Re your message: Thanks! Speaking of thanks, when I hit 10,000 edits, I told myself that I would leave a note to the various people I've run into on Wikipedia that have made an impact on my time here. Just wanted to say thanks. You're doing a great job RC patrolling. =) If there is anything else I can help you with, feel free to ask. -- Gogo Dodo 00:48, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

re Flights.com

C'mon man. You know we get tons of articles from people trying to promote websites, thus we are very sensitive to spam. Read WP:WEB and if you really think that flights.com meets the notability requirements, message me. Herostratus 04:55, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

My main concern was the article read a little (but not completely, granted) like an advert. That and plus I was half following the lead of a major editor, User:Lucky 6.9. If we're both mistaken in this instance, I'll take down the tag. And thank you for the link. -WarthogDemon 05:00, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Oops, my bad. I mistakenly thought that you were the person who had created the article and was contesting its deletion. Sorry, I misread the history, nevermind. No you tagged the article correctly. Herostratus 05:19, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah, no prob. Yeah I was wondering why you said "meets the notability" instead of "doesn't meet the notability." No harm done. :) -WarthogDemon 05:48, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I did not want to attack you, as long as you are not administrator but even if you are, you guys need to think twice before accusing somebody they are posting spam here or anything like that...( i had many problems with administrators in the past, you have no idea), that's better, but yea, i think that link i added has merits, lets vote on it, if not, i will put something else instead, sounds fair? Leave a message on that talk page and see how people reply, let's see if majority agrees, if not i will give you some links you think are appropriate, more than happy to talk about it. I will return, no later than monday. I do think, some video is good. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.107.220.170 (talkcontribs) .

I checked on it with another editor to confirm, so she'll be the one deciding. -WarthogDemon 23:49, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
If she agrees, than this is temporary majority, but, i do not know, you may be right 100%, but then again, hollywoodland is nothing but theory and theory after theory... If majority decides it's ok, but you need to ask others, you are administrators, you support each other, like cops and donuts.* —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.107.220.170 (talkcontribs) .
  • Both Warthog and I are regular users not administrators. The reason why we are removing the YouTube link is because it is a direct copyright violation (stated in the page I provided for you). The only reason why Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia is because it strives not to violate copyrights.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:00, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Not really, you can not violate copyrght, if somebody uploaded private video on yutube or its public domain. And you are administrators. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.99.1.4 (talkcontribs) .
I am NOT an admin! X_X Admins can delete pages. I can't. Admins can block users. I can't. Admins can protect pages. I can't. Admins can say, "I am an Admin." and according to Wikipedia's policy, that's something I really can't! -WarthogDemon 21:55, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks (2)

Thanks for reverting that odd comment on my Talk page. And to answer your other question, I don't count Talk page weird comments or vandalism on my counter. However, I did forget to increment it earlier, so your count is correct. =) -- Gogo Dodo 00:52, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

No problem. :) And I'm hoping it's fair that I count vandalism on my user/talk/subpages as vandalism. (Though I'm carefull if it's my talk page; disagreements aren't always "insults" and "attacks" of course.) -WarthogDemon 00:55, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Just wanted to help you stay civil is all. Peace. -WarthogDemon 00:47, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Good work

Have a cup of tea on me.

Dropping off a nice cup of tea to say I saw you out hard at work; you are doing a great job and it is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, and if I can be of any help to you, please let me know. Essjay (Talk) 06:49, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. :) -WarthogDemon 00:47, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

innosense

You may indeed ask. This page went through an Articles for Deletion discussion, from which the decision to redirect the title to Innocence, a wholly different subject, was reached. The number of pages which link to an article is no measure of its noteworthiness; that must come from outside sources. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (music) for the criteria which determine if a band is noteworthy or not. Thanks for your comment. Denni talk 02:18, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

After reviewing the prior afd (which was about a much stubbier version of the article), I undeleted the page. I think it needs to be expanded pretty quickly or it is likely to get put up for a second afd. Thanks, NawlinWiki 02:38, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Well, the general discussion of sources is at Wikipedia:Verifiability. In general, look for pages that are not just one person's opinion (like blogs or the band's own page). Any reviews in Variety, allmusic, etc.? NawlinWiki 02:46, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Looks good to me now. The allmusic.com cites are sufficient, and Britney Spears' former membership in the group is enough to make them notable. Nice work! NawlinWiki 17:15, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Very weird edits you made

What did you mean by this edit? Why are you accusing me of vandalizing a user page? What user page? I left a warning on an IP vandal's talk page, the same vandal who is now posting personal attacks against me (1 and [1]) You reverted the IP comments reverted. But the vandal warning under my name is still on their talk page. What on earth is going on? --Kathryn NicDhàna 07:03, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Pardon? I never said you vandalized anyone's page. He vandalized yours and I was giving him a warning. I'm not exacty sure what the IP address was doing. >_> If I made an accusation towards you then I apologize as you didn't do anything wrong. I was only telling the IP to stop harassing you. -WarthogDemon 07:06, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah, my mistake. All apologies and thanks for reverting and warning the vandal. When I read the warning on the IP vandal's page, I didn't know they had vandalized my userpage. I misinterpreted the User:Kathryn NicDhàna as addresssing it to me. I've had some vandals do strange things like that, and it took me a few moments to figure it out. Thanks again for your excellent work, and I apologize again for my confusion. :-)--Kathryn NicDhàna 07:12, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah okay. No prob and no harm done lol. Glad I could help. ^__^ -WarthogDemon 07:17, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

your note

Thanks for your note. I know what you mean about the name, but if you hadn't have typed it, it wouldn't have got the quick response it did. Keep up the good work. Bucketsofg 22:57, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

WTF

WTF did I do wrong on Justin Duchscherer's page —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Serlmano (talkcontribs) .

