The 2026–27 W Canadian Championship (French: 2026–27 Championnat canadien féminin) is the first edition of the W Canadian Championship, the national women's soccer knockout competition in Canada.[1] The winner will qualify for the 2027 CONCACAF W Champions Cup.
Format
[edit]Eight teams are participating across three knockout rounds starting with the quarter-finals featuring all six teams from the Northern Super League and two clubs from Premier Soccer Leagues Canada.[2] The quarter-finals are being held between August and October 2026. Two of the four quarter-final matches are between NSL teams, and are previously scheduled league matches that will also count for the tournament. A draw for the semi-finals and final will be held in early 2027, with those matches then taking place in the first half of 2027. Each matchup throughout the tournament consists of a single leg and will feature extra time and, if required, a penalty shoot-out to resolve ties.[3]
