Firearm
Hi. I've redirected to M16 rifle after a quick Google search for the rifle. In future if you find something like this, Google the topic, then search for an appropriate redirect. If none exist and the article seems notable and verifiable, mark as a stub in an appropriate category. If it doesn't match the above criteria and makes no assertion of notability, mark for speedy deletion (Particularly CSD A1 or CSD A7) if applicable, prod or nominate for deletion. Thanks for your alert - any other questions, I'm usually around :). ck lostsword • T • C 00:25, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Well I'm not sure I have that game anymore but I'll certainly try to find it. I'm pretty sure Buffo's name comes from being a buffing brush. Gladrius 05:51, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Merging
In this case I'd suggest not, because one is a list of steamships and one is a list of sailing vessels; that's a sharp distinction, and both lists are quite long enough. I just checked how other countries are handled, and I see that the distinction is also made there. It isn't really helpful to disturb long-standing arrangements like this, unless there's a really good reason, or you have a much better arrangement to propose. And there's actually a WP practice that every one of these ships would qualify for an individual article. DGG 22:05, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Gamesaving needs refernces, and i don't know the subject well enough to know if it is notable or not. Vandalism is not a good reason to delete an otherwise valid articel. If you have good reason to think this isn't notable, use {{prod}}, if you want the amtter discussed, you can alswas use afd. i have added an unrefernced tag, and put this on my watch list. If IP vandalism remains a problem, there is always semi-protection, which prevents editing by anyone not logged in. I see no reason to speedy delete at this time. DES (talk) 21:29, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

- I see. it's not a great article as it stands, but i've seen worse become good articles. If some refernces could be found demonstratign both that the practice is widespread and that thsi is the common term for it, that would be a good start. DES (talk) 21:36, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Spaces in wikilinks
Hiya. Saw this. For info, spaces in wikilinks are, I believe, academic if there is nothing else inside the link. e.g. [[cheese ]] still becomes cheese no matter how many spaces you ram in it. (see the markup to spot the extra spaces). The fix was a goodie, so this is just a bit of info. Ta! Pedro | Chat

Mazon
Give me one min here to look it over. One is the village, while the other is the actual township unless the township does not extend to the lands beyond the city limits.--Kranar drogin 03:47, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, looking these over, they are two differnt bodies of government. One is Mazon the village, while the other is Mazon the township. The village is 0.6 mi² while the township is 35.5 mi². The populations are also different (where the township also includes the 904 from the village). So honestly, you shouldn't do redirects. There are many other townships in the state that are named the same as a village or city in them, but are different. As far as the naming, we are doing it the same as the Ohio project, and the same as the US Census names. Now, if you want to change over 2,000+ articles to exclude the county, I think that is something else we are going to have to discuss.--Kranar drogin 03:53, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Re: Illinois Confusion
Don't worry about it, I didn't help matters any by adding in a redirect. Administrators have the capacity to undo moves by a process called histmerge, but that requires temporary deletion. If you ever need to merge article histories or undo moves, add {{db-g6}} or simply ask an admin for assistance. Anyway, everything seems to be all right now, thanks to Kranar drogin explaining the situation. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 20:11, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

"Are you certain all is well with John Żammit. Article seems to be written by the person himself which might be conflict of interest, but I'm not sure. -WarthogDemon 02:39, 4 July 2007 (UTC)"
- I'm not the least sure how notable he is, but it isn't a speedy for obvious lack of notability--From Google, he seems to be a local big shot in Malta. This isn't going to be easy to source--what I've just done is put a prod on to give time. It would help if you'd keep track--if someone removes the prod without improving it, p[lease send to AfD. Agreed, its COI, but that is not a reason for speedy. if someone with COI writes a really spammy article, then speedy for G11 spam is often applicable. If they're lazy, then copyvio is worth a look. But this is a sober article of dubious notability. Not everyone agrees with me, but I think speedy is only fair when it is unquestionably non-notable or altogether impossible on other grounds. I apologize for not putting on a prod immediately, but there's a large speedy backlog tonight and not enough admins seem to be around, & I want to help clear out the real trash before the holiday. Hi there; no, actually you didn't do it right. But no matter. When you want to report a username violation, then the place to do it is WP:UAA. But it is a natural mistake to make, because the page has not been up very long. Worry not, all is well.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 20:17, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Mudkip eggs
I placed them in their own article after any mention of them was removed from the Mudkip article several times. If the mudkip eggs clutter up the mudkip article too much, this is understandable objection and they can be moved to separate article, as I have done. User:Zaphraud 01:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Hello WarthogDemon. Regarding your change of my tag of First world problems from spam to nonsense, I would have liked to revert it to spam. This was an article advertising a book, written in the style of an adverstisement. It was coherent English - patent nonsense is something that makes little to no sense at all. As my friend User:Leebo would say:
"A page can be deleted as nonsense when it is simply a meaningless string of characters...
- Example given - $₯fe₠./₣- ƒ-j ₭ ₤ ℳ ₥ ₦ ₧ ₰ £ ៛ ₨ ₪ ৳ ₮ ₩ ¥ ♠ ♣ ♥ ♦
...or a collection of words that alone may exist in the dictionary, but together comprise an incoherent jumble.
- Example given - i butt blattnt plant {{butt}} gunna take iup spiders bagiones preeow oooofa and you prickly dance town monsters"
Thank you for your interest in correctly tagging this article, but I was going to revert it to spam when I found it was already deleted. Since I already had this typed up, I figured I would share my feelings with you any how. If you still disagree, please let me know and we can discuss it further. tags
Thanks for asking, and I apologize for not posting you notes at the time. I think you have a good eye for spotting unsuitable articles, so I had a little trouble finding them going back over the log, since most of the tagging was excellent. I also see you remove a tag of your own if you have second thoughts, which is far better than most people. If I see you've done a speedy, I generally would not remove the tag even if I thought it borderline, because I know we have slightly different philosophies, so I would let someone else decide. But I found on your contributions page:
- Nicholas F. Benton, and it has enough problems that I certainly should have placed a tag or two. So I've placed notability & COI tags & notified the author to get some refs in. But saying that someone is the editor of a newspaper is an assertion of notability--though not necessarily a strong one. This one could also be tagged G11, but please hold off a day to give him a chance to fix it, since I just notified him.
- John Żammit--this one we did discuss. He seemed to be possibly a big shot in Malta. I changed it to prod, and he was deleted. As it probably deserved, if nobody wanted to fix it.
- Sierra Legal Defence Fund is probably notable, if anyone would do the work. There seem to be a lot of possible directions there--there's strong cosponsorship.
- If you'll remind me of others?
In general, my idea is to remove the junk fast and work on anything rescuable. Of course, I myself cant work on more than 1 or 2 a day, so I concentrate where I have special interest or sourcing facilities or skill. If you will look at my deletion log you will see the sort of stuff I do delete.
- One minor point that came up with someone else--towns, villages, etc, are always notable, or so they keep saying at Afd. I can't say I really agree with the rule, but so it is, & there's no point tagging them. DGG (talk) 23:59, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
