Operator: TeckWiz
Automatic or Manually Assisted:Partly Automatic
Programming Language(s):AWB
Function Summary:Will notify users to subst templates. (I must manually input users.)
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run):If needed, right after the bot does it's other task.
Edit rate requested: 5 edits per min (for this task)
Already has a bot flag (Y/N):Yes
Function Details:As my bot is doing it's substing, if I'm watching the pages it substs, and I see it's substing a lot of messages left by the same user, I will add them to a list. When the bot is done with it's first task, I will put the user talk pages I find into the list of pages to go through. It will then use the "append" function on AWB to add {{subst:uw-subst}} to the bottom of each page. I must manually input the users talk pages to leave the message on, but the bot will leave the message automatically.
Discussion
editI don't see any problem with this in prinicple - how many users would you expect to warn per day (for example)? Martinp23 14:57, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- 2-3 probably. I'm only going to use it when I see my bot is substing a lot of templates from the same user. It will basically run manually because it will probably only be adding that message to one user's page at a time (unless I find 2 users in one run). --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 15:32, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Why not just do it with your own account? It makes things much more personal for the person on the receiving end, and they then have someone to go to, to ask for help. Thanks, Martinp23 16:50, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Okay. Is there a withdrawn template? --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 16:55, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It's {{BotWithdrawn}} :). Withdrawn by operator. Martinp23 17:28, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
