Although some prefer welcoming newcomers with cookies, I find fruit to be a healthier alternative.

Hello, Zhamidz, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Tata Nexon at Auto Expo 2020.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Tata Nexon at Auto Expo 2020.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/petrol-tata-nexon-gets-more-power-107368/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Text coherence

edit

If you rearrange the sentences in a text, the end result will not necessarily be coherent. Take a look here, your version of the text is:

Mankiyali is not mutually intelligible with any of the surrounding languages. Lexical similarity tests have revealed that it shares a slightly higher percentage (41–42%) of its core vocabulary with the Kohistani languages Gowro and Bateri, and a third with the Shina language Ushojo, that belong to the Dardic group. However, it also shares a little over a third with the local varieties of Hindko and Gojri. The somewhat higher similarity with Bateri could indicate a common origin, which would be consistent with the oral traditions of the community

Just try reading it. It first starts with the neighbouring languages, then quickly jumps to the far-away Kohistani, talking about "slightly higher" percentages (slightly higher than what?), then goes back to the neighbouring languages to give the percentages there, before jumping once again to Kohistani in the next sentence. Try reading the previous version and see if any of these sudden jumps or non-sequiturs occur there. – Uanfala (talk) 12:36, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Well, I know that. It starts with the neighbouring languages, but the sentence is negative. – Zhamidz (talk) 15:22, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Uanfala: Whatever you did is also acceptable, but mentioning the dardic languages firstly is better, because the similarity with Hindko and Gojri is due to the influence – Zhamidz (talk) 18:54, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Well, starting with the neighbouring languages means the text flows more naturally from the previous paragraph. If you would like to change that, then no strong objections on my part, but please do so in a way that doesn't result in the problems I pointed out above. Don't just revert. – Uanfala (talk) 19:41, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add or change content, as you did at Jaipur ‎, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article.
You don't avoid the WP:BURDEN of having to provide a reference just by adding a CN tag at the end of your edit - Arjayay (talk) 14:49, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Saraiki region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Saraiki region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. The single source provided does not even mention this "region".(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Well, I agree with you that the article page needed improvements. I was busy thus I wasn't able to do that, nor anyone else. And if I revert once again, I will improve it. Thanks for your attention. –Zhamidz (talk) 09:02, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
