Proposed deletion of File:Hol brain.jpg

edit

The file File:Hol brain.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Personal file, no foreseeable encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AfC notification: Draft:Laia Cabrera has a new comment

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission,: it seems the only thing wrong with the ones here are the use of a single } instead of the proper }}. There are serious problems with the article's non-encyclopedic style , and those are what need to be fixed . Thanks! DGG ( talk ) 22:39, 9 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Although the structure is solid, it's not the practice of WP to analyze each individual work to this extent, unless we have multiple 3rd party sources for each of them. The customary way is to provide a section of major works., and also a list of each type of work as a list. For the list, enough information should be given for identification. For the major works, they can be discussed from the sources.
Looking at the sources, there are two problems: first, most of the links as given do not work. They're the search links you used to find them, but they do not work if clicked on. What does work is to go to the main page for the site, find the item, and then look at the url for that particular page. That's the one that should work. (you may be able to get there again with your links, since you've been there before, but other people won't). second, some of the links are not reliable third party sources. We do not consider IMdB reliable, and certainly not the artist's own site for anything but plain facts and what they think they're trying to achieve. If yo u use it for that, say something like, according to the artist, ....
As another possible problem, see WP:CPP, our guideline for close paraphrase. It can be difficult to avoid paraphrase for articles like this, but it is still necessary to change not only the words, but the sequence. You can use quotations, but only short ones. A WP article can't be composed of a string of quotations
As for prizes, try to condense the list a little--one device I sometimes use is to combine all the Telly awards, all the New York Innovative Theater Award. Each one needs a ref. You can reuse earlier refs--see WP:REFBEGIN
Now, style: do not use bold face for works, just " marks. It's not necessary to say New York, N.Y. , USA--just New York is enough. New York City is assumed unless something else is stated. Don't phrase sentences as rhetorical questions. Non-English refs are fine--give the original and a translation.
There's one key problem to think about first--is there a review or discussion of her work in general in any major publication? If so , refer to it at the start.
You may have noticed that many of the similar articles in Wikipedia are written in ways that do not match my suggestions. There are about a half-million articles in WP accepted in earlier years when the standards were lower that we need to either upgrade or remove. I unfortunately do not have the time to collaborate with you except by this sort of guidance. Do as much as you can, and let me know on my user talk page. As for pesky details, I can and will fix them up. (And you might also consider writing this as well for the French --or Spanish--WP. Especially for the French WP, look at similar articles--their expectations are different. Good luck with it.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:29, 10 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

Hello, Yessadeouve, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Laia Cabrera, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Laia Cabrera

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Laia Cabrera requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.laiacabreraco.com/bios, https://www.laiacabreraco.com/resumes, and https://www.laiacabreraco.com/film-videoart. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
