Left's RfA
editI've struck your oppose. Feel free to add your support in the support section, but I'm not going to stand by and watch as an otherwise perfect RfA goes down the tube over a not-so-funny joke. —Ed (talk • majestic titan) 19:34, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Ed, I guess you need to inculcate more civility and of course, humour, in your way of working. But surely, I won't revert your changes. I really don't like them (as I'm sure you can tell!), but I apologize for my actions here. Next time I'll just leave a message on the RfA and/or their talk page without striking. editHi Wiffione, Thank you for you reply again! The words we use are our own texts, we made them ourselves. So I don't understand why there can be a copyright violation (of our own text?)? Wikia is just the exact copy of the text we made. Or is this an automatic process and do we have to solve it like this? In case we have to rewrite it, how much 'rewritten' must it be? Is it just about a few words, or do we have to mix up everything? Please help again! Thank you, AstridA.groot (talk) 08:54, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, the problem is that those words are present on other websites, and there is no way for an administrator or me or any other editor to tell whether these words were originally created by you or by others. Houthoff Buruma The Game
Houthoff Buruma The Game is a serious game designed for recruitment purposes. In this interactive multimedia game, law graduates are challenged to display their skills. The Game is developed in 2010 by Houthoff Buruma and Ranj Serious Games.
As an example from the Netherlands of best practice world-wide involving serious games, Houthoff Buruma The Game was introduced at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The Dutch government's investment in 'the GATE Project' shows the growing importance of serious games for business purposes. (Game Research for Training and Entertainment).
Gameplay
editPlayers of the game represent China Mining & Marine, a demanding and unforgiving client. This state-owned giant has to construct the Panlong Renewable Energy Park, to meet the unprecedented energy goals of The People's Republic of China within an ambitious time frame. China Mining & Marine needs six specific vessels equipped with a unique installation technology, to succeed in completing the task in such a short time. These six vessels and the essential know-how are however in the hands of 't Hoen Marine & Offshore, a century-old Dutch family business. Because the Panlong Renewable Energy Park has become a matter of prestige for China, failure is not an option. China Mining & Marine needs those six vessels as soon as possible and is determined to acquire 't Hoen. What will it take to motivate the members of the 't Hoen family to sell their shares?
The students will be competing against each other in up to five teams, with up to five people in each team. They have 90 minutes to convince enough shareholders to sell their shares and to draft a 'Letter of Intent'. During the play they will be confronted with all kinds of information: video and text chats, e-mails, websites, conference calls, Facebook pages and Youtube movies.
