Hi. I've nominated Cebu Bus Rapid Transit System, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article here, where you can improve it if you see fit. BabbaQ (talk) 14:13, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

editYou should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, instead of writing it yourself, as you did at Nigel Paul C. Villarete. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.
Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Zachlipton (talk) 09:18, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
The article Nigel Paul C. Villarete has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Zachlipton (talk) 09:20, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for adding references to the Nigel Paul C. Villarete. Based on these additions, I have removed the proposal for deletion. That said, notability rests on the ability to present significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. I want to encourage you to focus your efforts on adding references to the article to ensure that it is not deleted due to a lack of notability. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Best regards, Cind.amuse 11:14, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
DYK for Cebu Bus Rapid Transit System
editOn 7 February 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Cebu Bus Rapid Transit System, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the World Bank is supporting the scheme for the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit System in the Philippines financially and technically through its Clean Technology Fund? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
