Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Distinktion (Journal)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Distinktion (Journal) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www1.svt.ntnu.no/nsajournals/?p=623. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Mentorship, asking for help and guidance
editHello, I've noticed that one of the drafts you've created is currently being nominated for deletion. I know how frustrating this can be. It's quite normal for new users to have their pages deleted - it happened to me once, so please don't be discouraged because of this. I just wanted to let you know, if you need someone to show you around, you can always ask me at my talk page. I recommend playing the Wikipedia Adventure for a short tutorial on how to edit and the basic rules around here. If you have any questions about editing Wikipedia, you can also ask someone at the teahouse. And if you want a full one-on-one mentorship course, tell me on my talk page and I'll either guide you personally or find someone else to help you because I'm busy with school. Every user faces problems like this, so please do not be discouraged. Thank you, Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 14:17, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
Distinktion (Journal)
editContact me on my talk page if you want the code for the infobox, and guidance on what need doing apart from the copyright - the article is spammy and sourced only to the publisher, not an independent third-party source Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:08, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
OK, the problems
- the article title is incorrect. It should be just Distinktion. Parentheses are used only to distinguish articles with otherwise identical names, that is not the case here
- The article was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient. But in any case the copyrighted text is far too promotional to be useful for Wikipedia's purposes, so there would not be any point in your jumping through all the hoops that are required.
- it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Your references were all to the journal's publisher, hardly an independent third party source. There can't be evidence of notability if it's only mentioned by its publisher
- it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of spammy claims form the publisher presented as fact include: publishes articles that make a substantial contribution to contemporary social theory
- Your category formatting is incorrect, there shouldn't be a colon. Don't invent categories for the publisher.
Code for infobox follows here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:01, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Randykitty (talk) 18:52, 13 February 2019 (UTC)The article Abbeydale Brewery has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable brewpub.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Barkeep49 (talk) 21:51, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
Abbeydale Brewery moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Abbeydale Brewery, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. Currently it only has 2 primary sources and simply reads as a promotional brochure. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. editHello Welshentag1. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Social Policy & Society, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Welshentag1. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Welshentag1|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Please also see WP:CITESPAM to understand why recent edits were reverted. – NJD-DE (talk) 19:27, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- I assume this is where I reply? I am not being compensated, whether directly or indirectly, for any edits, contributions, or involvement in my interactions with Wikipedia in any way. I'm not sure why that impression would have been made, but if there is any further information you need from me, please ask and I shall happily supply it, so as to clarify any misgivings or uncertainties. Welshentag.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Welshentag1 (talk • contribs) 23:17, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Your recents edits consisted only of citespamming references to an article published by John Welsh. Also you created and edited the article Social Policy & Society in which John Welsh published. Geopolitics (journal), Globalizations, Subjectivity (journal) and Power and Education are articles created by you and all journals in which Welsh published. Based on this I assume you have an external relationship with John Welsh, and a conflict of interest that you'd need to disclose. Also you are considered a paid-editor on Wikipedia if you aren't compensated for your edits, but have some form of financial relationship (best example is an employee who edits their employer's article on Wikipedia afterhours: paid-editor even though their employer didn't compensate for editing Wikipedia). – NJD-DE (talk) 02:09, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

I receive no money (or any other form of remuneration) for my research, my publications, my wikipedia edits, or any other activity connected either with my published work, research, or wikipedia activities, whether directly or indirectly. As for the 'conflict of interest' issue. I have made numerous edits to many many articles on wikipedia, including numerous journal pages, and only a few of which pertained to journals to which I have contributed work. However, were I to live in San Fransisco, I would assume there would no conflict of interest in any wikipedia article I might create or edit that is about San Fransisco. Were I to be French, I assume there would be no impropriety in contributing to edits about France. I can't really see where the conflict of interest lies, other than in a way that would apply to most contributions across the entirety of Wikipedia. It's not so much 'conflict of interest', as it is just simply 'interest'. Please advise.
