Anna Nghipondoka and redirects

Thanks for adding this woman's full name, but please remember to make a redirect from this and any other likely versions of her name. I've done so - Googling threw up another couple of versions of her name being used, so I've made redirects from them too. Not in this case but quite often, creating those incoming links turns existing red links blue where she's already got a mention under her full name, which is very satisfying as well as helping the reader. Thanks. PamD 08:59, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Sorry about that! Usually I do redirect them, but I got lost on the Wikidata side and forgot :) Thanks for creating them! -Yupik (talk) 05:10, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Greetings!

Thank you very much for participating in The 2020 Months of African Cinema Global Contest which was concluded on 30 November 2020. A big thank you to you and every single person who created articles during the period of the contest for making this happen!

Please note that we have now concluded the review of all submitted articles, and winners have now been listed on the relevant page. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Translators se-en

A tag has been placed on Category:Translators se-en indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Talk! 19:32, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Liz: go ahead and delete it. I doubt it will ever be used since most of us are busy on other projects. Thanks for leaving me a message about it being put up for speedy deletion. -Yupik (talk) 20:34, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Music award categories

Hi Yupik, I see you've been adding people to music award categories which is great, but without adding matching claims and citations in the text. This leaves the cats making unsubstantiated claims in the articles; obviously anyone can delete these at any point as inconsistent with the text. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 03:30, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

I was quite shocked to see that that award was missing from so many artists' articles. I will be adding in the sources as I go through stuff this week if someone doesn't beat me to it. It would even be easy to do, as all of them already have sources in Áillohaš Music Award. -Yupik (talk) 03:46, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Chiswick Chap: I think that I've got them all now. Please let me know if you come across any that are still missing matching claims. -Yupik (talk) 15:11, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks! Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:12, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

Interesting Financial Times article on the Sami

‘Green colonialism’ and government threats provoke Sámi artists, which was in fact published in the print version on 17 April as "The way of the Sámi" should interest you, especially as it covers Máret Ánne Sara and the forthcoming Venice Biennale in some detail. I would expand the article myself but am bogged down with lots of other things at the moment. If you do not take it up yourself, I'll see what I can do in a week or two.--Ipigott (talk) 11:25, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
