Re: Marking Two Userpages For Deletion

When two pages (or more) are very similar, or will be deleted for very similar reasons, you can combine them all together into one WP:XFD as long as you leave a notice on every page that still links to the deletion discussion. In this case, User:Sikhcoalitionorg has been blocked for having an inappropriate username (one of a website). Both should be deleted for being inappropriate (see Wikipedia:User_page#What can I have on my user page.3F. Good luck, and happy editing! --Daniel Olsen 02:16, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. :) Seems like this will be easy in this case. The unblocked account just posted a spam artice. -WarthogDemon 02:19, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Re:Doppleganger

I wouldn't suggest doing a random password. If some admin asks you about the account or something, and requests something, it would be problematic if you didn't know the password. Just use a password that you're familiar with, and won't forget. Nishkid64 14:45, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. Turns out I don't need any; when I tried I got a message saying it was too close to my actual name. Other derivations were too close too. So I don't think I'll have to worry. Thanks again. :) -WarthogDemon 17:53, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Ah, they just don't get it...

Again, I cannot thank you enough for watching my back. This was a rather strange note, wasn't it? Imagine: Your own Wikipedia article for your birthday! Boggles the mind.  :) - Lucky 6.9 19:11, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

No prob. :) I'm keeping his reposted message up though since I don't want to violate 3RR, and since it's not complaining about the article. An article for a birthday gift?!? Doesn't sound like much of a gift in my opinion, even if it WAS allowed. -WarthogDemon 19:17, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Talk page deletion

Yes, but why delete a page that has your (valid) warning on it? The existence of the prior warning is important to know if the person starts creating more bad articles. NawlinWiki 20:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

A good point. I shall remember that. Thanks! -WarthogDemon 00:10, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: A Little Mess That I Had Not Noticed Until Now

"A week or two ago a user User:IBitOfBear was reporting a small dispute he had with me here: Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/. Apparently neither of us noticed that it wasn't the page to report cases and it has thus far gone unnoticed. The situation, I believe, has been resolved (I apologized and referred him to Elaragirl whose edit summary I misinterpreted in the first place. That aside, could you revert and move it to an appropriate page (or even scrap?) I would revert myself but since I was a part of it, I probably shouldn't." -WarthogDemon 20:34, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Done, a simple matter of reverting to a previous edit using the edit history. There's nothing wrong with cleaning up your own honest mistakes but thanks for taking the time to check with me - or any other admin, come to that! Regards, (aeropagitica) 20:39, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Videoking

What's the scoop on this user? Is s/he blanking then adding content to cover tracks a bit? (referring to the confusing history of Windows 98) — David Spalding ta!k y@wp/Contribs 02:40, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sure. The majority of his contributions had been blanking pages (including userpages) so I would say yes. Sorry if I myself violated 3RR though. -WarthogDemon 02:42, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Not at all, I looked at the user's contrib history and saw all the wreckage. And I remember some past nonsense from Videoking. So no worries.— David Spalding ta!k y@wp/Contribs

Thanks much for fixing my vandalized userpage! I didn't even get a chance to see it before it was already fixed! I hope it doesn't happen again, and thanks ever so much for the support! --LordHuffNPuff 03:41, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Userpages

Nothing to be sorry about. We all make mistakes, and I might be wrong but as far as I know you can do anything with your userpage and subpages (except, of course, for userboxes :]). Anyway, keep up the good job. Renata 04:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

OK, I think it's all cleaned up now. Let me know if she resurfaces. | Mr. Darcy talk 19:31, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Will do. Thanks. I'll be filing that incident to CheckUser, as soon as I figure if I should use Code B or F. -WarthogDemon 19:33, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
FWIW, if you want to delete Lynn Harless, put {{db-author}} on top and an admin (possibly me) will speedily-delete it. As for Jenny Morris (singer), you could change the link on Jenny Morris to point to Innosense something like:
  • Jenny Morris, former lead singer of the band Innosense
Let me know how that all works for you. | Mr. Darcy talk 20:24, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
I shall. I've also replied on talk page on this, plus a question. -WarthogDemon 20:43, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Lynn H has been deleted. The CU case is showing up on the main page for me; however, with both users blocked, the folks who do the checks may decline the case pending any new, active vandalism. Anyway, good work on all this, and thanks for bringing it to our attention. Let me know if I can help with anything else. | Mr. Darcy talk 20:46, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Minor musicians AfDs

