, please respond there. If the discussion fails to find a WP:Dispute Resolution then you can report. But now please join the discussion. Walrus Ji (talk) 18:28, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

- You mean this book? I am surprised it isn't available. I can send you screenshots of pages, if you tell me which ones you need. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:07, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Ways to improve List of NDTV personnel
editHello, Walrus Ji,
Thank you for creating List of NDTV personnel.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
The lead in the list doesn't tell us what country the NDTV Prime operates in, also beside their names maybe their role such as news anchor, weatherman etc. could be added
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}

editSpeedy deletion
editSpeedy deletion of User:Walrus Ji Sneh Vatsa (talk) 14:57, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- Why? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:30, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
I noticed the same. And I ask the same question. I hope I am not abusing this function, but could someone help? Tanyasingh (talk) 15:42, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Tanyasingh: I'm responding to your use of {{help}} here, but you haven't indicated what you want help with. This template is best used on your own user talk page. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 16:01, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
With all due respect, Mr. Walrus had nominated my userpage on Wikipedia for speedy deletion in a vindictive way. Therefore, I, in the light of torment too placed a request for his being removed off the Wikipedia. I seek your earnest pardon for if this be a wrong measure. Regards Sneh Vatsa.
