Please stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Rorschach test, you will be blocked from editing. See also Talk:Rorschach test#A note to the newly arrived editorsxenotalk 22:45, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Since this account and User:Psychology12345 are clearly sock puppets for the point of edit warring, I have blocked both accounts. Chillum 00:04, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Upon further consideration I am going to find an admin not involved in this debate to make this determination. Chillum 00:15, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Rorschach test. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:34, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

My sincerest apologies --- I unknowingly became a meat puppet, reverted, and started an edit war -- and didn't even realize it! It came to my attention that the Rorschach inkblot cards were posted on Wikipedia and as any good psychologist-in-training, I quickly checked the Rorschach test page in disbelief and saw them for myself. In horror, I saw the "edit" option in the right hand corner of that section and thought, what if I just deleted them!? As a lay-Wikipedia user or a non Wikipedian, I have never before crossed over to actually making edits -- but have only used Wikipedia for information. With my novice understanding of how Wikipedia works, I simply thought I could delete this information because Wiki is an encyclopedia that "anyone can edit." A friend of mine had just done the same thing (created an account and deleted these images) as well -- so I thought I would try my hand as well. As we kept checking back and realizing that the images had been reposted, we kept thinking -- how long will this continue? Only then did I see that there is a "talk" page and that I had several messages re: reverting and potential blocking. I must say I am amazed at the complex detail of the Wikipedia editing process overall, and in particular with regard to the Rorschach test page. I briefly scanned the Wikipedia policies and procedures and am now feeling a bit more up to speed on how to navigate the editing process. Had this happened, I would have never had such respect for Wikipedia and its processes. I am in the process of scanning the lengthy discussions re: Rorschach inkblots and am in the process of formulating my response. Just wanted to apologize for any confusion and reassure you all that none of your regulars have resorted to edit warring. Zeitgest (talk) 01:23, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is all very understandable and we have every intention of forgiving any inadvertent mis-step on your part. May I ask where you became aware of this debate? Was it private correspondence or was it in a public forum? May I ask if you are familiar with Wikipedia before now? Where did you hear the terms "meat puppet"? I hope you don't mind the questions, it is just that we like to get to the bottom of these things. Feel free to not answer any or all of my questions. Chillum 01:45, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

1) I became aware of this debate when some friends who had recently taken the Rorschach test commented that they found the cards on wikipedia...they proceeded to pull up the wiki page and discuss their responses card per card from the 10. i had to see for myself 2) i became aware of the term "meat puppet" from your correspondence on the talk: rorschach test page and then searched for the word's definition. "And it is very clear this is the same person. Perhaps it is a form a meat puppetry, but that is the same animal. I would like to think better of the regulars too, but even reasonable people will become unreasonable will they will not give up something they cannot have. Chillum 00:12, 8 July 2009 (UTC)" 3) as i stated earlier, i have been a wikipedia general user, simply searching for terms -- but never had an account or edited anything until now. thanks for understanding

Okay. Chillum 18:33, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am placing an unblock request. I am not a sockpuppet of Psychology12345. She is a friend of mine in the same psychology graduate program. We are different people with different views and different writing styles; however, we share a common interest in contributing to the Rorschach Test discussion page because we are psychologists-in-training. You will note that I deleted the Rorschach images due to ignorance twice in an 8 minute time period -- once I realized that this was a violation of Wiki policy, I stopped, apologized, and began reading backlog discussion and wiki policies. I have been neither abusive nor condescending in subsequent discussions. This block is no longer necessary because I am no longer engaged in an edit war and realize the error of my ways. This block was not necessary because I am a separate person from Psychology12345.

If this unblock request is not sufficient, could you please let me know other avenues of proving that I am not a sockpuppet or confirming that I have a separate identity?

I only wish to be allowed to contribute politely to the discussion within the bounds of wiki policy. Thanks!

I would like to unblock you after confirming you and Psychology12345 are distinct individuals.
Please send me an email (to xenowiki gmail.com) from your institute-issued email address.
I will keep this in the strictest confidence, disclosing it to no one. –xenotalk 13:41, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

As you have been confirmed via email to be distinct from User:Psychology12345, I am unblocking with the understanding you will participate in talk page discussion and not unilaterally remove images from the Rorschach test article until there is a clear consensus to do so.

Request handled by:xenotalk 16:57, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Just FYI, you may blank or archive any or all of the above at your convenience. –xenotalk 17:13, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
