OriginalRoadkilled deer on the Okatie Highway, South Carolina, USA. The debris surrounding the deer is a mixture of the dismembered animal and parts broken off the car that has hit it. In the US there are ca. 250,000 deer-vehicle collisions per year, leading to about 200 human deaths and over $1 billion in property damage.
Reason
This is a high quality image, very well capturing the subject, with high EV in the article. I apologize to those disturbed by the image, but I decided to nominate it in line with WP:NPOV, which implies that we shouldn't avoid unpleasant topics.