Unless the person you were referring to is someone of high notability, it's not notable information. -WarthogDemon 01:22, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

About Pavelushakov

Why did you list Pavelushakov for blocking at Administrator intervention against vandalism? The article on his talk page was just to "prove" that he wasn't spamming. He wasn't trying to spam on his talk page as well. --wj32 talk | contribs 05:51, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Well I have previously seen accounts used as spam to be deleted, so I was thinking this case would qualify as well. (Wasn't positive; hence I put a question mark in the edit summary.) Sorry if I was mistaken. -WarthogDemon 05:53, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
Mmm, people put spam on their user pages? You've taught me something :) --wj32 talk | contribs 06:01, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
They have been known to do that. (Not too often, granted.) -WarthogDemon 06:02, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks (3)

Thanks again for looking after my user page. =) -- Gogo Dodo 21:57, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Once again, not a problem. :) -WarthogDemon 22:43, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Re: Not Completely Sure This Is Harrassment

Re your message: It's certainly uncivil. I think he's leaning towards being reported. -- Gogo Dodo 22:50, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

In that case I'll try to keep an eye on him but not report him yet. I rarely report if a vandal's latest attack is against me. Makes me feel vain. -WarthogDemon 22:53, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Gogo Dodo's RfA

Hi there. I just wanted to say that I believe Gogo is being overly modest about his contributions on Wikipedia. I mean...if he is only a vandal-fighter, than how can he possibly have 100+ edits to multiple articles? Surely, he must be an article-builder as well. Here's the 10 most frequently pages edited by Gogo:

315	List of experiments from Lilo & Stitch
121	Survivor: Cook Islands
46	Survivor: Panama
37	List of Dirty Jobs episodes
30	University of California, Irvine
29	List of The Unit episodes
26	SpongeBob SquarePants
20	SpongeBob SquarePants (character)
19	Deadliest Catch
19	Patrick Star
18	The Unit
17	Irvine, California
17	Johnny Benson
14	Northgate High School (Walnut Creek, California)
13	Dirty Jobs

I just wanted to show you this as you said you were neutral but leaning towards support, and I thought this might push you over to supporting the user. Nishkid64 00:16, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

I'll probably stick to neutral for now. I worry about my vote being biased as on being on good terms with a editor whom I consider a friend on here. If it gets near a tie though, I'll move my vote to Support. -WarthogDemon 00:44, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Re: Uploading Images From A Website

Generaly speaking no. I know there are hundreds if not thousands of such images around the place, but recently we have been trying to enforce the fair use criterea more strictly and one of the points there is that we only accept fair use (aka unfree) images if it is not possible to create or find a free licensed photo that would convey the same information. Generaly speaking unfree material that is only used to show what the subject(s) look like will fail that test, sice it's usualy possible to photograph the members during various events (possible exceptions might be if the image is used to iulstrate a secton about a particular style/gimic the artist(s) used to have in the past but have since abandoned, or some historic event and things like that). Iff you are reasonably sure the image pass all of Wikipedias fair use criterea for your intended use then it should be acceptable to upload. Likely tags will be either {{promotional}} (if taken from a press kit or "for the media" or simmilar section of the website) or {{fair use in|article}} if it's just a "ranom" image used on theyr website rater than something that's intended for "media use". Consider asking them to release a photo under a suitable free license before resorting to a fair use claim though. Sometimes people actualy agree to do that (be carefull to get a explicit comfirmation that it can be used by anyone under a spesific free license, not just "ok to use on Wikipedia" or simmilar), and free licensed images can be used -- well feely, without worrying about rationales and critical commentary and all that ;) --Sherool (talk) 00:38, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Ack, then it won't be possible then. Because despite being the official website, it's been since abandoned and there doesn't seem to be a place to contact them anywhere. Oh well, thanks for the heads up. ^_^ -WarthogDemon 00:42, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Nope

I don't think its that important but if they want they can practice it on there pages until they actually put it to a public space on wikipedia, so it can look convincing or important to let it go. Nareklm 03:13, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

I've marked most with a dbbio tag except on Gail Simmons. I think that article could possibly be made notable. -WarthogDemon 03:17, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Reverting user page blanking.

