English Rugby League players

Dear Sir, I refer to the above subject. I wish to have my name Kenneth Parratt added to the list of players. I played for the BATLEY RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB both first and second teams during the 1960s. A check with the now BATLEY BULLDOGS with the club records should prove this to be true and correct.

I can't find a specific List of English Rugby League Players, although there are various lists of Rugby League players by team, national representation and so on. We do have a Category:English rugby league players, but that is just a way of categorising existing articles about individual players - you can't add anyone to it who doesn't have an article. Unless there is actually an article about you, there isn't really anywhere to add your name. WP:RLN explains the criteria governing whether or not a Rugby League player is considered eligible for an article. - Karenjc (talk) 18:56, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

LASCAR WAR MEMORIAL,KOLKATA

A starting point would be to tell us which of the 23 people listed at Michael Harris you are. If you have a reference to a published reliable source (and your own personal knowledge doesn't count as a reliable source because it is not verifiable), then the information can be corrected; otherwise if the information in the article doesn't have a source it can be removed. - David Biddulph (talk) 12:43, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

(ec) The correct place to take this, is to Talk:Expatriate. After a brief look, I can see one problem - the U.S. citizens living abroad section quoted above seems to use Wikipedia itself as a reference. However, the reference used in the International taxation article is now a dead link. I've flagged that, but someone with more time should investigate thoroughly. Updating company logo on wikipedia page

I'm trying to update the logo being shown on the page: Principles for Responsible Investment

However, it's not such a simple task!

Parse error in math notation

There is a parse error in the mathematics in the complex number section of Rotation (mathematics). Does anyone here feel up to looking at the code and trying to fix it? It was introduced in this diff when an editor tried to change the sign. RJFJR (talk) 14:48, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Facebook page

I would like to know how to remove a facebook page which appears to have been automatically generated by wikipedia as it is causing confusion with people trying to find the correct page for that organization - I am a representative of that organization. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.12.202.84 (talk) 15:40, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia does not generate Facebook pages. I think a Google search can sometimes lead to a Facebook page, with an image taken from Wikipedia shown alongside the link. And it is sometimes the wrong picture taken from Wikiepdia. This is because of the way Google operates, there is little that we here at WIkipedia can do about it.

It might help us to try to answer your question if you told us

1. The name of your organization
2. The URL at which you see the confusing page.

It's probably a Facebook Community Page. Facebook Community Pages are created by Facebook users. They often use Wikipedia content on these pages, because it is free for anyone to reuse. Wikipedia doesn't make these pages, as Maproom said, and it has absolutely no control over them. You need to talk to Facebook about this, not Wikipedia. It's not the best source, but you may find this article useful. It's actually a really good explanation of what these pages are, and why they may be unpopular with organisations like yours. - Karenjc (talk) 18:35, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

As you have discovered, this is one, if your question refers to editing Wikipedia. I am trying to put on my Wiki Page for my company an interactive box which allows the developers within my company to ask technical questions and I could answer questions, which all the developers can see the questions and answers. Because many of them may have the same questions. I received a cite error message that references will not show unless I use a references template. I thought I had one, but am new to editing, and not sure how to proceed. I listed all references, and put line citings within article. How to proceed to get edited version on wikipedia? If you are talking about this version of Ed Polcer, then your starting point is to click on the link provided in the error message, which says "see the help page". It will tell you that you need a {{reflist}} template in the references section. Replacing the existing content (living person) with the subject's official biography

There are many potential problems with that approach. First, without licensing, it would be a Copyright violation. Assuming you could overcome that, there is going to be really big concern that the official biography may not reflect a Neutral Point of View. Normal concerns about WP:Reliable Sources, and WP:Notability would apply, as well as the need to make sure it was written in an approriate encyclopedic tone, and went into only the depth you would expect from an encyclopedic coverage of the subject. All in all, I would strongly suggest that in almost all cases the more productive approach would be to use normal editing to expand the article in your own words, rather then opening the can of worms that trying to replace it with the official biography would be. Furthermore, even if you did manage to replace the existing content with some kind of "official" text (almost impossible, as Monty845 has explained), that text would still be subject to future changes and additions by any user prepeared to cite reliable sources for their edits. Onam

Hello Wikepedia,

This is regarding the article 'Onam'. Onam It states that "Onam (Malayalam: ഓണം) is a Hindu festival celebrated by the people of Kerala, India". This is totally incorrect.

I have a serious concern that this article is written without a proper knowledge of the festival Onam or about Kerala's cultural background. Onam is not a festival of Hindus only. All religions and all groups celebrate this festival and it is a total injustice to the the great festival and the harmonious people of Kerala to add a religious color to it. While I understand that this was written by a volunteer but this needs correction. Please correct it. Also, this page would need to be much more colorful.

Are you by any chance referring to a photo or text shown to the right of a Google search? Google's Knowledge Graph uses a wide variety of sources. There may be a text paragraph ending with "Wikipedia" to indicate that particular text was copied from Wikipedia. An image and other text before or after the Wikipedia excerpt may be from sources completely unrelated to Wikipedia. We have no control over how Google presents our information. You can however try clicking the "Feedback" link on Google's page and mark the data as wrong. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:03, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
