Orphaned non-free image File:Pokethulhu frontcover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Pokethulhu frontcover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 04:41, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good adds!  :) Have you seen what I've been doing with Orcus lately? BOZ (talk) 19:38, 27 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I poke in every once in a while and pay attention to what is going on. I'll add more refs as I find them. My son is very into dragons, so we get a lot of dragon books now. Help shore up those refs! Web Warlock (talk) 21:37, 27 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nymph (Dungeons & Dragons) in White Dwarf?

edit

From the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Dungeons & Dragons, it seemed like you had access to post-TSR UK copies of White Dwarf magazines, I was wondering if you could check (or recall coming across) anything that would help with the Nymph (Dungeons & Dragons) article? I'm trying to see if I can find some independent sources for it, and I've found some, but I'm not quite confident that it's enough, and I was wondering if you knew of any sources that would help? - SudoGhost 23:26, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I may also have this. I'll have to take a look and get back to you on that. Thanks for helping out! BOZ (talk) 23:52, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I would need the issue number though, if you can find one. BOZ (talk) 23:54, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I will look, thanks for the heads up. I have WD from issue 1 to 100, missing about 4 here and there. I am in the process of rereading Issue 29 right now. I know that Issue 13 covers them, but that is smack in the middle of their agreement with TSR. Web Warlock (talk) 07:07, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bushido (role-playing game), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dragon Magazine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Your recent AfD comments

edit

Hi, I saw your commentary here, and thought that it would be better to respond on this page than there. The relevant (and overly strict IMHO) notability standard for many pornography articles on Wikipedia is PORNBIO, which unfortunately excludes "Nominations and awards in scene-related and ensemble categories" or non-final round nominations from consideration. There are also unfortunately a bunch of deletionists that have been active on the pornography pages/discussions for apparently a while now. Some of them aren't even a part of the Pornography project, but many are on display in the above-linked AfD. Some users that are even in the Pornography project unfortunately aren't always sympathetic to letting articles grow over time. Good luck... Guy1890 (talk) 23:55, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Deletionists are one of the reasons I don't bother adding anything to Wikipedia anymore. What the point when some editor with a grudge or on a crusade will just delete for the flimsiest of reasons. Web Warlock (talk) 13:22, 16 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Assumptions of bad faith at AfD

edit

Hi. I noticed that at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Vecna, you have accused the nominator of acting in bad faith. You've also exhibited a similar behavior recently at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Luthic, where you've speculated on/personally attacked the nominator. Please understand that accusations of bad behavior without proper evidence, and made outside of conduct discussion forums, are inappropriate personal attacks. You can (and actually should) express you disagreement on the deletion without resorting to name-calling.Folken de Fanel (talk) 21:20, 4 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Fallon (actress)

edit

The article Fallon (actress) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails PORNBIO and the GNG. No qualifying awards. Only claim of notability is thinly sourced, dubious, and essentially kayfabe.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Gary Gygax into Troll Lord Games. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:20, 18 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much for the heads up on this! I'll get that added as soon as I can. Web Warlock (talk) 15:23, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

You uploaded, File:Gary Gygax and Stephen Chenault at Gen Con 2003.jpg, where you either stated or implied that you had permission of a third party to upload it; or that evidence of such permission would be provided on request.

Unless there's some record of that permission, it's harder to confirm if any given permission is genuine. Wikipedia currently needs the permission to be explicitly proven at the time of upload, and recorded in the OTRS permission queue, for this reason.

Please read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission, which advises on how to confirm permissions you obtained from a third party.

It is also advisable to ask the third-party what source attribution they desire, as opposed to marking the image as having been "sent personally".

If permission is not confirmed, and recorded as detailed above, the media may have to be removed so that Wikipedia stays in compliance with copyright law and policy in some jurisdictions. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 13:27, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