Many thanks. Mark83 00:49, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

User:Consejero

Thanks for spotting that one. I believe I have cleared up the worst of it. If I've missed anything or the user reappears, let me know. Best, Gwernol 02:06, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

No prob. I'll keep an eye out. -WarthogDemon 02:12, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks (4)

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my page. I know the guy who did it, and I guess it was a joke, bu thanks for reverting it nonetheless. aido2002 03:03, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

No prob. :) -WarthogDemon 03:13, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Horseshoe Theory

When you have a moment, can you take a look at this article and give me your opinion? I tagged it as original research, and placed a warning on the author's talk page about Wikipedia policy on OR (this is his first contribution), but I am wondering if there is more I should do. Is there a speedy category that would fit? I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks for your time. ---Charles 05:36, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, db-essay might be a good template to use. (Or db|essay; There's a template that says "this reads like an essay" but I keep forgetting what it is.) If nothing else, I suppose you could AfD it. Heh, found the template: {{Essay-Entry}}.-WarthogDemon 05:44, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm... no, the {{Essay|Entry}} template is not appropriate here... it refers to Wikipedia policy, not articles that read like essays. Thanks, though. ---Charles 06:02, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
My bad. ^_^; No prob; just wish I could've been more help. -WarthogDemon 07:01, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
No worries. If you think of anything, do let me know. Cheers! ---Charles 19:31, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Just so you know, I submitted this for AfD: [[2]]. Just in case you'd like to make your opinions known. ---Charles 02:52, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Can't sleep, it's 9:38

That was an amazing edit you did. Wow. This truly shows the speed of Wikipedia. I had just finished editing the page. It was during those few seconds when I finished editing to the time I went to check if it was on the actual page itself that you moved it. Mere seconds later, I get a message on my talk page from you informing me of what you had done. You are now officially on my "Don't vandalize" list. By the way, your user page is by far the best page - user related or otherwise - I've ever seen. You seem the most like me of any of the users I have ever come into contact with. Don't worry, I don't want to be friends with you, this isn't MySpace. I'm just saying. --Free-encyclopedia 02:38, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks and not a problem! -WarthogDemon 08:49, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

I would like to thank you for reverting vandalism on my user page. --Meno25 03:32, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

No problem at all. ^_^ -WarthogDemon 08:49, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks a lot

Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my user and user talk pages! And for updating my vandalism count! :-) --Db099221 04:12, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

No prob. :)

Talk page messages

Hi. Whether you leave a message or not is up to you; I don't bother leaving one if I don't think the user is going to read it. The message that I'm leaving is one I've written myself; as far as I know there is no template for it. You're welcome to adapt my message or create one of your own, but there's no requirement to leave a message. Hope this clears things up – Gurch 05:02, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah okay. I was wondering if I wasn't doing something correctly. ^_^; —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WarthogDemon (talkcontribs).

Justin Duchscherer

It's just information, man. Not vandalism. Is a cited website and background info on Justin Duchscherer's career not good enough for you? You don't deserve to be an A's fan. serlmano 05:31, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Beg your pardon? The revert in question refers to a fact that there is someone in the bleechers in every game. Everything but that is notable. -WarthogDemon 05:33, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Re:Noticed You Were Testing Your Userpage

My test was successful, actually. Until this test, I wasn't aware that the software would automatically fill in edit summaries if you blank a page or replace it completely with new content (you may have already known this). (Note that I didn't write those two edit summaries myself, they were added for me.) So, that's the result of my test. Heimstern Läufer 05:55, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah okay. -WarthogDemon 08:49, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks (5)

Thanks for reverts on that very persistent vandal. =)

And thank you for the barnstar, too. I'm honored. =) Sorry about beating you to the punch. ;) I won't be doing that for awhile as I'm signing off now that those two IPs are blocked. See you around! =) -- Gogo Dodo 08:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Please, please, PLEASE...

Tell you what: You watch my back and I'll watch yours. These doggone kids are driving me nuts; I tried taking a break and look at my talk page! It's already full of nonsense. I tell you, Jimbo really needs to reconsider the whole notion of "open content" at this point. Far, far more than half the stuff coming in on NPP is pure crap. Also, three of my six features have devolved into former features. This is fun?!?  :) - Lucky 6.9 04:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Will do! I was looking over the history of your page and trying to figure out which ones I should revert and which ones I shouldn't, so hopefuly I won't end up muddling your page. O.o And yes, this is slighty fun for me. Probably because A) I'm barely a 2 month member, and B) Small repetitive tasks I like to do at times. ;) -WarthogDemon 04:14, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Which reminds me: I still need to nominate you for an adminship. Now I'm getting flack from a user with one previous edit. From last June. Thank God I'm on vacation next week. - Lucky 6.9 04:39, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
If it's alright, I'm still thinking the adminship nomination over. I'm going to have a busy schedule in a few months and not sure if I'd be able to be a regular admin. Plus I've only been a memeber for 2 months. Mainly I'm worried that I won't be able to log a daily time required. >_>; (It's an honor to even be consdered though. ^_^) Oh, and getting flack from something 5 months ago is nothing. On DeviantArt.com, someone once got flack he made on a art comment made a full year and a half prior. ;) Back to the adminship though. If you think that a busy schedule (such as college) won't be too much of a problem, then I'll be honored if you be nominated. :) -WarthogDemon 04:44, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thank you for that quick revert and move on my user page. I appreciate it. ---Charles 05:51, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
