editHello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Sharhabil Yaqaf, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. skarz (talk) 14:40, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- Additionally, please carefully review Wikipedia's policy requiring the use of reliable sources: Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Information involving historical mosques, for example, should be based on reputable publications written by academic historians and archeologists, not news websites, magazines, or other web sources. R Prazeres (talk) 14:52, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- It is extremely unfair that the edit to Al Najashi Mosque was reverted, honestly. The previous sources weren't much different, and there were sources with stronger evidence to support the claims. Couldn't you at least just remove the questionable sources and just put "citation needed" to the new content?? Yusuf Asar Yathar (talk) 15:11, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- It's not unfair at all, this is an encyclopedia that everybody can read and the expectation is that articles should always be improving and becoming more reliable, not less. It's better to inform you of these issues as soon as possible, rather than let you make edits that are likely be reverted or tagged at a later time. There is no reason to add new content only to then tag it as unsourced; we generally only do that to old content sometimes to give someone the chance to fix it if possible (and if it doesn't get fixed, it gets removed eventually).
- If you want to add content about the mosque's recent history which can be verified through relevant news sources, that's fine, but its origins and older history need scholarly sources, as this is the domain of professional historians and archeologists. R Prazeres (talk) 15:33, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

editPlease do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Ibn Dawud. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you.TheEagle107 (talk) 15:54, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Yusuf Asar Yathar I also came to your talk page following couple of your edits. It's quite interesting that you are taking so much effort and still so many messages coming your way, but that is the way we all have learned here and I hope and request to take all these messages in good spirit and try to read as many help page links suggested by various users.
- And it's okay to reduce speed a little since searching for best possible quality academic sources and writing in own words and navigating through so many policies is time consuming process for any new user. You need to write in own words but write what the source is saying and not any thing beyond the source says. I hope you are taking care on this point.
- I suggest using academic professors of relevant subjects from https://scholar.google.com/ and https://books.google.com/ as much as possible so you will face less number of questions on reliability from other Wikipedia users.
- In case of any question feel free to contact WP:Teahouse or drop me a line. Happy editing Bookku (talk) 16:22, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Bookku: This user considers the Muslim scholars who criticized the Wahhabi movement, such as: Ibn Dawud and Ibn Fayruz (By the way, these two articles were created by him) are infidels/atheists, without any sources at all, only from his own mind!TheEagle107 (talk) 17:02, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

- I mean some scholars (not me) did call them atheists. I was just following those, and in case you think I'm a Wahhabi fanatic no I'm not one, I'm an Ash'ari. Yusuf Asar Yathar (talk) 23:43, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- First thing first ".. I mean some scholars (not me) did call them atheists. .." This much answer is sufficient. In Wikipedia are you following Wikipedia policies and guidelines is important, what is your personal background is not. You can seek to preserve your privacy and not being discriminated against on the basis of your background.
-
- 'Some scholars' is vague, naming which or who is important
- Wikipedia has nuanced guidelines where you can or can not use Wikipedia voice and where In-text attribution are essential. WP:INTEXT provides you interesting examples. But until you get nuanced expertise always state Which scholar/ author said what.
- Scholars can be of more types religious scholars and academic university professor / scholars of Islamic studies / religious studies / cultural and anthropological studies. Even if you wish to quote a religious scholar let that reference come from reference of academic university professor / scholar.
- Also try to get acquaint concepts of majority view among academics need to be given primacy, minority views are dealt as per WP:Fringe guidelines.
- Then you get grasp of WP:BLP and MOS:BLP guidelines if you are writing about living person. and MOS:ISLAM while writing on Islamic topics.
- Wikipedia has various notice boards like WP:RSN to ask doubts and seek inputs use them too as much as possible.
- 'Some scholars' is vague, naming which or who is important
- Last but not least Wikipedia has many policies and guidelines, writing and defending one one sentence can be skill and challenge, don't get overwhelmed every one goes through these learning steps. Read and follow as many as possible, if some one points out any mistake study related policy and be willing to make corrections as needed. All the best happy editing. - Mausoleum of Talha ibn 'Ubayd Allah: "but in 2006 the mosque building was destroyed with explosives by Shi'ite gunmen in an act of revenge for the 2006 al-Askari mosque bombing." Sources say 'Unkown gunmen' not 'Shi'ite gunmen'.
- Abu al-Abbas al-Nahawandi: "He opposed the Ash'ari school and their founder, Abu al-Hasan al-Ash'ari. He even excommunicated them, and made a claim that a thousand scholars opposed the Ash'aris." The cited sources are not considered reliable. However, I did not find this statement in the sources as well. Please WP:STICKTOTHESOURCE. Thank you.--TheEagle107 (talk) 11:57, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from ar.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 21:24, 8 May 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Al Bu Sa'ad
editA tag has been placed on Al Bu Sa'ad requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
