FA

Hey, do you work in WP:FA? --Tito Dutta (contact) 23:47, 12 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Let me request you in your style— Vivekananda went to America in 1893 and became the most popular speaker at the Parliament of the World's Religions. The Parliament was organized in Chicago to celebrate 400 years of Columbus's America discovery. And Americans wanted to showcase their power by organizing first whole world religion congress and they also wanted to prove the supremacy of Christianity to the world. But their idea doomed. An unknown Indian monk snatched away the medal from them. (that is the long history short). In 1893—1894 he visited almost every major city of US and everywhere he got warm welcome. It is a very important and remarkable part of Indian culture in America!
Could you help to make Swami Vivekananda a featured article? I am very much eager to make it an FA in this year (150th birth anniversary of Vivekananda). FA1 failed because of close paraphrasing. opyediting has been done and it is almost ready. Just some more copyedit and it should be good to go.--Tito Dutta (contact) 00:16, 13 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Promptuarii Iconum Insigniorum - date?

You've said it's published 1555 (though the category was redlinked - should be Category:1555 books!), but the title page on Googlebooks shows 1553. Do you know something I don't, or was that a mistake? I've left it for now, as 16th century bibliography is not my speciality. (Though the records at COPAC seem to agree on 1553.) Orphaned non-free media (File:Chinaworldlogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading File:Chinaworldlogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Press Play on Tape

Hi, Thue. I'm going to see if I can write an article Press Play on Tape. Are you available to help interpret Danish language sources? I'm going to see what I can do WhisperToMe (talk) 03:33, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

After reviewing the old article, while a lot of sources were cited, many seemed to be inaccessible, not reliable sources, and/or trivial mentions - people probably concluded the there was no real notability because if how the article was sourced. My strategy is to separate sources into classes, illustrating which ones support notability on a GNG basis and which ones are trivial mentions (but are used anyway) WhisperToMe (talk) 05:23, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I can help interpret Danish sources. Just post any questions on my talk page. Thue (talk) 07:52, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

> "Press Play On Tape spiller dog ikke bare den originale melodi fra et af de mest populære spil gennem tiderne. I stedet omsætter bandet melodien til regulær rockmusik, og det koncept har de seks medlemmer arbejdet med siden 1999, hvor bandet blev dannet."

Translation: "Press Play On Tape doesn't just play the original melody from one of the most popular games of all time. Instead the band transforms the melody to real rock music; the six team members have worked with this concept since 1999, where the group was formed. Thue (talk) 08:08, 24 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Repost of Press Play On Tape

A tag has been placed on Press Play On Tape requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Thanks for informing about that article but actually Kurd people from Iraq, don't read that kind of stuff on Wiki, they prefer to read that on news agency websites. Therefore for now I want to make articles with more interesting subjects till we increase the number of visitors of this Wiki. Beside there is something which if you can help me in, can raise the number of this Wiki's visitors extremely and here is the stuff:

there is no Operating System which present Kurdi(Sorani Branch) as default, so people can not search in google or other search engines in their mother tongue. So if you can tell microsoft to fix their Windows 8 or 8.1 the way that its Kurdish keyboard become useful for Kurd people you helped a culture to be saved for humankind. medee (talk) 18:27, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Southwest Inn Fire

Do you think an article is warranted? I'm not sure. I know the section dealing with the fire (in History) needs to be expanded upon, I just don't have time. I was lucky to even include that. This photo was definitely taken in 2012. I'm quite sure of that, because I took it myself. You obviously didn't check the EXIF information of the image, which clearly states Date and time of data generation: 2012-07-15T19:05:48. Please try to be a bit more careful next time. Speedy deletion nomination of Nothing to Hide: The False Tradeoff Between Privacy and Security

Hello WhisperToMe,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nothing to Hide: The False Tradeoff Between Privacy and Security for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. EzPz (talk) 07:17, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Nothing to Hide: The False Tradeoff Between Privacy and Security

Notability and no references are the main reasons I selected the article for speedy deletion. All the references go straight back to wikipedia.

After closer examination of content and references I have removed the speedy deletion template I placed on Nothing to Hide. EzPz (talk) 07:44, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

It seems I have forgotten to give update. I have started water cycle in Bengali 2—3 days ago. I hope to add more information. But, in Bengali Wikipedia reference toolbar is not coming in my account and thus creating huge trouble. --TitoDutta 11:04, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Courtesy note

Hello.

I have db-g6:d one of your creations, higab (a redirect to hijab), for the following reason:

This article may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion because it seems to be a one-off peculiar or mistaken spelling of "hijab" in Newsweek back in 2005, according to page history. No articles link to it. It has not been edited from its creation (until now). I need to move the municipal real estate company in Gothenburg Higabgruppen here; it has shortened its name to Higab.

Hope you don't mind.

Cheers.

Hello!

You have posted a picture request for the offices of Air China and Turkish Airlines in Munich. I have photographed the buildings. But, please keep in mind that both airlines only use some rooms in the depicted buildings. Here are the files:

I hope that I was able to help you with those files for your article work. Please give some feedback to me if something is missing. I will visit Munich surely in the next weeks.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Verax (film) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
