Print???

Hangon template

Hey there! Technically, anybody can add it, though if a person who isn't the author feels that the speedy is inappropriate they will usually just remove it altogether. You will need to first register an account, which has many benefits, including the ability to create articles. Once you have registered, please search Wikipedia first to make sure that an article does not already exist on the subject. autobahn average speed

What is the average speed on the autobahn. I heard that with crashes and waiting to clear them the average speed is quite low. Is this an urban myth or true?

When you invoke nazis, you should not expect to get kind replies. That being said, the latest vandalism warning came from a bot which admits it can be wrong and said "If this revert was in error, please contact the bot operator." It may indeed have been an error or at least questionable, and a registered editor has partially restored your edit to Tornado emergency. Your edit claimed a day 2 days into the future. I'm sure no Tornado emergency speaks about days into the future. The restored version changed the day. If you register an account then you get many benefits. One of them is being less vulnerable to bot reverts for suspected vandalism. Maybe this seems unfair but many people wouldn't believe the amount of real vandalism edits we get from unregistered editors. Bots are a useful but imperfect tool to help with this problem. Burger Baron

A couple of things:

Unfortunately the origination of the Burger Baron has long been contested. It was created by Allen Kemaleddine - I am in charge of Marketing and Public Relations for the Burger Baron.

Headquarters are not in Edmonton, they are in Lethbridge, Alberta. Although I've repeatedly changed the page, it is continually changed back. As this is an misinformation and detrimental to the succession of franchisees and potential franchisees, Burger Baron requests that you inform the creator of the Burger Baron page in Wikipedia to cease and desist as it is an infringement on lawful territory and misrepresentation.

Correct information as well as citations will follow.

Paleolithic

I am currently in the process of expanding the article on the Paleolithic and i notice it has a tag on it that says "Please help improve this Article by expanding it" have i expanded the article enough to have the removed if not how close am i to reaching that goal?--Fang 23 (talk) 01:50, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Stanley Cup

Dear Wikiapedia Editors I have been trying to get a complete list of every person who has won each Stanley Cup for over 20 years. My list is almost complete. I know there are more people who receive Stanley Cup rings than can be engraved on the Stanley Cup. So it is impossible to get a list and could be well over 60 or 70 people. I have limited my list to four catergories. 1. Name was engraved on the Stanley Cup. 2. Included on the official team picture. 3. played 1/2 the regular season games that season. 4. dressed for 1 playoff game. By limiting the list to the above, I have my list almost complete. I have about only a handful of teams: 1902, 1903 Mtl AAA, 1904, 1910, 1911 Ottawa, 1906 Montreal Wanderers, and 1913 Quebec Bulldogs. I don't have complete list of non-players. When I found your list on Wikipedia I found mistakes, eg Toe Blake Coach - with 1969 Montreal. Blake retired after 1968 Finals. Claude Ruel was the coach. Brian Glynn listed as winning the cup in 1989, when he did not. There are missing names some players(eg 5 players for 1939 Boston), and almost all of the non-playing members. I found out I could edit your list. So I did. However, some of names have been removed. Why??? Wouldn't it be nice to have a complete list of each member of each Stanley Cup winning team, for fan too look at on the web. I have some names spelt wrong. Sorry I am bad speller (your list has help correct most of my mispellings Thanks.) I list them in order they are engraved on the Stanley Cup, almost always the Non-players are listed before the players. The trainer is listed before or after the players. I then include all player who qualify (1/2 regular season game, 1 game in the finals), this followed by injuried players, or dressed in the playoffs. Presidents, Owners, Ass't Managers, or Trainers who are left off the are also included, because they should qualify to be on the cup. Would it not be nice to have complete list on the Web for hockey fans to look and see each player, and non-player from each winning team. I am willing to add the missing names. Every couple of days I can add some more information on the winning teams. I not looking for credit for this, just a complete list of winning members on the web. Hi, I did a Google search for "The Hamilton San Francisco" and was led to the following:

After reading the entire article twice, I could not find the Hamilton mentioned anywhere in it. My question is - What am I doing wrong, and is there a way to search within an article?

