Fair use rationale for File:Patd2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Patd2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Armbrust Talk Contribs 16:24, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Rillrill.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Rillrill.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:05, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Infinityguitars.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Infinityguitars.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey (talk) 12:23, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Blood on the Dance Floor (Florida band)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Blood on the Dance Floor (Florida band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cntras (talk) 23:48, 3 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Botdfsgtc.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 00:14, 4 March 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Blood on the Dance Floor

edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Blood on the Dance Floor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an unambiguous misrepresentation of established policy.

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Blood on the Dance Floor (Florida band) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:01, 4 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The band Blood on the Dance Floor is a very notable band. They will be playing Warped Tour 2011 and have headlined 100's of sold out shows. The band is also one of the biggest bands to ever come from Myspace.

Every reference was from Myspace, Twitter, youTube, or was a mere track listing or similar. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:07, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Battle Beyond EP

edit

The article The Battle Beyond EP has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no hits on Google News or Google Books, and no indication that this EP passes WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Mr. Stradivarius 12:23, 7 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fall Out Boy Template

edit

I think it's better to keep the template section as one instead of making two for "Fall Out Boy" and "Fall Out Boy singles." I haven't seen any other pages using that split style and the two templates should be merged. In addition, "The Carpal Tunnel of Love" and "Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet" aren't actual singles. Noreplyhaha (talk) 06:18, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blood on the Dance Floor

edit

I am not going to comment about the notability of an article about the band, this is purely procedural. The proper name for the article you want to create is Blood on the Dance Floor (band). That article was salted in the past, but you can always ask for this to be removed. Please don't to hijack other articles like Blood On The Dance Floor to avoid it though, it would be considered vandalism if you did. If you want to remove the salt, go through the regular channels. --Muhandes (talk) 15:21, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Extendedbotdf.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Extendedbotdf.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 16:05, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

edit

It has become apparent that your account is being used only for promotional purposes, and that you are deliberately evading the decision at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Blood_on_the_dance_floor_(band). Therefore, this account is now blocked indefinitely. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:30, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am not promoting the band, I am adding information about a famous band. I shouldn't be blocked for this. Also I have made plenty of helpful edits on other pages. I was trying to add useful information about a band. I only repeated the creation of the page twice, because I thought it was deleted the first time to create a different page.

I see multiple notices and a warning to you, which went un-heeded. I saw re-creation attempts of the same article under different names, after older names were prevented by other admins from being re-created. The repeated recreation in spite of community consensus that the band is not famous, suggested to me that your purpose here is promotional. In any case, your activity has been disruptive, which is why you were blocked.
If you wish to appeal this block, or have the duration of the block reduced, you may place the template {{unblock | reason=your reason here}} here on your talk page for another admin to review. Be sure to read Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks first, though. ~Amatulić (talk) 06:59, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Crunk Witch

edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Crunk Witch requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it must be substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Unblocked

edit

Ylightflight: There appears to have been a misunderstanding concerning the notability of the band Blood on the Dance Floor. The band was definitely not notable and not worthy of an article in May 2010 when the article was deleted from the decision at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Blood on the dance floor (band). This was a valid justification to prevent the article from being re-created and block anyone who disrupts Wikipedia by re-creating it.

It seems that 6 months after that decision, the band managed to meet WP:BAND criterion #2 by getting on the Billboard rankings. Therefore, the AfD decision to delete the article is now invalid. On that basis, I have unblocked you.

However, I strongly recommend that you abstain from creating new articles directly. For now, please use the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process instead. There are still concerns about the kinds of articles you are creating. For example, separate articles about a band's discography and about individual songs, when the band has only recently become notable, will likely be deleted and your attempts to create them will continue to be viewed as disruptive, possibly resulting in another block. ~Amatulić (talk) 13:02, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

(Non-administrator comment) I remind you that the way to go would still be with Blood on the Dance Floor (band) and not with trying to hijack any of the alternative redirects/disambiguation pages/etc. --Muhandes (talk) 13:35, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Also, I strongly suggest you retract this uncivil personal attack and apologize. I'm sure it was only done in the heat of the moment. --Muhandes (talk) 13:48, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blood on the Dance Floor

