Gordon Copeland

Back in May 2007, you added some detail to the article on Gordon Copeland, which included the information that he was born in Nelson. A couple of days ago, an anon changed that to say he was born in Wellington, and my gut level feeling is that this was a good-faith edit and not vandalism. Do you recall the source you used to add the information?

I tried to check Copeland's autobiography, but the copy in my local library is missing. Online searches haven't turned up any mention of his birthplace. In the meantime, I've removed any mention of where he was born since we can't verify it.-gadfium 20:30, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'.
