Bloeme Evers-Emden review
Hi Yoninah, thanks for taking care of the refs in the article. I wanted to let you know that the two remaining dead links in the article are both of the External links. Personally, I'd just remove them since they are not necessary to the article, but I thought I'd let you know in case you want find the correct urls and keep them. I'll pass the article once you let me know what you'd like to do. Thanks. --Tea with toast (話) 01:21, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

In the English speaking world a Caravan is a travel trailer. When I was in Israel last, 2009-2010, my colleague referred to them as Caravanim. Calling what is essentially a mobile home a travel trailer is confusing. I sought to clear that up.--Degen Earthfast (talk) 19:21, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Calling what is essentially a mobile home a travel trailer is confusing...and no one in the English speaking world (whose wiki this is) would make that mistake. We use the German term plattenbau to describe cement buildings built primarily in Eastern Europe for the same reasons. If Israelis call them Caravanim then we whould use that term to clarify that is is not a travel trailer. (sidebar:Even those some larger bespoke travel trailers may approach smaller mobile homes in size anyone would instantly know the difference. Peace. DE --Degen Earthfast (talk) 20:35, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- I understand your rationale. However, in Hebrew, caravanim is plural. Israelis call a single unit a caravan. Yoninah (talk) 20:52, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Murder of Leiby Kletzky
I only changed the quote mark style incidental to other changes, since curved quotes are better typographically. You will notice that Wikipedia provides curved quotes for your use in the row of click-on special characters below the edit box. Hgrosser (talk) 01:48, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
If you look at any “real” printed book, or a real newspaper, you will see that they use curved quotes and apostrophes exclusively. (Except for the program listings in a computer book!) Straight quotes on a computer keyboard are a compromise, because of lack of space and ASCII codes, inherited from typewriter keyboards. Of course, on Wikipedia, article titles use straight apostrophes so people can type them. Hgrosser (talk) 14:18, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
Well, no, that’s an impossible task. But whenever I edit a section of an article for some other reason, I’ll usually change the quote marks in that section, and sometimes not, because I forget, and it really isn’t that significant compared to whatever edit I was doing in the first place. DYK nomination for Yad Kennedy
Yoninah, Because I know you understand the value of DYK nominations, I wonder if you might consider reviewing the nomination I submitted for Yad Kennedy: Template:Did_you_know_nominations/Yad_Kennedy. So far, no one has reviewed it. By the way, I have recommended to both the KKL-JNF and friends in the Israeli govt that they consider a major event at Yad Kennedy in November 2013, which will be the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. Very enthusiastic response to that recommendation, so I am trying to make this article a good source of background information! Question about DYK rules
Dear Yoninah, I just reviewed the DYK nomination for Sabre Dance--DYK nomination for Sabre Dance--and didn't think it was qualified based on the date the 5x expansion began. I turned down the nomination based on that fact, but asked that a more experienced reviewer double-check that I was correctly understanding the rules. I know you are experienced (!), and wonder if you could take a quick look. I've never turned down a nomination before. Thanks! NearTheZoo (talk) 20:22, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Dear Yoninah -- thanks for your very speedy look at the DYK nomination situation I raised. You helped make it clear that the nomination really does not qualify -- and you also helped me understand how to measure the expansion ratio in the future. (I was mistakenly going by the bytes.) You also helped me understand that a reviewer could (if an article otherwise qualifies) expand the 5 day requirement to 8 days. Many, many thanks! NearTheZoo (talk) 20:54, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Sulitza/Solitza
I'm a little obsessed with the correct spelling of shtetl names.) Why do you consistently change "Sulitza" to "Solitza" (Sulitz (Hasidic dynasty), Shotz (Hasidic dynasty))? The traditional Yiddish and Hebrew spelling is סוליצא, and the town name in Romanian (Sulița) also has u not o. [Perhaps you were misled by the alternate Yiddish spelling, סאָליצא? This spelling is analogous to the occasional spelling of "בלום" as "בלאָם" in Poland and the surrounding areas.] Ratzd'mishukribo (talk) 21:57, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- So am I to understand that you are not particular about the Solitz spelling? If so, I'll change all instances immediately. Ratzd'mishukribo (talk) 22:06, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
By the way, I think Sulitza is more correct; "Sulitz" is a back-formation from "Sulitzer" (Analogous to the back-formation of "Dolin" from "Doliner") - but that would require more drastic changes. Ratzd'mishukribo (talk) 22:06, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- Go ahead to both?Ratzd'mishukribo (talk) 22:21, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

You deserve a piece of the Moon. Thank you for your help, guidance and cooperation in advancing the moon sample display DYKs 7&6=thirteen (☎) 01:44, 14 November 2012 (UTC) |
Here is a 1 gram slice of the moon for you. Its worth millions. You are priceless! Thanks for all the great help you have provided.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 14:02, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
ALT 3
You were saying: If you like ALT3, the hook fact must be quoted and cited in each article. That is why I am putting the wording of ALT 3 in each of the articles. There are 3 references for it.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 22:55, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- BTW, in most articles the hook fact is already there when it talks about the moon rocks going missing or being stolen. Yoninah (talk) 22:57, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- So, I really don't have to do anything?--Doug Coldwell (talk) 22:59, 14 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the brilliant ideas you provided. We would never have been able to get the 30-in-1 DYK without your ingenious guidance. The "Final wrap" section was a major contribution in its expedition. Doug Coldwell (talk) 13:19, 17 November 2012 (UTC) |
How do I get an acceptable picture
The Rijksmuseum museum had a piece of petrified wood from the Drees estate that was mistaken as a "moon rock" and looked like this. <--- How could I use this picture in the Netherlands lunar sample displays article? Screenshot? Any ideas here where Wikipedia will accept the picture as or how it is a copyright free image? U.S. government image?--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:15, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks.Trouver (talk) 20:07, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