edit

Please do not assume ownership of articles such as Blood On The Dance Floor (band). If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Also, please keep in mind iTunes is not warranted as a source, especially coupled along with the likes of several publications that cite BOTDF as crunkcore along with the fact that Template:Infobox musical artist clearly states that the associated acts field if only for groups that are in relation to the artist. The group being featured in a song, or having an artist featured in one of their songs does not count. Thank you. GunMetal Angel 02:29, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Blood on the Dance Floor (group), you will be blocked from editing without further notice. We have reasoned with you for too damn long for the last time. MOS:TM does NOT care about your retarded spellings with the "O" or "T" without to mention it was already discussed on the talk page on how the article should be moved, but that's the least of your worries concerning the fact that you are STILL edit warring against sourced content AND what everyone has set a consensus too. Also note in your edit description that you said that we agreed to it there being no genre field sidebar? No we did not, that was something you put in and everybody else ignored for obvious reasons, but since you seem very oblivious to what obvious is, I'll explain it one last time: nobody agrees with you. The consensus was set with crunkcore with more than three sources to back it up. Maybe you still do not have the idea of how Wikipedia works, even though many of us (me especially) have pointed out several times that what you're doing is wrong. You make the decision of what you wanna do past this. I don't care. Just keep in mind this is your final warning, I'm seriously sick of keeping the article for such a terrible "music" group on my watchlist all to keep an eye for the likes of you disrupting it over and over. GunMetal Angel 20:41, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am adding correct information. I will stop deleting the genre but I should not have to stop editing the page. I will cite the information and I'm trying to make the page more accurate. If you don't like the band, you wouldn't know anything about them. I am just trying to correct incorrect information and I should not be punished for it.

Don't make me laugh, you've already succeeded in almost getting yourself blocked before but the admin I told this to let you off easy, even somebody else had the suggestion for you to be blocked and it wasn't even me. Also, you don't need to know a thing about the article on subject, Wikipedia goes by sources, not how how much you know about two terrible "musicians". Also, being blocked is not a punishment. If you'd actually read the rules of this site before using it, you'd know that. Blocking is to keep those from making disruptive edits, and yet it's ironic how you've read these messages yet you're still causing disruptions. I've sent you MOS:TM four times now? Sorry, I'm gonna have to report you now. It's gone too far. • GunMetal Angel 00:12, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Except for the fact that my edits are cited and correct. You should be the one reported for undoing all of my correct edits.

Come on now, we tried to be fair and come to a consensus, but you continue to disregard everything, he's right in reporting you. -Jer Hit me up 00:32, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Agreed with Jer, I'm just gonna be frank in saying: you dun goofed. • GunMetal Angel 00:33, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

No, I stopped deleting the crunkcore. I only did that because I thought that's what we decided on. Now I am adding an alias and adding a featured artist to a song which both have sources! I should bot be reported for adding correct info!

Good behavior now doesn't make up for bad behavior. And besides, it's not like we'll suddenly change our minds thinking you have competence for this website now, especially after all the reasoning we tried over and over and over and over and over with you. Most users never get as many chances as you did. • GunMetal Angel 00:39, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

It wasn't even vandalism though.

What you consider to be vandalism or not does not mean it's not disruptive. • GunMetal Angel 00:40, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
What you're doing is very much vandalism, GunMetal has pointed out MULTIPLE TIMES that you are not following MOS:TM, which is a wikipedia guideline. I'm not attempting to "annoy you", I'm following wikipedia guidelines, which doesn't seem to matter to you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jer757 (talkcontribs)

Can't you just leave it alone! I've sourced it to show a featured artist! I don't know why you keep reverting it! Please stop.

It's being reverted because of your relentless violation of MOS:TM and for the record: those are not reliable sources as I've explained countless times. Not that it matters, once you get blocked me and everyone else that had a problem with you won't have to deal with this anymore. • GunMetal Angel 01:22, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you don't even like the band then I don't know why you even care! It's a website, get over yourself. I'm adding correct information about the band for the fans that are interested in knowing about the band. I don't care if you say my sources are unreliable because it's sourced information from reliable information! I'm just trying to add a featured artist and use the correct capitalization the band uses on their albums!

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Blood on the Dance Floor (band). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Abhijay (talk) 02:13, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of C'mon (song)

edit

The article C'mon (song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable, unsourced. Didn't chart. Fails WP:NSONGS.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Blood on the Dance Floor (group)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Blood on the Dance Floor (group), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Just Tell Me That You Want Me

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Just Tell Me That You Want Me, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 01:51, 18 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Three Loco (EP)

edit

Hello, Ylightflight,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Three Loco (EP) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Three Loco (EP) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited MiDi Murder, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Victor Vazquez (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:SempiternalBMTH.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:SempiternalBMTH.jpg.

Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:22, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Moon Money, MiDi Murder, and Muscle Milk (EP)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Moon Money, MiDi Murder, and Muscle Milk (EP) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. 122.16.120.195 (talk) 17:47, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not attack other editors, as you did here on Coexist (album). Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 06:16, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Coexist (album) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Flat Out let's discuss it 06:41, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