Replacing Image??

I've uploaded Spratly_with_flags.jpg. That file is in public domain since it was from CIA. I modified the original picture and added flags to show the occupied islands in the Spratlys. However, I realized I need to re-edit the picture because the image i uploaded have flags which overlaps some text labels. I edited the picture and uploaded it with the same filename. However, it seems the old file is not totally overwritten. The thumbnail picture in the Spratly article shows the new picture. However, if you click that thumbnail, it will show the old picture. The problem here is that your cache has not been cleared; basically, a web cache is what stores images and information on webpages so that when you access those webpages again the images load faster. Due to the new image filename being the same, the old information will still display. To fix this, just clear your cache and the image should show up fine. copying from website?

The entry Una Canger has a Bibliography, I've compared it with http://www2.adm.ku.dk/kub/puf_www3.forf_pub_personid?p_person_id=77515

very similar - even "Geopgraphic" is the same in both, so is this legit to "copy" this info into Wikipedia? There's no copyright msg on the external page.

Generally, what about info from .edu.* sites? what about paraphrasing/synthesising info into topics?

Unless a site specifically says that the information there is released to the GFDL or a compatible license, we can't copy it here. Having said that, are you sure that the Wikipedia info is copied from the other site, or vice versa? I'll try to see what I can find out... Corvus cornix_talk 18:37, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

That site has blocked the Wayback Machine from crawling it, so I can't tell which came first, but the bibliography on the Wikipedia article has been refactored to make it less of a copy. Corvus cornix_talk 18:40, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

How to remove underconstruction template

I can't find any instructions on how to remove the underconstruction template. (The FAQ site appears to be down.) Renominate an article for deletion/merge/etc

How often can an article be renominated for deletion, merge or something like that after it was voted to be kept in a previous nomination? Cigraphix (talk) 20:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

As often as you wish, as long as you don't do it so often it gets pointy. For example, renominations after two months or so are fine, but renominations days or weeks after the original are not and are usually speedy kept as a bad faith nomination. However, if you don't agree with the outcome of a recent XfD, then go to deletion review. XENON54 | talk 20:41, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Sharing Contacts in Outlook

I work for a helpdesk and I have several associates needing to share the same contact address book. One Associate updates and the two others need to access it. I know how to import/export but it seems to do that with ALL of their contacts and not just the one distribution list they need.

What i was thinking is having them save all the contacts in a shared folder on our network. It looks like it saves via a .rtf extension. However, I can not get this to work correctly. Any help is much appreciated.

Printable Version anyone?

Alright, this site is great for finding information i need and fast too. My main issue is priniting off this site. For papers and such for my high school, we have to ussually site the articles as well as bring them in. It would be amazing if you could somehow create a "printable version" like other web sites have, so i wouldn't need to print 18 pages of blank spaces and such. Also, if there IS a way to print an article without all of this hassle of cutting and pasting to a word document can you make it clear how to do so? Thanks

The bot reverted your edits as possible vandalism because in addition to adding the valid references, your edits deleted half of the article (see the changes you made), any large scale removal of content such as this will trigger a bot revert whether malicious or accidental. 86.21.74.40 (talk) 20:56, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Template for showing information until someone chooses to hide it

Is there a template that is roughly the opposite of {{Show}}, so it shows the information until you click hide and then it hides it? Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:08, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Yup. If you include the parameter

 state = blank

Review & tags

I've come across an article (Nixzmary Brown) wherein the author is using it as essentially a trial blog. I approached him once about it and he said he'd fix it later. It's been for style but except for daily trial updates, nothing else has been done. I can't find an appropriate "no news blog" tag and think it needs to be reviewed by someone, I don't quite know who or where to broach this. Any help would be appreciated. If you are feeling ambitious you could re-write a condensed version of that article (as it is currently a rambling time line as you pointed out) on a user sub-page and then have someone at Editor Assistance review it.
