That's unnecessary, because we're using a "cite news" template, not a "cite web" template. Simply the newspaper name will suffice, per Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter FAs. Both have NYT articles that have solely the newspaper name and no publisher. —Bloom6132 (talk) 14:13, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Minor issue, but "earliest Canadian stars in" is mildly POV.

"proceeded to win" not keen on "proceeded to" always feels a little redundant. Maybe just "then won..."

Last four sentences of the second lead para repeat Tip O'Neill three times. I understand you need to remove ambiguity because you're talking about other awards in the same para, but consider a rethink so we don't have so much repetition.

How do you demonstrate a player is still "active"? E.g. Morneau's win is referenced in 2008, where's the citation for him being on a roster this season?

Per my discussion with Bagumba in recently passed FL, the "Baseball Almanac general ref lists all the players, which also has links to each player's profile where it can be verified if they are active/inactive."