If you think they should be redirected you can do so without an AfD. I think having disambigs to redirects is sometimes done and we make sure on the dab page to note what the redirect goes to. So it would be say something like Musician who a member of band Y. Regarding, Lynn H I'm not sure an entry is necessary even for a redirect but I know very little about the topic so I'll leave that for you to sort out. JoshuaZ 21:04, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Replied on talk page with question. -WarthogDemon 21:40, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
WP:MUSIC seems to find it fine to have some as redirects and some as not. Also, since they are on different pages so the lack of symmetry isn't too in one's face(at least to me). JoshuaZ 21:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for your input. I'll probably ask one more admin before I make my decision. (I still fear I'm biased after that sockpuppet issue...) -WarthogDemon 22:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Request on your last revert of your user page

So I upped the vandal count by 1. Since you requested clever vandalism this a) arguably isn't vandalism and so shouldn't increase the counter b) if it is vandalism then the counter should be increased but then it shouldn't be etc. Hooray for paradoxes. The solution might be to deem the edit meta-vandalistic. JoshuaZ 01:47, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Really? Darn, I was hoping that was original. Now I know I'm just another copycat vandal...JoshuaZ 01:49, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Well . . . I could claim this is you making fun of me after vandalising my page. No other vandal has done that, so that would make you a revolutionary vandal. :D -WarthogDemon 01:51, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Farley Enterprises Article

This is not meant to be blatant advertisement. (Although it must seem blatant for you to mark it as such so quickly) This is simply a work in progress. This is also my first wikipedia article, so I am certainly not an expert yet. So, as such, I have a couple of questions. Is there any way to create the article in chunks instead of creating it all at once? Also, is there a certain template it has to match up with in order to be considered a legitimate entry? As I said before and mentioned on the article's talk page, it is meant for informational purposes (Just like the rest of wikipedia entries). If there is something I could do to allow it's remaining on the website, I would be happy to oblige. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yerok (talkcontribs).

Re: Uncertainty With Notability

Re your message: My personal opinion is that the four are not notable enough for their own articles. I don't think a redirect is really necessary either, but that's just my opinion. I would also question the notability of the innosense band itself. As noted in the article, they didn't hit many charts (would help if there were stats on where it charted). It's only apparent claim to fame was their link to Britney Spears. It's one of those borderline things. You could always put the AfD up yourself. I looked at the AfDs that were put up and those were indeed not nicely done. =\ -- Gogo Dodo 06:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Replied on talk page. -WarthogDemon 07:23, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Re your message: I think the band is one of those borderline notability thing. I don't have an issue with it existing due to that it did hit one chart somewhere (you sure you can't find a record of it?) and there is the Britney Spears connection. I don't think the people themselves are notability enough to warrant their own page since their only claim to notability is the band. And the ex-member even more so. Kind of likes 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. =) Asking Lucky 6.9 what his opinion is would be fine with me. I highly respect his opinion. On a side note, my being an admin shouldn't make my opinion matter more (or less).-- Gogo Dodo 08:43, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. ^_^ Replied on your talk page about the source. -WarthogDemon 03:34, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Re your message: If it was a single station's Top 10 caller requested list, then that would not make the band notable per item #2 of WP:MUSIC as the music chart is supposed to be national. I think the band's only claim to notability is per item #6 with their connection to Britney Spears. -- Gogo Dodo 05:29, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Replying once more on talk page. -WarthogDemon 05:30, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of article "Foals (band)"

Hi, I see you deleted the article that I created on Foals. You deleted it writing on my talk page that the band wasn't notable enough to be included in Wikipedia and also mentioned citing sources. Considering I gave links to an article by a respected music website on their forthcoming tour and also gave links to other pages I'm not quite sure why you chose to take the course of action you took. Maybe it's an article that should have been put to a vote in the Candidates for Deletion page? If you could reply to this that would be great :) TG312274 16:08, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

It was actually User:Gogo Dodo who deleted it; I merely tagged it. I suggest you read WP:MUSIC before recreating your article, and make sure it meets the criteria. If you think it does, feel free to bring it up with User:Gogo Dodo about contesting it. -WarthogDemon 01:25, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

You mean you're not a warthog...? Ah, but seriously, NPP is total, complete and utter chaos. I want to add a new article or two, but I can't think of a thing to write about. I just did one at the R/C wiki about a little custom-built adapter board called the "PowerZone" that takes the pulsed motor drive current from the proprietary electronics of certain electic model aircraft and converts it into a signal that a discrete electronic speed control will understand. Works like a charm on my E-flite Blade CP now that I actually know how to fly the thing. The PowerZone lets me use the stock electronics with a brushless motor and zowie! I have a fast, highly manueverable little machine that blasts in a straight line at a good 40 mph. I have a feeling that the mighty Wikipedia is too large a place for this little gem, despite the fact that it'll dovetail nicely with the radio controlled aircraft category, IMO. Might have to start patrolling the requested articles page instead. Anyway, it's late and I'm rambling so I'll bid you good night with my undying thanks and gratitude. - Lucky 6.9 08:51, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
