Inherent notability for elementary schools which have been "Blue Ribbon Schools"
I am contacting you because you participated in either the AFD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kennedy Middle School (Cupertino, California) which resulted in a redirect or the deletion review Wikipedia:Deletion review#Kennedy Middle School (Cupertino, California) which resulted in restoration of the article because it was once a "Blue Ribbon School". I have opened a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Notability (organizations and companies)#US elementary schools: Inherent notability: for "Blue Ribbon Schools" as to whether the 5200 schools which have been found awarded the "Blue Ribbon" seal of approval get inherent notability, or if they each have to satisfy WP:ORG via significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources. Your input is welcome. Thanks! Edison (talk) 19:23, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

San Francisco meetup at WMF headquarters
Hi Wikih101,
I just wanted to give you a heads-up about the next wiki-meetup happening in SF. It'll be located at our very own Wikimedia Foundation offices, and we'd love it if some local editors who are new to the meetup scene came and got some free lunch with us :) Please sign up on the meetup page if you're interested in attending, and I hope to see you soon! Rollback
I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is because after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly: for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. —Tom Morris (talk) 05:49, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Thank you!
Thank you for the warm welcome! The cookies were lovely. :D
I will take you up on your offer to ask questions. One of my edits was to Grepolis - it was little more than a stub, so I expanded it with accurate information (from my head) and intended to come back to it to improve it later (with proper sources), and I left a note on the talk page explaining this. But then the article was deleted without warning because it didn't justify its own significance, and now I can't improve it at all. What I left there was very much a work in progress - I know it didn't yet meet Wikipedia standards - but it was better than what it replaced, which is why I did it.
I know it's possible to get it back, but there seem to be so many options and I'm confused. It seems like the best thing to do might be to ask someone to restore it to my namespace so I can improve it, but I don't know exactly how that works. What would you advise?
Thanks. :) ~ Kimelea (talk) 17:35, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Hey. You say the building is to be completed in 2014 but i recent article I found has a spokesman directly saying that if they meet the trigger, the building should be built to its full height in 2015. If you think the article is a good source please revert your revert. I don't want to complain I just don't know how to comment yet. Thanks for your comments. How do I comment on a page anyhow? Merging Diaz Rock to Astrolabe Island
Hi! You just reverted what I did on Diaz Rock -- and I'm sorry that I saved the redirect just before I saved the new data on Astrolabe Island. The articles related to Astrolabe Island seemed good candidates for merging, as many were orphans and all had been dormant for some time. I'll be more careful to save the added data before doing the redirect page, but as you're who reverted what I did, I'll not be presumptuous as undo what you did, and if I'm doing this wrong, please advise. Thanks. Engelhardt (talk) 00:50, 18 January 2012 (UTC) No, thanks for your work on Wikipedia! Since I finished saving the new info on Astrolabe Island, based on how I understood the 2d message you left me, I've made Diaz Rock a redirect page again. If I misunderstood, just let me know. Have a good day. Engelhardt (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:09, 18 January 2012 (UTC).

WikiCup 2012 February newsletter
Round 1 is already over! The 64 highest scorers have progressed to round 2. Our highest scorer was Grapple X (submissions), again thanks mostly to a swathe of good articles on The X-Files. In second place was Tigerboy1966 (submissions), thanks an impressive list of did you knows about racehorses. Both scored over 400 points. Following behind with over 300 points were Ruby2010 (submissions), Cwmhiraeth (submissions), Miyagawa (submissions) and Casliber (submissions). February also saw the competition's first featured list: List of colleges and universities in North Dakota, from Ruby2010 (submissions). At the other end of the scale, 11 points was enough to secure a place in this round, and some contestants with 10 points made it into the round on a tiebreaker. This is higher than the 8 points that were needed last year, but lower than the 20 points required the year before. The number of points required to progress to round 3 will be significantly higher.
The remaining contestants have been split into 8 pools of 8, named A through H. Round two will finish in two months time on 28 April, when the two highest scorers in each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers, will progress to round 3. The pools were entirely random, so while some pools may end up being more competitive than others, this is by chance rather than design.
The judges would like to point out two quick rules reminders. First, any content promoted during the interim period (that is, on or after 27 February) is eligible for points in round 2. Second, any content worked on significantly this year is eligible for points if promoted in this round. On a related note, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which would otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
